MAJOR NEWS: TNA World Headquarters is Relocating

Except Papa Carter hasn't been footing the bills for Dixie for some time now. Interesting theory. Makes for a good psychological evaluation experiment, I suppose, but has little value in making a realistic assessment of the state of TNA.

I was actually going to say that. He pulled his money out, and that's when the bigger financial problems started.

So, yeah, apparently TNA has investors about ready to go, and in the ultimate LOLTNA move, it's Ron and Don Harris, who are known white supremacists.

Still better than Dixie Carter.

I'm still flabbergasted that she thinks someone will invest heavily but not take over majority control.

So boils down to basically foot the bill of the promotion while I continue to fuck it up

They already have enough trouble keeping a TV deal. Having skinheads running the company in 2016 is going make it even harder.

I'm not sure how to take this. You're saying having a pair of Neo Nazis running things is better than Dixie Carter?

It's almost laughable how this surprises people, considering the fact that a woman with too much money who never knew anything about wrestling took over a wrestling company. She's like a female version of Ted Turner, except she's not as much of a douchebag.

To think they could have had Toby Keith and Jim motherfucking Ross take this thing over, and now this is were they are.

So TNA.

Not to mention many years ago they had the chance to replace Russo with Heyman. Heyman's creative with the financial security TNA had at the time would have been a dream.

Heyman peaked creatively in 1998. It would've been no different to Bischoff in TNA. Both were creatively spent.

One big difference versus Bischoff/Hogan is that Heyman would have begun cutting old talent and never imported the glut of Hogan's friends that drew too much negative attention to them in early 2010. The Val Venis, Nasty Boys, Orlando Jordan type of people. Heyman at least would have emphasized the homegrown talent in TNA and probably found more. Another is that Bischoff was officially the executive producer and never actually head of creative, whereas Heyman would have received total creative control (with Bischoff as producer, Dixie still had final creative authority). Heyman would likely not have leaned so heavily on Vince Russo (likely he would have fired him immediately, which Dixie protected him from for some time in TNA), whose contribution ultimately led to the demise of the Spike TV deal.

Maybe Paul wouldn't have set the world on fire with amazing angles, but him running TNA would have meant a far larger emphasis on young talent and the end of Dixie/Russo having creative control, both of which would surely have had massive upside for TNA.

I don't know, I'd say his work on Smackdown in the mid 2000s was pretty good too. He took Benoit, Guerrero, and Edge from being basically mid card guys to being main event guys.

Good matches on Smackdown at that time. Nothing really happened though. I'm all for great matches but you need more to sustain a promotion. You need inciting incidents and I think Heyman was all out.

You know, I've said before I want TNA to thrive because I don't want to see all those people lose their jobs. I still think that. But also, the reports that come out of there are pure comedy. I'd miss that near daily chuckle at their expense.

Considering how much of their work TNA outsources now as opposed to doing in-house, I'd say that ship has already sailed. But the people who work(ed) in the marketing and production end have skills which translate elsewhere in the television industry. As far as their on-screen talent goes, and with all respect to the hard work that they've put in through their careers, there's a reason that they're working for TNA in 2016.
At this point I think if we took up a collection on the forums, we could buy TNA.
Flash forwards six months, to where Kickstarter.com announces the purchase of TNA by 23,168 anonymous buyers.

I'd be in for a t-shirt level donation, but I imagine that's how they plan on clearing the warehouse of years worth of unsold Mr. Anderson merchandise.
