I just finished Final Battle. At what point are companies, in particular ROH, going to stop pushing Cody due to his last name? I get he is a former WWE guy so he has name value, but what has he done since leaving to warrant being such a huge name on the indy circuit? If putting on slightly above average matches, having a gimmick that is basically "my family is famous so I deserve stuff," and forcing companies to book your wife makes you a top draw, then the indy scene is kinda poop. Then again, ROH just put in their most profitable year ever with Cody as champ for six months, so what do I know?

I think that shift is starting. Cody's not great (though not bad) in-ring abilities are well known at this point and it seems to be toning down.

I know it was teased a whole hell of a lot, but was Tyson vs Austin ever a real possibility for Wrestlemania 14?

Was the whole "the Nevada State Athletic Commission won't let Tyson fight" a legit reason for why it never happened or was it just an excuse for not putting Tyson in the ring?

What was your reaction to Shawn overselling against Hogan at SummerSlam 2005?

I really didn't think anything of it. Just Shawn being Shawn and it's not like Hogan has any room to complain about being over the top.

How excited are you for the return of the XFL?

Well, given that I have a Las Vegas Outlaws license plate on my wall and it's been there since the XFL was originally around, I'll let you figure that out for yourself.

Oh please say you've got that jersey put away somewhere.

Never a real idea that I've heard of. Now Hogan vs. Tyson in 1990 was seriously considered.

It's funny that you mentioned this because Meltzer in the 90s on twitter posted this 10 minutes ago.

"Even though Hogan has told friends he thinks he could beat Tyson, realistically inside of a ring, it's doubtful he'd last past one good punch. [2/90]"

Why weren’t Sting and Hogan used at Starrcade 1998? I’ve briefly read that Sting was going through personal demons and wanted time off tv but it took me a lot to find that so unsure how true that is. I’m aware Hogan kayfabe retired on thanksgiving but seriously, he came back on the 4th of January.

Again I’m finding it hard to find out about this stuff but by having matches like Saturn/Cat, Smiley/Iaukea and probably the worst tag team match (in terms of names) in history instead of putting guys like Booker T, Benoit and Bret Hart on the card as well as two guys who battle each other weekly to be the second biggest star in the company, could this be the worst ‘big show’ in history and somehow worse than the Starrcade 1997.

Hogan was basically on vacation, which happened a lot for him (see also Starrcade 1995).

It's not worse, but it's a completely unique kind of bad.

do you think the fact that ECW matches were No DQ, Helped or hurt ECW? i mean if they started The exact time they did with everything the exact same except rules were more like WWE where a no dq match only happened once in a while do you think ECW would of lasted Longer? Shorter? the same?
