Kofi losing popularity, can he still get to a World Title at this point?

As far as Kofi goes he will be forever screwed, He will never get any title other than ECW if he is lucky. and when it comes to non- mediocre Titles, he will always JOB. look at what happened in the Elimination chamber match. He was attacked by Edge and then did not compete. I hate to do this but Who was the last Afro-anything champion that we have seen and Mark Henry in ECW does not Count. Afro american speaking here.

Get rid of the Jamaican remains that still latch on to him. He needs new music, he is no longer using the Jamaican gimmick, so get rid of the reggae. Also for his ring attire, just let it be the "Kofi smiley" which is his logo, don't surround with flags. Its fine as is.

So lets say they do all these things. Which is way more than just wishful thinking in my opinion. Could you see Kofi ever becoming either WWE champion or World Heavyweight champion? It could happen.

To be honest since his move to RAW in the 2008 draft, Kofi has not done to badly, and his career has done nothing but progress. His push is regressing because WWE wont fix the small problems that end up having a major side effects if you will.

Anyway if they fix these problems Kofi has, and the crowd is into him completely I don't see why they wouldn't put a major strap on him.

However if they don't fix the problems, they will shoot down so much of "what could have been".

Yes very very true.
I know im not the only one that feels his Theme Music is not helping the character he now portrays. Having a Jamaican beat when Kofis character is now an African American (Im from NZ so not sure how to say what nationality is unoffensively) is hardly helping his aura or characteristics. His in ring attire is fine its not so yellow and green as he had going for him ,his looks fine and I enjoy his little hairdo he has going.
But when his music hits and hes announced and runs under the titantron all enthusiastic and happy before a match with Orton etc.. it kind of feels that hes playing both his former character and slightly the character he evolved into. Immediately after he gave that promo and had his match the following week he came out normally but had a angry face on him.

Maybe give him a theme similar to Booker T's if thats any indication and a ring presence like Booker had?
Apart from that I can see that this will be the year Kofi hits the big one and does become a World Champion.

Thats exactly why their pushing Kofi for that spot. Last person I can remember was Booker T and that was three years ago..

The elimination match was just for him to get attacked,he had no point being inside a chamber at all. That was a clear job because watching that made me think 'why put Kofi in such a high staked match".
Hes over with the crowd but he needs to have help dropping his setbacks as what this threads about.

The only way for Kingston to win a world title is if WWE continued his bad ass gimmick. After he trashed Orton's car thats all people were talking about because now that he's lost the accent his persona can go any way.

Now about the world tittle if hes pushed as the bad ass then he can win world titles because you never get a successful Happy-Go-Lucky Champion. While he had the Jamaican accent he was given no Mic time whatsoever as the bad ass I expect a decent amount.

I'm a huge Kofi fan, I don't think he's losing popularity though, when the feud between him & Orton started he had the "don't screw with me" attitude & did the murder of the NASCAR promo:), his character should of stayed like that. After that promo everyone loved it & wanted to hear him cut more promos cause was the NASCAR one was impressive.LET THE MAN TALK!!! That's the problem he doesn't get to talk on the mic a lot. He needs a change in theme music, but everything else is fine.

I don't know if Kofi is necessarily losing a large enough amount of popularity for it to be an issue right now. He's still over, and still a potential future world champion. The promo where he damaged the car was really impressive and I agree with those who said he should continue in that direction. He needs to be angrier. Kofi can have an angrier character and remain a face. He could keep his entrance theme and pyro the way they are, as well as keep his in ring style the same, while being more of a badass on the mic. That's his biggest problem at the moment, and even there he has improved tenfold ever since being allowed to speak as himself rather than with the fake accent.

Kofi can definitely still get a world title at some point because he is still young and already over enough that he will be in the world title scene one day as long as things keep going the way they have for him lately, he is on the right track.

Randy Orton has got a title shot against Sheamus for the wwe title in the middle of his fued with Kofi Kingston. Now I am wondering where will WWE go with this after they just gave him a massive puush into main eventing (or almost).

I have a 3 theories wwe could do:

1) Put Kofi back in the mid card (not a wise idea as I like Kofi and I think he should stay main eventing for a while but probably will after his little botch on raw)

2)John Cena is also out of a fued so perhaps they could entangle a Cena vs Kofi fued somehow with one going heel which I think would be good.

3)Somehow get Kofi into the match at Royal Rumble making it a triple threat match, I think this would get Kofi looking much more serious and make the crowd actually cheer him.

Discuss what you think they are going to do, I'd like to see what other people think they might do with Kofi.

I think that right now kofis push has showed hes not ready for main eventing a ppv yet. Everytime he had a match that was the spotlight of raw he had several botches per match. He's still rusty on the mic. And he needs more time since he never had a great run with a mid card title. Somehow get him the ECW championship while he is talking. The problem when he was champion before is he didnt say too words. I feel he still needs more of a build before he goes after the titles. If you want a good solution for kofi it is simple. Have punk and drew gallows beat dx for the tag titles then at the next two ppvs (elimination chamber and wrestlemania) have a punk vs kofi tag team fued since they held a championship together. Use evan bourne as kofis partener and it will be golden. Because right now punk is the last peace needed to put kofi over, end of story due to the history of those two coming up into wwe.

Dude, the Kingston Orton feud is over. If you recall Orton and Kofi had one last match 2 weeks ago to decide who the victor of the feud was. And Orton came out on top with a squeaky clean victory.

Discuss what you think they are going to do, I'd like to see what other people think they might do with Kofi.

I think there gonna have Kofi get into another Upper Mid-Card feud. And I'm looking forward to it. At this point I can't tell if the WWE wants to push him. But his feud with Orton did wonders for his career. He had his first classic MSG moment with that leg drop from the crowd place thingy. And he got victories over Orton and Punk in one night at Survivor Series, making him even more credible.

So with all that steam i think it's best WWE keeps him in the Upper Mid-Card. And I think in just a few more months he'll be fully capable of main eventing. That is all.
