KB Answers Wrestling Questions

One last question of the day. Maybe

What do you think of a online Indy Network between $2.95 and 3.95 without live streaming of a PPV. I think it would be a big success even if TNA didn't sign onboard

No way they would ever be able to get the whole thing together.

No one really springs to mind. Maybe Ambrose?

A random button.

I'm sure we will.

I can't imagine it.

Some college stadiums instead of an NFL place.

No.

Nah.

Speaking of Ambrose, considering the number of goofball finishes he's been on the ass end of the past few months, I'm starting to wonder if he did something to piss off Vince.

Haven't done this for awhile so let's hit you up KB:

1: I've watched bits and pieces of NXT - most of the special shows and big title matches etc... - but I'd like to watch it a bit more consistently. Is there anything in particular you recommend outside of the obvious I.E. Cesaro vs. Zayn, Bo being a killer douche etc..?

2: Favourite WWE them at the moment?

3: Finn Balor - most bankable guy in NXT right now and most likely to succeed on the main roster: agree, disagree, and why?

Hope you're well man and cheers.

The women. They're consistently well booked, the stories make sense, and the blowoff title matches are regularly the second best thing on the show.

Probably Wyatt but he's not head and shoulders above everyone.

Agree but not by much. Zayn is up there too.

Has anyone ever won a cage match by going under the ring?

Who do you think should've won the Superstar of the Year Slammy? From an accomplishment standpoint, Lesnar has the best case, but I just don't think he needed it.

Why do they not lock the cage during cage matches? It is pretty to hard to watch guys having to slow down just so the other guy could stop them walking out. Too much suspension of disbelief in such situations,lMO.

Rollins and Heyman just shaked hands...think a Rollins cash-in could happen and then he aligns with Heyman post-Mania, or is that wishful thinking at this point?

They used to. Now it's too much to ask them to come up with another ending.

It's not out of the question but I don't see it happening.

Cena already got pinned at Survivor Series, and now he lost today to Seth Rollins. We all knw Vince has a fetish with making Cena look unstoppable.. so do you think Cena will beat Lesnar at the RR? Because if he loses again, that would be 2 losses to Lesnar and 3 losses in a 2 month time period. Vicne would probably panic after so many Cena losses.

Yeah I thnk so actually. If nothing else, Reigns vs. Cena sounds FAR better than Lesnar vs. Reigns.

Only problem with that is it wastes Lesnar's monster push. They've been building him up since Mania just to give the rub to.....Cena? Shouldn't that rub go to a young guy who actually needs the boost? Because that young guy (Reigns or whoever) isn't going to get that rub vicariously through Cena.

No but I would warn you of what happened at Lesnar's last going away match at Wrestlemania. Imagine that as Roman's ascension to the top. He would be destroyed.

Oh, that's easily solved: Book it as a squash match with Lesnar on the receiving end :D That way the 265 pound infant won't stink the joint out with his temper tantrum and the young guy still gets the rub :)

In all seriousness though, if a young guy doesn't get a rub out of this then they've pretty much wasted an entire year and should be shot for incompetence for putting him over 'Taker and Cena in the first place.

Would it be better if Raw/Smackdown used one of the NXT commentators on the booth and just move Michael Cole to interviewer/something else.

I mean jeez Raw commentary is terrible. I'm currently watching NXT and it's so much better. I mean heck if I'd rather listen to Tazz mess up you know there's problems

I would be down for John Cena vs Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and Brock Lesnar vs Randy Orton at Wrestlemania. What do you think?

Do you think they're wasting Ryback's return push by going against Rusev so early? I am going off the assumption that Ryback loses. Even protecting his losses won't do much, as evidenced by his losses to Punk when he had the championship.

This.

It is actually something I fear, given it makes the ending too predictable for what is supposed to be a Huge Main Event.
I understand the rub and all, but beating Cena I feel, could possibly even do more for Reigns in the long-term.

The problem is there won't be any rub from Cena to Reigns (or whoever). At this point Cena is too polarizing a figure: Obviously the IWC marks despise him, but a good chunk of the casuals are tired of him too. When Cena wins it's "Oh, we're getting SuperCena again" and if Reigns (or whoever) beats him it will be "Creative is finally seeing the light".

Last night, I didn't get the idea that the crowd hated Brock at all, which I think is key for Reigns/whoever defeats to get the max rub.

However, Cena is polarizing and stale, thus Reigns beating the Cena who beat Lesnar in a Triple Showdown, would be a great rub and almost definitely will see Reigns cheered big time come the end of Mania.
With Lesnar, I am as yet unsure given the way he has been booked. He is Heel, but he is also a rare spectacle and Star unlike John Cena.

Rubs aren't tied to the heel/face dynamic other than coincidentally (given that face/face heel/heel matchups are relatively rare). The rub is tied to the perception of how good the wrestler giving the rub is. Any rub Lesnar gives is tied into the perception of him as a "monster" rather than how much he's hated (or not hated). No matter how hated a wrestler is, if the perception of him is that he's not particularly anything special in the ring there won't be much of a rub. On the other hand, if a "cool" heel is seen as a killer in the ring the rub is enormous despite the fact he isn't particularly hated. Yes it's all a work and nobody is really a killer in the ring but perception is based off the suspension of disbelief. The problem with Cena is that suspension of disbelief goes out the window with him: When he wins he isn't seen as a killer he's seen as Vince's darling who's being booked as "SuperCena". A product of his booking. Manufactured. When he goes down he'll be seen as the same. Because of that he's not going to provide much of a rub from himself to whoever he puts over nor is he going to transmit Lesnar's rub vicariously. Cena is where Lesnar's rub will go to die.

Bear in mind I'm not one of those moronic Cena haters you see spamming the forum: I just understand that at this point Cena is "damaged goods" from a fan perception standpoint and that needs to be repaired before he can give a rub to anyone.
