It was mostly serious but there were some gimmicky guys. As the 80s went on it got MUCH worse with the gimmicks.

So why am I so bored with TNA? Even if I fast-forward through Hogan and Dixie and the Aces & Eights, I really can't stand any of it right now. Is this a me-thing?

Not really. They're definitely bad about tying an invisible anchor to whatever they put on. The problem for me is they all sound like good matches, but the build to them is so lame that by the time you get there they have no staying power.

Back in '97 or so, WCW ran a promo for the dark character we came to find out was Seven, Dustin Runnels's "Takeresque" gimmick.

If Dustin had not ran on about "The Powers That Be" and how awful his Goldust gimmick was, do you think Seven would have gotten over?

It had potential, which means it was dead on arrival in WCW.

Cornette. Hart was a bit too comedy focused.

Corny could really get down to business when he had to, but Hart was pretty serious in Memphis. The WWE? Hart was very comedic in nature.

I was reading the WWE encyclopaedia, and under Eric Bischoff's section, the writers wrote that he innovated the way WCW was presented. What were these innovations exactly?

Primarily he was responsible for getting them out of the old smoky arenas and into well lit places that made the shows look much more modern.

What exactly is the point of having Battleground and Hell In A Cell so close together. Wouldn't it make more sense to have a strong build for one PPV instead of two mediocre builds for two PPVs??

Speaking of tag teams, Shield and PTP had a decent match at NoC, at least in my eyes. Why do you think they didn't give PTP another shot after a strong showing, yet the Usos have been given numerous shots it seems?

Also, Battleground. You think anything special is gonna happen (minus the WWE Championship being won).

I wouldn't hate it if the Players got another match, but there's almost no spark to them. The Usos are long overdue for a run with the belts, get better reactions and have better matches. I'd put them in over the Players any day.

Not really, no. It feels like a very lame PPV o paper.

Did you hear the reason that WZ are giving for adding the Santino/Khali tag match to Battleground? Too much time left apparently. I have no words. They seem to be pretty clueless right now. I literally have no idea what is going through their minds at the moment.
