Major Heat On Ric Flair, Possibly Done With The Company

There is no reason for TNA to keep him around. He can't wrestle, his public image is steadily going downhill and he has done little to nothing to improve the company while he has been there. Cut your losses, and let Flair be someone else's problem.

Woooooooo! He should've never left wwe! He wanted to keep wrestling! It went no where! Go back to wwe and start the horseman again! Orton, Mason Ryan, Cody, and Bryan! Managed by Flair!

Flair hasn't really done much since Immortal started splintering. If anything he might end up back in WWE, especially since they have deep pockets. But Flair's public image hasn't changed much over the years, still spending more money than he's taken in income. Unpaid bar tabs, that's nothing new. I won't get into him being too old to wrestle, but he does need to dial down on trying to live the Horsemen lifestyle he used to.

id say its time for tna to cut there losses and fire ric flair and wash there hands clean of the whole thing he really hasnt brought much to the table at all there besides being fortune's manager its time for flair to go hes just gonna keep causing problems.

Flair just isn't worth the headaches he causes for the payoff that he delivers.

I've always wondered why WWE allowed him to leave after his retirement tribute, given his legendary status and the notion he could still be an asset to the company even after his career as an active wrestler was over. Maybe WWE was having the same off-hours problems TNA has had with him; perhaps Vince was just better at keeping it out of the news. Or, maybe the problem has gotten worse since he joined the younger company with their permissive ways; WWE might have been more dedicated to riding herd on Flair and keeping him in line.

Presuming that Flair would be living in blissful retirement except that he needs money so badly, it's a shame to think he's blowing whatever he earns with his high-living. Does he really need to be running bar tabs he can't cover? Does he really need to compromise what remains of his health by staying out all hours of the night at his age?

Flair might very well be through with TNA. Whether WWE wants him back will depend on how well they think he will behave with the tighter control offered by WWE. It could be Vince wouldn't be "stealing" Ric from TNA; it might be they're taking him off their hands. Of course, that's if they're considering having him back at all.

At any rate, it could be he has no place in any organization anymore, wrestling or not. The idea of having to monitor the behavior of a man in his 60's is offensive to consider. Rather than the old-timer pointing the right way to younger performers, the company has to tell the young bulls: "Live right if you don't want to end up like this guy."

If WWE and TNA won't have Ric Flair, what does he do? The prospect of him hiring himself out to minor federations that perform at high school gyms in West Virginia is sad and degrading to consider.

It's distasteful.....and a damn shame, because Ric Flair apparently might have exhausted his chances to work in the only industry he's ever known.

Id say Flair hasn't done much since going to TNA in January 2010. Im not really surprised about this as he has a LONG History of this stuff over the years. He is a Legend and well respected but its time for him to tone down the 1980's lifestyle.

So let me get this straight...

Ric is having various problems in the local restaurants and watering holes. He's engaging in "inappropriate behavior" on a regular basis. He's also gone so far as to leave without paying bar tabs, expecting the company (or a representative thereof) to foot the presumably large bill. When confronted about said behavior or denied his requests, he's pulling the "celebrity" card and says he's used to getting treated better by much bigger companies.

I hate to quote Michael Cole, but this is vintage Ric Flair. What in the world did TNA think they were getting when they signed him? Why do they think Flair went to Daddy Carter directly for his contract as opposed to dealing with Dixie and the folks below her? Simple, he believes he is on a higher level (professionally, personally, et. al.) than them. He's Ric Flair... don't they know that?

Flairs reputation precedes him and the reason Ric Flair works so well as a character is because it is deeply tied and downright entangled into Richard Fliehr the person. He could be 90 years old and, assuming he's still alive, he'd still think of himself as the jet flying, limousine riding, kiss stealing, wheeling dealing, son of a gun. TNA was nuts to think he'd behave himself and be just another boy on the roster, despite whatever financial troubles he might be having. They had to have known they'd be forced to cater to Flair at least sometimes, if not on a daily basis.

The best solution for all involved, despite my thoughts of him managing Garrett Bischoff and what that could possibly do for the kids career, is for TNA to cut the cord or come to some type of amicable separation. Flair believes he's bigger than TNA. TNA feels that Flair ultimately doesn't deliver on the price tag they've paid for him. WWE has shown that they have open arms when considering Flair's return to the company in some type of regular capacity.

It's time for TNA to let Flair go. It's time for Flair to move on.

He's doing less and less in the company to progress things, he seems to have evidently lost a lot of the initial drive which made hiring him seem like a good prospect initially. It 2012 and Flair is still living in 1987.

Perhaps it is time to close down space mountain. His legacy is established and what he's done won't be undone, not by his petty philandering at this age. Perhaps it's time he were forcibly moved on. If you are being payed to provide a service and aren't doing so, you shouldn't be payed. HOF legends like Flair deserve a bit of leniency, and he has had that, but if it's to the point of him giving nothing back TNA need to let go, and Flair need to let go, that money could be better used elsewhere.

Big fan of flair, but he's acting like a fool as of late, he's causing more trouble than he worth and both sides should part ways and tna should use that money to bring in someone with name value to the casual fan.

But i got news for you, WWE won't put up with him and his public antics either for long because he has nothing more to bring to the table other than a mentor

Sooner or later he is destined for a return to the WWE. Whether it be as an ambassador, an authority figure, a manager or an on-screen role we all know that Ric was flattered by the fan's reaction at the Hall of Fame. He even stated in that slightly controversial WrestleMania weekend interview that he felt as though his final match was with Shawn Michaels despite having competed in a TNA ring six times.

I love Ric Flair, I'm not a person that feels as though we can judge whether he should stop wrestling or appearing on television, after forty years of being one of professional wrestling's crown jewels he deserves the right to decide what he wants to do and where he wants to work. He came to TNA and brought some extra name recognition, he had some of the best promo's and was the leader of Fortune who many have highly praised as a great stable during their peak. Flair brought what he could to TNA but at this point he can't bring much more.

Although I'm kind of disheartened he won't be appearing on Impact Wrestling anymore; I assume, I can see why TNA would do away with him. Not only is it cutting costs due to his contract but it allows Ric to do what we all know he wants to do, work with the WWE, the company that possess the entire Ric Flair catalog and has placed him in the Hall of Fame twice. It's a case of the sweet with the sour, the sweet being Ric Flair will probably return to the WWE, the sour being he is done with TNA.

seriously speaking, im glad that this may end with his firing. TNA keeping flair around this long was a mistake. Hell I would've sent his ass packing after his 2nd diva like moment. ticket sales at house shows and what not isnt worth havng to put up w this amount of shit

I don't think he is worth his likely price tag. He probably needs to hit rock bottom if he is ever going to kick his habits. I doubt he will ever learn though and if/when TNA cuts their ties with him WWE will give him a short run of some kind then ROH, then maybe TNA again. The circle of diminishing paychecks will continue. Maybe there is a place for him on the WWE network or something. Hell of a talent but it is a shame he can't stop living the gimmick.

fuck tna, ric flair was always and will always be bigger than that second rate promotion. I mean if one of the best if not the best wrestler of all time wants you to pick up his bar tab, you pick up his bar tab.

Time for a Flair to take over TNA storyline. Time to book a story where Flair "shoots" on TNA and their uptight leadership. Have him hitting on Knockouts and having cocktails at ringside. Velvet Sky should leave his dressing room in nothing but one of his old robes.

Have wrestlers join up with him behind the idea that they are with TNA to fight and party on the road, if they wanted to be in bed at 10pm and meet a dress code they would try to get a job with "that corporation in Connecticut".

Or Flair should just get a job hosting on the WWE Network or being a greeter at the WWE Hall of Fame (if these things ever exist).

Flair is the Rourke character from The Wrestler - he's been divorced many many times, wrestled during the peak years when big paydays where common yet he is always broke and broken.

The only way Flair will ever leave the spotlight is in a body bag and he will do it without a penny to his name and bill collectors getting in line to fight for the scraps. In his defense if I had survived that plane crash I would probably feel I was living on borrowed time and live every day like it was my last.

The nightmare could only go on for so long before TNA had to put a stop to it. Ric Flair is an old man who is decades past his prime when it comes to performing in the ring. While he does carry a ton of name value and is still one of the industry's best on the mic (making him a good manager, authority figure, etc.), he's not worth it given all the trouble he causes.

Flair doesn't really bring anything to the table anymore, and TNA can save some money by not having him be part of their company. Flair is now part of their back catalogue and that will help with DVD sales or whatever down the track. Flair is getting worse every day and he is really a liability now.

I just hope TNA get something for allowing him to go to the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony earlier in the year...

It's only a matter of time before he's back in the WWE for his remaining years. Even when he left for TNA, you knew he was going to be back eventually. All we do now is wait for the news.

So let me get this straight. It's horrible, and stupid if Flair's in TNA; yet if he goes back to "The E", it's pure genius on Vince's part? Even though he'll bring the exact same shit he was doing in TNA? I can just see all the "E" idiots going nuts on his debut, just like they blew their load over Nash appearing at the Rumble. By the way, how did that Nash wwe run work out? I suppose it's all Hogan's fault too that Flair didn't help Impact as much as they were hoping.

Now is a good time for Ric Flair to go back to WWE and be a manager. He still has the mic chops and enough toughness that he can mix it up once in a while. I wouldn't want to see him in the ring anymore but to be a manager would be cool.

good. Flair may have been one of the greatest at one time but he needs to grow up. he had brought very little to TNA - showing up at the Hall of Fame while still under contract to TNA shows just how little he thinks of them. let him go, spend that money on some good talent and never look back. can't wait until he gets back to the wwe and whines about how TNA treated him.

"Flair's old, Flair's tired, Flair's past his prime, Flair's washed up" blah, blah, blah. I am sure Dixie Carter was reportedly paying Ric Flair a reported $30,000 per appearance because she echoed those exact sentiments concerning "The Nature Boy." The absolute ignorance I've read over the last 3 pages is mind-numbing. He's Ric Flair. Forget the fact that I think he's the greatest of all time. He's one of the most recognizable people in the history of the wrestling business; an elite class consisting of Austin, Rock, Hogan, and Flair. Flair repeatedly stated he never wanted to leave WWE - it was simply a matter of wanting to keep a guaranteed contract (which was reportedly $500,000 a year) while still being able to take outside, independent bookings. Granted, that is a bit excessive - so they parted ways amicably. Flair is a proven commodity as opposed to these glorified indy spot monkeys. I'm glad he's finally done with TNA and he will have the opportunity to come back home to WWE. Now all I need is Hogan and Angle to be done (I'd hold out hope for Sting, but I'd be wasting my time) so I didn't have to waste my time reading Impact spoilers to see if I had to YouTube their segments.

Perfect example of a WWE Knob that has absolutely no clue about anything. Keep sucking that Vince cock.
