Match Types You Want To See Return

**The.Best.In.The.World**
Today in the WWE we get usually the same gimmick matches. Matches like TLC, Steel Cage, Hell in a Cell, etc. There were a few matches that we have seen in the past that would be nice to see a quick return. Seeing the Ambulance match back was refreshing. I think WWE needs a few more gimmick matches to come back BUT not over doing them much like The Hell in a Cell. Matches I wouldlike to see a quick return.

I thought of two matches I would like to see make a quick return.

3 Stages of Hell
What a fantastic match type this is. A perfect way to settle a grudge with someone. The match consists of 3 matches with each match being a different match type. First to win twice wins. Like I said before, if it was brought back AND NOT OVERDONE then I would LOVE to see a three stages of hell match. The match would have to be someone with alot of energy and willing to go 3 straight matches. You could have the first match a regular match, the next one a No holds barred match,a then maybe a steel cage match. This is one match type I would love to see make a return.

Buried Alive Match

To me it is the perfect time for this devilish match type to make a return with Kane "ressurected" It could have possibly made sense to have it in the Cena/Kane fued. If we see this match though it may need to be a time where Kane is going to go away for a while or even retire. Either way it is time for the Buried Alive Match to make a return.

-Your thoughts? Discuss. And tell me some match types that you would like to see make a return.-

Completely agree with the 3 stages of hell I loved it and its an awesome way to settle a main event fued without a 30 minute long match, particularly between two guys who aren't the best in the ring. It offers variety and terrific entertainment value.

Boiler Room Brawl: I loved this concept it was a unique spin on hardcore, felt intimate and was pretty brutal. I'm npt sure if this could be brought back with the whole PG thing but I'd love to see it.

Inferno match.
Would've been great with the cena kane feud. Kane came back with the mask and never ever even said why. that would've been way better than an ambulance match. and way more entertaining. cena could've said so you took the mask off and you weren't really burned..but if you wanna play with fire i'll burn your ass blah blah blah....

3 Stages Of Hell for sure. So many options and can be so different each time. Anyone can compete in it but should be a feud ender for top level guys.

Casket match. Haven't seen one in awhile I don't believe. Wouldn't mind seeing one that didn't involve Taker.

Parking Lot Brawl. I think they only had this once with Eddie and I wanna say Cena. Cool concept could be very brutal.

3 stages of hell is one of my favorites as well. It really is the best match type to settle a long feud.

Inferno match is boring. Yea, the idea excited me the first time it happened but at this point we all know what is going to happen. Someone is going to be wearing protective gear and act like a stuntman. It was cool MVP took the burn on his body but the Kane arm and boot thing is kind of bleh. For all the hype the match gets it should be a god damn spectacle to see someone lose. I say keep inferno on the shelf, but to each his own.

I'd like to see 3 Stages of Hell and Iron Man back in the picture a little more often.

First Blood too.

one concept super heavy was the Punjabi prison match very unique and so brutal.
in second the Iron man match famous concept with more adrenaline.

The last ride match will be famous with Taker, ideal for an Wrestlemania maybe next year

I would like to see the Texas Bull Rope Match. I thought Eddie Guerrero and JBL put on a good match with this stipulation and I think the last one was Randy Orton vs Dusty Rhodes I'm not sure I could be wrong but I would like to see this stipulation be used. They also need to start using the championship scramble again. I thought that was a great idea.

How about an Iron Man Match...when's the last time we saw one of those? The only memorable one I think of is Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels

I agree that the 3 Stages of Hell would be a very interesting and awesome match to bring back. However, and I've read/heard that it has been whispered about in WWE time and again, I'd love to see the return of War Games.

War Games from WCW Fall Brawl.

It was excellent when large groups were feuding (WCW vs NWO, Hulkamania vs Dungeon of Doom, etc). The 4 vs 4 in side by side rings and the countdown system that always changed the tide of the match was always exciting to watch. The only problem that came from this concept was the 2nd ring was useless during the rest of the show.

The 3 Stages of Hell match is one of my favorites. I could see it happening again, it's just one of those matches that has to be saved for a special feud. Like the Iron Man match.

The only (good) match type that's really never happened in the WWE is War Games. But I'll take the minority side and say I'm glad - first of all, War Games in PG would be horrible. And given how little effort they put into building up traditional Survivor Series matches, I don't think War Games would do any better.

I'll say the Championship Scramble. It was a cool concept. Different. I thought it might become a regular annual thing, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Anyone remember the Tower of Doom Match? This was a cool concept and a match I wish they brought back. I think WCW did it one time, and then it was featured in Ready to Rumble. Three cages stacked on top of each other, with the Championship belt at the very top, weapons all along the way up. Just a great match.

I would like to see the scaffold match brought back. what better way to settle a feud then to fight on a scaffold 20 feet above the ring the way to win knock your opponent off and send him into the ring. I havent seen this one in a great while.

another one that was great was the bunkhouse stampede, very simple concept a battle royal held inside a steel cage was just a great match all around

i also miss the concept of battle bowl, start with a series of tag matches with partners chosen at random with the winning teams advancing to a battle royal. this could work great to start or enhance feuds today

They also need to start using the championship scramble again. I thought that was a great idea.

Couldn't agree more. I figured it would become an annual thing but I guess not. It was a great idea and concept. There was the aw factor. Whoever was the one to think of that is a genuis.

I have to go with the Inferno Match. It was really cool looking when kane or undertaker gets slammed and then the flame bursted up. Another one isnt a match but bring back the old blue steel cage back.

I agree with the 3 stages of hell match making a return to the WWE. I would also love to see the Strap match to return as well because i remember JBL was demolishing his opponents when it came to these type of matches... Can someone tell me how to make my own Discussion please!!!!

Never seen a match like this before but I thought about this for a title match or a way of uping the rumble or picking a king of the Ring.

Start with a 30 man battle royal.
When down to the final 4, it becomes a fatal 4 way, elimination match.
When there are only 2 competitors left, the cage is lowered and it becomes a 1 on 1
Steel Cage match.

This would be my version of a 3 Stages of Hell Match for a title, or King of the Ring, or possibly a replacement for the Rumble Match. Just a thought.

I want to see a true hardcore match. I still love WWE, but they kill me when they call a hardcore match just using a chair a couple of times. You want some great hardcore matches, see Al Snow vs Road Dogg or the Hardcore championship match at WM 17. I think what made them special was the that unpredictability. I like seeing random weapons under the ring like broom sticks, pipes, bowling balls, etc. I enjoy when wrestlers fight in the crowd and fight backstage. I like seeing them brawl in the parking lot, concession stand, the freaking arcade, etc. It was just fun. It was like a live version of Tom and Jerry. Two guys just beating the hell outta each other with random objects. But NO! WWE's idea of a hardcore match today is a fighting outside briefly, and maybe having someone interfere. They should just bring back the hardcore division as a whole!

You have to have a certain number of posts first. I think you have to have 10? Something like that.
As for what kind of match I would like to see return: War Games for one, but it would have to be done right and the PG thing would have to go away. And they don't necessarily have to have two rings, they could just use the "Cell" around one ring. It's big enough.
There was a cage that WCW used back in the day that I would like to see returned. I can't remember what they called it back then, but it was the same cage they used in the Chamber of Horrors match. Pretty much it was a lot like the cell in that it surrounded the ring with room on the floor, but there was no roof on it, instead the top was angled so that nobody could climb in. I just thought it looked really cool. I'll have to see if I can find a picture now.

I like the real old school matches like LoserLleaves Town and Hair vs Hair. I remember at one time in LA, the Los Angeles Times used to put the results from the Olympic Auditorium from Friday nights big matches, and the results came in from the John Tolos vs Victor Rivera match which was a in a loser leaves town match. It said John Tolos loses and must leave town for 90 days or forever...which ever comes first!

I would personally like to see a very small amount of gimmick matches in the WWE for a while. It seems that every single pay-per-view has a gimmick match, if not an entire gimmick theme. What made gimmicks so popular in the first place, is that they were so underused.

I realize it's a different era, and that may not entirely work. The crowd has gotten used to gimmick matches, and they've lost a lot of their mystique. I recall a time in the not so distant past when Shawn Michaels had the first ever ladder match. It was amazing. Now, if someone doesn't jump off a 30 foot ladder onto a stack of 10 tables (clearly a hyperbole) the match simple wasn't enough. We've become spoiled and it has watered down gimmicks greatly. Thus I would like to see the use of less and less gimmick matches overtime; then used periodically only to end feuds that have went on for 4-5 months.

First Blood Match... wwe has been killing me with this no blood thing lol.. I remember blood used 2 be at almost every pay-per-view match.. i understand there are kids watching but hey i was 7 or 8 years old watching the attitude era lol.. but it would be cool 2 see some barbed wired bats and thumbtacks be used again im not saying have a massacre im sayin every once in a while have a first blood match.. plus it puts heels over 10 times more then without blood

One match I'd love to have seen that *should* have been a gimmick match was "the King Kong Bundy 5-count match". Bundy always pinned his opponents with an extra two second count.

I wish he'd fought Hogan in a match with the stip that the winner had to win by five count, and Bundy and Hogan would kick out of each other's finishers several times on the count of four before Hogan finally got the pin. I'm not sure who I'd put in this one in the modern era: maybe Punk/Cena, or Show/Henry.

This actually sound like a very cool idea. The match would take a while (likely an hour) but would be a blast to watch.

As far as established gimmick matches my favorite was always the Iron Man match. In the current WWE there are a number of guys that could pull off a match of this type including Punk, Bryan, Rhodes, Ziggler, and Jericho. Also, make it a full, 60 minute match.

I have no knowledge of WCW but what ever those matches were with multiple rings, that coud be so cool. Make a PPV concept with 2 or 4 rings and have 2 guys competing in each ring to start out the match and have it be the first one to score a pin fall gets the whole win. That would make for some great moments.
