I've always heard it was two years.
Randy Savage purchased the Gorgeous George character and though Lanny would be perfect for the role. He pitched the idea to his brother and Lanny and WCW both thought it was great. Lanny started getting in shape, dyed his hair blonde, and signed (what I've heard to be) a 2 year, $75,000/year contract. He got in ring shape and was told they could call him with his dates, but his phone never rang. He got a check every week but never heard from WCW again other than that.
That's not even uncommon for WCW. I've heard of them having upwards of two hundred wrestlers signed (for comparison, offhand I'd say WWE plus NXT combines for about 120) but using less than half of them. They were simply signed so WWF wouldn't be able to sign them, even if WWF had never expressed any interest whatsoever in them.

Just for a second lets assume Punk's walkout is a work is that the best work that nobody saw coming and if not whats the best work in wrestling history
If Punk is truly gone the next three dates are crucial being WM,night after WM, and Summerslam If he doesn't show up to any of these is it fair to assume he would most likely be done with wrestling

Would I be correct in saying that the reason Sammartino lost the title to Koloff in his first run was to get the title on Pedro Morales without garnering the heel heat that one would get by defeating Bruno?
