No but fans have always known that they were an essential part of the show. If they don't boo a new heel he gets buried.The same applies if they don't cheer for a new face. It can be debated that it is the fault of the wrestlers themselves but don't tell me TNA hasn't had any influence on how fans react now a days.

Yes but he was still over, and as the champ. Also he defended it twice and both times he was cheered.
I for one am looking forward to HHH being Champ. Enjoy it people, he won't hold it long. I think he's gonna have a bunch of short reigns coming up, now that Flair os out of the way, HHH wants 17 championship reigns, and I HATE to say he gets what he wants, but I think this might be one of those times.

You're being idiotically literal. I don't mean that people boo SIMPLY because he's holding the belt. The fans turn on him. They get sick of him, just like when he held the time basically non-stop from Sept. 2002- March 2004 and then hogged the title scene for months until he got the belt back in Sept. 2004 and held it til April 2005 and then hogged the title scene til July 2005. It was beyond heel heat. The fans were tired of HHH. In fact the only reason he started getting cheered again was because Cena started hogging the title scene.

I don't see why 16 is always regarded as the record.Hulk hogan held a world title on at least 20 occasions, and i think Jerry Lawler holds the record with 23 world titles. So does it really matter if HHH wins 17?

That I can agree with you on, as I was one of those people. I simply couldn't stand him back then. Don't get me wrong he's not my favorite wrestler but I do think that he's the best option right now to hold the title. I hated Cena more than i ever hated HHH because at least HHH had talent. All Cena can do is sell t-shirts.
I actually would have liked it better though if HHH had gone over to smackdown to fued with taker for the belt but W.E.

I would definitely want to see another HBK verses Taker match before they retire. It's been a long time coming and they have been hinting at it for the past 2 royal rumbles.

IDK I never liked him. IMO the only thing he ever did that I liked was his c-4 finisher, and now he doesn't even do that any more.
