How amateur hour were JR and Barnett during the G1 Special? JR was especially terrible. You'd think they would have done some homework before calling such an important show, no?

Yeah that was bad. On the second one Ross called Zack Sabre Jr. the TWG World Champion.

I guess it was the Impact after Bound For Glory 2010, right? When the "They" storyline happened.

Yeah that one was WAY low.

I get that its a match that had to happen because of the way they split and it was booked the way it needed to be booked but what exactly did the Cass and Enzo match achieve? Enzo was made to look like shit (he is but thats not the point) and Cass has only beaten a dog shit Enzo. Nobody has gained anything from that result but Enzo has lost everything because he's been made to look like he cant do anything

It gives you a few things.

1. Closure. Cass definitively defeated him and can now move on.

2. Proof that Cass was right. He's clearly the muscle of the team and doesn't need Enzo.

3. A downgrade for Enzo, perhaps to 205 Live.

You wrote in your review that there was no update regarding Strowman. Kurt did actually give an update before he introduced Brock last night.

Along the lines of, "Braun refused medical treatment. I don't know if and when he will return. As the old saying goes, the show must go on."

There's speculation that the person was talking on the phone to, where he finished with "I love you," could be Dixie Carter. Supposedly they will be appearing on Raw together next week. Two part question, assuming it's Carter:

1) Is this just a big FU to GFW/Impact?
2) Would your head explode so quickly you'd actually feel no pain? Or would that require Claire Lynch to get involved?

That's hardly the kind of update I was expecting when they had a graphic for it multiple times and acted like it was going to be a major segment.

Eh not really but it'd be more of a joke than anything else.

Nah. Given that I'd bet a small stack of possum fat that it's Stephanie, I'm not too worried about it.

Have you ever considered making an app for your website?

Why does Reigns get the #1 contender's match with Joe instead of Strowman?

Nah. Nowhere near tech savvy enough for that.

Injuries, but more importantly, because he's Roman Reigns.

I love that the Attitude Era has become the Christmas of WWE as it's now overtaking eras around it because it's just too big to contain.

Ofc. He said all of it in like 10 seconds. Most probably, Vince and Co. probly arent sure as yet what the ME for SummerSlam will be and perhaps with how things have gone, they might want to end up featuring all 4 guys and so are keeping their actual plans on the down low, hence the low key vague update.

Well of course it's going to be Stephanie. She hasn't gone on a power trip in a while. She's having withdrawals. It's just fun to speculate.

Any idea what Graves's involvement will be?

Well Meltzer says in his latest audio show that the plan still remains Lesnar vs. Reigns one on one at Summerslam as of this week, unless Joe's performance last 2 nights changes Vince's and the others' minds and it becomes a triple threat. Take it for what it's worth.

Time to get curious:

You've mentioned before that WWE has a incredible track record of survival. The kind that not too many companies seem to possess. My question is, what can other promotions learn from WWE in terms of surviving and in some cases thriving in the wrestling industry?

I wouldn't be surprised. Relieved but surprised.

Not much as no other company has the same circumstances. You can't fairly compare anything to WWE and that's been the case for a long time.

Just finished watching the Kurt Angle mini-doc and I had watched the KO one a couple days ago, both which are fantastic.

What's your favorite wrestling related documentary or even autobiography/memoir etc?

Rise and Fall of ECW is great, even if I didn't care for the company.

If Delberto is found guilty of domestic abuse, how do you imagine Impact/GFW handles that, given they've taped two months in advance with him as champion?

Probably strip him of the title over something they make up. Then again these charges wouldn't go to trial for months.

Do you think Heyman will ever have another client? I'm not talking about the half hearted attempts like Cesaro or Curtis Axel or Ryback or even that Heyman Stable with Brock and Albert and Matt Morgan and....Nathan Jones? Who was the 4th guy there? Anyway, I'm talking a legit guy like Brock and to a lesser extent Punk? Should he have another client one day?

I read this story a few days ago about Flair leaving WCW in the early 90s for the WWE. It mentioned a bunch of stuff that the company wanted him to do, like drop the title, shave his head, wear a gaudy diamond earring, and become a new character named Sparticus. Why? I can understand the stuff that Jim Herd did like removing him from the booking team after the whole Black Scorpion stuff wasn't setting the world on fire, but why try to change one of the most iconic men of the sport?

Another thing I read pertained to Mark Henry. I knew he had zero wrestling experience when Vince signed him to that unheard of guaranteed contract, but most of what I remember about Henry from those days was the awful, mostly sexual, storylines he was put in. They speculated that the reason Henry was subjected to all those awful segments and stories despite having a legitimate background was in an attempt to embarrass him into quitting to get out from his contract. I'd totally believe it, but have you heard that before?

Finally, worst abuse of a creative control clause you can remember? I'd wager that Warrior's WCW run is up there.

Once Mahal loses the title and the mandatory rematch is out the way, do you think he'll go back straight to the midcard?

If he's lucky. He's been death for the ratings so far.

I really can't picture it but it's certainly not impossible.

I'm going to put this as simply as I can:

Jim Herd is the biggest idiot in the history of wrestling, ranking somewhere above Vince Russo. If you've never heard of it, look up his idea for the Hunchbacks and Ole Anderson's reaction to the idea. The fact that he lasted as long as he did is a testament to how horrible WCW really was and a testament to how impressive their survival was.

In this case though, Herd thought Flair cost too much money (arguable) and that people like Sting and Lex Luger were the future. Flair was indeed getting older (mid 40s) but he was a link to the NWA era and that was very valuable to the traditional southern wrestling fans. Herd didn't get that and saw him as a older guy with an average physique and a huge contract.

I haven't but it makes sense.

Starrcade 1997 and it's really not even close for me. Hogan spent months and months being terrified of Sting and then they have him strut to the ring and punch Sting in the face over and over before doing the horrible ending, all to reference Montreal/protect Hogan. He should have been dragged to the ring kicking and screaming like he was being led to the gallows for a five minute (at most) squash.

But no, let's do EVERY POSSIBLE WRONG THING and see what happens.
