Madden's New Editorial...

I agreed with every single word spoken, for the very first time.

Shocking, I know. But I tell ya, I also think that:

- It's absolutely moronic of TNA and Dixie to continue to keep the man who has just decided to plead guilty on multple drug trafficing charges and possibly faces a long stretch in the big house Weazy-style, as their world heavyweight champion. What happens if he does get jail time, are TNA gonna disrupt all their programming and devote two weeks of iMPACT and Explosion to him in a Eddie Guerrero-like tribute show? It's not beyond them at this state.

- Brock doesn't need to fight in UFC anymore, his health problems and the fact that he has probably made all the money he wanted to make in MMA and now realizes that the money and the situation favors him back with Uncle Vinny. Plus, can you imagine what this would do for WWE, nay, pro-wrestling as a whole? One of the biggest top athletes in the world dropping real fighting to go back to the fake stuff? The name value he has is enough.

- I would give an arm and an ear to see Kong enter a storyline where he is clamoring for a chance to win Dashing Cody Rhodes' heart, only to be rejected by DCR. The sight of Kong ripping through Rhodes like warm butter would be the tenth wonder of the world.

There's hope for you yet Mark.

I've only read the first page of this so far. There are a few things he's not considering or at least mentioning:

1. TNA knew about these charges when they hired him. This isn't comparable to Lebron or A-Rod as those two would have been surprises or would also have already been hired when the case went to trial, assuming we're using the same example as with Hardy. This stage of it could be considered a relief for TNA in a sense as they can get it over with and get it behind them. They knew Hardy wasn't a guaranteed long term resource so they're trying to get what they can out of him while they can.

2. He's assuming TNA wasn't being kept up to date on this as it happened. Does he think Jeff didn't tell his bosses that he was going to plead guilty? Does he think TNA goes online to get news on one of their top stars? I know TNA can be inept at times but they're smarter than that.

On to page 2.

Ok in his first paragraph on the second page, Madden talks about fans talking about fans making decisions for wrestlers and talking about what they should do. You mean, LIKE WHAT MADDEN IS PAID TO WRITE COLUMNS ABOUT?

The problem with the whole Lesnar at Mania thing is simple: it's called he's under contract to UFC. If he was going to be a free agent or had the blessings of White then what Madden is saying is fine. If Lesnar is under contract to UFC still (which he is) then yeah, MMA fans have something to complain about. It's called breaking a contract and bailing for more money. Again, if Lesnar's contract had expired, Madden's argument is fine. While he's still signed to UFC, it's not fine.

And what he says about Kong is fine and more or less common sense that I could write with better jokes for less pay but then again I wasn't a commentator on a dying promotion 11 years ago so what do I know?
