Live Discussion: Final Four

Them player of the year awards went to him because he is not a freshman, everybody knows that, Beasley should have been the player of the year, look at the numbers, nobody wanted to give it to a freshman again, so Hansbrough got em.
Please. Weren't you the one who just made a case for a player's team's success? And you want to give it to Beasely?

Just because Beasley plays on an inferior team, doesn't make him the better player.

Hansbrough will do nothing in the NBA, Rose and Beasley will be stars.
What the fuck does playing in the NBA have to do with one college season?

Playing in the NBA? It has to do with who is the better player, thats what it has to do. Oh and the Beasley comment was in regard to the Player of the Year awards that Hansbrough has won, he shouldn't have one them, that honor should go to Beasley. Beasley's numbers say he was the player of the year and that was on a team with only two quality players, which meant he was double or triple teamed most of the time.

When it comes to the teams success, yeah Rose is also better than Hansbrough, the Player of the Year doesn't always go to the best player because most freshman dont have numbers like Durant and Beasley had, Rose didn't have numbers deserving of player of the year, but he is still better than Hansbrough. He was able to lead his team farther than Hansbrough and put forth better numbers in the most important game of the season.

Player of the Year has to do with who had the better year, not who will be a better NBA basketball player.

No, they shouldn't.

Hansbrough averaged 23 points and 10 rebounds on a team that had much more talent, meaning less opportunities for numbers, a team which only lost 3 games all year.

Beasley's numbers say he was the player of the year and that was on a team with only two quality players, which meant he was double or triple teamed most of the time.
No, it means he got to shoot all the time.

Who won Player of the Year last year?

Kevin Durant? A freshman? You must be kidding!

Age has nothing to do with it, just quality of play. I'm not saying that Beasley or Rose aren't good, just that Hansbrough is better.

He was able to lead his team farther than Hansbrough
Yeah, I'm sure Joey Dorsey and Chris Douglas Roberts had nothing to do with that. :lmao:

and put forth better numbers in the most important game of the season.
The fact you have to rely on one game, in which the two teams didn't even play each other, to prove your point, shows how weak your argument is.

So you are telling me that Hansbrough is a better basketball player that Rose or Beasley. If you had to choice to have either Beasley, Rose or Hansbrough, you would choose Hansbrough, that would be rediculous.

Your argument about Hansbrough being on a better team, so having less opportunities doesn't make sense. Yes Beasley's team had less talent, so when Hansbrough was being guarded one on one because his team was so good that they couldn't double as often as Beasley, Beasley had two or even three guys on him. So it is more incredible that Beasley had the numbers he did. Beasley led his team past Kansas during the regular season, look at the talent difference there, it takes a great player to make up for that talent difference.

Regarding Beasley just tossing up shots, he shot 53% from the field this year, so he wasn't just throwing shots up there, he was making his shots.

When it comes to Rose, isn't your argument against Beasley that Hansbrough's team had a better record and made it farther than Beasley's?? Its basically the same argument I have for Rose, his team has a better record and made it farther than Hansbrough's team did. So if that makes Hansbrough better than Beasley, why cant it make Rose better than Hansbrough??

And everybody knows that Rose is the leader of his team, he sets up most of the shots for Dougals-Roberts, and Dorsey scored zero points against UCLA, he is a big part of there defensive success, but Rose is what makes there whole team run.

Yup.

Calipari can eat his words now. Boy is he going to look like an ass in the media tomorrow :lmao:

BIG 12 REPRESENT! CHEA.

Well I picked Kansas to win it all, but you have to give Kansas credit for making the three, I know Memphis missed the free thorws, but they didn't completely blow it, Kansas earned it with that three.

Yeah, 6M signing bonus at your alma mater is too much. He'll leave.

LOL.

No, Memphis lost it, Kansas didn't win it. They completely folded down the stretch, they make a good stand on Collins going to the bucket, get back to the line and choke. Get a HUGE rebound, get back to the line and choke. Then got off balance defensively to allow the shot, Memphis lost it IF they even lose.

Well they did blow it by missing the free throws, but Kansas earned it by making clutch shots, you know what I am saying.

And yeah, he is making like 1.5 million a year at Kansas, they let Roy Williams leave, they will let Self leave too.
