Back in 2002 Edge had what I would call his first main event singles feud with Angle. This was a pretty good story that saw Edge ultimately go over on Angle. Now this was back in 2002 and it took about 3.5 years for Edge to get his first world title. Can this be attributed solely to his injury history or is there another reason?

It wasn't a main event feud.

Yeah it was the neck. There was talk of throwing him in the first Elimination Chamber the night of the show and giving him the title but they didn't pull the trigger.

Maybe main event feud was strong wording, but there is no denying that Angle was a entrenched main eventer by the time there feud began and Edge was able to go over on him.

I had no idea about the Elimination Chamber thing. Kinda crazy that he went from being talked about as a potential winner to not even in the match.

It was a solid midcard/upper midcard feud.

Well he would have been a last minute switch and would have had to jump from Smackdown to Raw. It also would have been a BIG upset.

Most people see the breakup of Shield being Ambrose and or Rollins turning on Reigns and making Reigns a true face in the process. But what if it were to go the other way? Have Reigns turn on the others. In this scenario I could see a rehashing of the Brock story from 02 where Ambrose and Rollins play the roles of the Hardy's and after Reigns finishes them off he can transition to the main event on his way toward the title (possibly at SummerSlam like Brock).

Who were The Flame and King Parsons? I know they aren't related but I was watching some old NWA videos.

You don't want to do Brock vs. Hardys as the Hardys looked worthless by comparison.

I'd have Reigns as the face since he's easy to cheer. I wouldn't turn Rollins though as he's awesome with the high flying stuff at the moment.

King Parsons was a big star down in Texas but more famous as Iceman Parsons.
