Kizarny - Dizone?

Life's A Bitch, And Then You Mosh
Kizarny's huge build-up to appearing on TV, only led to him appearing in a match a grand total of one time.

Not only was it just that one time, but it was awful. I had heard great things about his in-ring skills, and immediately wanted to slap the person who told me this. His promos were god-awful leading up to the debut, and he only beat MVP because he was in the middle of a losing streak angle.

Is Kizarny done? He hasn't been on TV since, and has no reason to be on TV again. He may pop up at the Rumble, and if he is, will probably be the guy eliminated after 10 seconds. I don't see him coming back. If he does, it's going to be after a long time down with FCW working on something (anything) new.

Kizarney was bound to be a bust on arrival. Though I like the decidedly "old-school" idea of really building up a character before his debut, the quality and direction of the vignettes screamed old guard WCW. The settings, the stock footage, the fact that his mic work was all carney speak... How was he supposed to get over again?

Hopefully the guy can be reworked/repackaged, catch a break and really show something special. Otherwise, I'm sure he'll be relegated to the 2008-2009 version of Glacier. At least Ray Lloyd had the incredible popularity of Mortal Kombat to somewhat capitalize on when WCW stuck him with that awful gimmick. When was the last time a carney was in the national spotlight?

I agree. Kizarny was built up so much as simply a novelty. There's no way i can see this guy going far in the WWE. Maybe he has the talent to go far, but with a gimmick like that, i wouldn't hold my breath

I didn't even see his match but I heard it was awful. I'd heard great things about him, even from Edge who claims he's one of his best friends and was hopeful he'd get a break because he was talented, but the promos did nothing to inspire me and if what I hear about the match is anything to go by, this guy is either being horrifically mis-used, or Edge is being a little too kind about his friend.

The man is solid...when he was competing as Synn in OVW, he was just fine.

But this gimmick blows. The audience can not connect to him in any way. Two weeks ago after a house show, I had the pleasure of meeting Ricky Steamboat, who was the primary agent for the show that night. We got to talking about Kizarny and he just bluntly asked us "what am I supposed to do with this guy?" We said he could blow fire but someone has done that before...which got a chuckle.

But seriously, if their own agents can't even come up with something for them to do...the gimmick is a bust.

He was at the SD show on Sunday wrestling the FCW Champion. He came out to absolute silence, and this was a crowd of mainly kids. His match was boring as hell, although partially because the opponent was god awful, but he did next to nothing but some comedy antics to help himself out. After the match he tangoed with the announcer that got a decent laugh. He's built around his character, but that's not saying much. He's gone more than likely outside of a Rumble appearence and then he's done.

Yeah ... there is little doubt that Kizarny is done. I was so confused by this gimmick and why they were bringing him in at all like this.
I also had heard he had good in-ring skills, but he did nothing to impress me. I think the fact that he always talks in "carny speak" also hurts as you cannot even tell what the hell he is saying. Terrible gimmick and might have just ruined any future this guy may or may not have had.

I don't think he lacks ring ability, he just lacks execution. I pity a man for landing this terrible gimmick? Whoever came up with this idea should be fired, like whoever told Kane to lose his mask.

If I'm honest with this, I truly hope he's just slightly repackaged and then sent to E.C.W. I know that E.C.W. is kinda becoming the home of the misfit toys and all, with all the reject gimmicks it seems to be taking on, but KizArny and the Boogeyman seem to me like they'd have one hell of a fucked up feud.

But it's a feud that'll keep both busy, and if they're both (especially the Boogeyman) going to be used, they might as well be used in a meaningful way.

I think both guys could feud for a bit, then one of lose and disappear, only to return and ultimately side with the other. I know it could sound extremely stupid, but both guys are so weird and frankly stupid with their characters, that it only makes perfect sense to pair them up as a Tag Team sooner or later.

Maybe they can put all these weird ass gimmicks together into a second coming of the oddities, and dump them all on Smackdown, since it's supposed to be a kids show. Kizarny sounds pizzerfect for it.

Granted it was during attitude, but the kids loved all those freaks together...remember ICP joined up too?

To be honest...I could really care less. I mean for fucks sake. His promos are the most horrible thing to sit through. I might enjoy them if I was smoking dope or some shit. Plus his in ring work is kind of sloppy. He doesnt even have a good look. Which isnt bad seeing as it worked out for Punk. BUT, he looks odd. Not superstar material whatsoever. I he were to get released. I honestly would give a shit less.

He was destined to sink from the beginning. An old school build up is not going to work in today's "Do It Now, I Want It Now" generation. He needs to hit the gym a tad bit. And worst of all, he looks like the love child of Michael 'P.S.' Hayes and Exotic Adrian Street.

Promos are a huge part of your character. How the hell do you get over talking like a tool? Really, at least Ultimate Warrior spoke some English.
This guy is saddled with the dumbest promo setup since they said Matt Morgan had a stutter.
What moron thought this 'karny-speak' crap would get over?
Stizupid Jizackoff!!

While I personally liked the concept of his character but the WWE had to make him a watered down, annoying, freak. The carny talk was pointless and if the fans couldn't understand his promos it's not going to help get over(it works for monster heels like Khali, Kozlov but not faces). Also the carny talk was just annoying and made you hate him.

The WWE should have made him a dark, broody, heel instead of a Boogeyman type comedy freak. Add in the fact his wrestling skills were average, I think he didn't have a good chance. But then again the WWE promoted him for weeks on smackdown, but in the end they dropped the ball on his character and overall apeal.

poor friggen kizarny. creatuve gave him a shitty concept to work with but i mean it couldve been worst like who really expected him to win the u.s title....let alone any title i mean expectations weren't through the roof for him almost everyone knew it would fail but i mean it was an intresting concept maybe if he was a heel cause the match against mvp he was so sloppy in the ring and just weird not even like good weird and the crowd was DEAD SILENT.he shouldent have been a face but oh well back to the drawing board for creative.

i was at the tapings the day of his debut and holy fuck!n $hit. people were dead during that match except for the drunk guys in the first row. his entrance walk is the weirdest thing someone can do and his skills, if you consider them that, are extremely poor. they must get this dude high as the sky before each match to prevent him from killing himself. seriously, iv never seen such a bad "creative" concept for a superstar in my entire life. evn doink the clown was better than this guy. A FU*KING CLOWN. wwe has run out of ideas, thats what it has come down to.

I think he should be slightly repackaged. Make him unable to feel pain, make him a dark heel. His carny-talk should only be used occasionally. (E.G. "My name is Kizarny. Hizello to all you people. I am gizoing to win the Rizoyal Rumble.") I like the idea of a feud with The Boogeyman. They could both cut creepy promos and play mind games. Or, they could team up...

I like the whole "crazy guy" angle for Kizarny that's being talked about. I don't think he should "not feel pain" though. Maybe something more akin to the original Mankind persona... he definitely feels it, but he kinda likes it. For example, although he gets hit with a big move, you see a glimmer of a smile on his face or he starts laughing while he's screaming in pain... that kind of stuff.

As stated, the carny talk could work in short bursts but there has to be something more to it. Give it a little depth or a "history." Have Kizarny do it "accidently" in promos, catching himself, then becoming extremely frusturated... possibly harmming himself when he does it. The backstory of course being that something traumatic happened to him while he was working the carnival scene, it's something now ingrained in his personality, yet something he absolutely can't stand. Make the audience wonder what it was. If the character gets over, the "hows" and "whys" could be an integral part of Kizarny's development over the years.

Generally though, Kizarny needs to be a dark heel much in the vain of the original Doink the Clown, just taken up a few "psychotic" notches... again, similar to Foley's original portrayal of Mankind. In the now PG-rated universe of WWE, I'm not sure this is a possibility though.

The thing is not so much his gimmick, but how they use his gimmick.

I said it before and I'll say it again, he needs to play a sinister heel. Rightly or wrongly, I see Carney's as the US equivalent of our Gypseys, who, again rightly or wrongly, have a bad reputation over here for being rough. That combined with all the urban myths we get over here about them, that sort of character would be blinding.

The sort of heel that gets stick from the other wrestlers, and doesn't do anything about it at the time. But runs in from the crowd and attacks them mid match, or after the match, but isn't going with a straight up beat down, or high impact moves, attacking things like eyes. A lot of the guys don't mind blading, so why not use that and have the guy visibly cut someone. He can use the same techniques, and be just as careful as he would be if he was doing it secretly. But a guy that runs in and hacks at someones face in a frenzy is a better character than this lame attempt at a face

God, this guy better not come back. His promos were ******ed. How can you relate to a guy who talks like he's mental? Well, perhaps that's offensive to mental people. It doesn't matter, the guy was an idiot. I didn't see his match, but if it was bad, then he should not be brought back. That gimmick relied on him having great wrestling skills, otherwise he had nothing going for him. A crap gimmick, no wrestling skills, a stupid look, no relation to the crowd and not being funny all leads up to the most publicity this guy will ever get, his own Future Endeavoured article on wwe.com.

i agree tom, i think the gimmick could work, but they need to get rid of the carny language, and make him be a messed up sick son of a bitch.

like doink was when he first came to the wwe
