Nah. Basically what you're describing is TNA, as they got big names like Angle and Hardy to jump. Just having the stars out there doesn't matter. You have to have the marketing, the know how and something Vince doesn't have. the problem is there's little he doesn't have and WWE is so big they can crush anyone they want at almost any time.

Ye I feel ya. I was thinking if someone of the likes of Turner came and invested. Maybe a Sheik or someone who could pump a lot, and I mean A LOT of money and turn a promotion into a recognizable name in like 2-3 years. Kinda using the Manchester City (football club) analogy here.

With Hunter saying "He will stop Vince no matter what", do you think he interferes with an Orton cashin at SSlam?

Very little as they knew the change was coming.

Mainly it was Nash as champion and feuding with Savage and then Hogan. They were all placeholder stories and little more.

From what I understand it was Smackdown starting up that made Russo leave. Based on that I'd assume it was July of 1999 when the announcement came.

I would have watched anyway and rolled my eyes, but Bieber wouldn't have been there for a fan like me and I would have accepted that. That's a stupid thing so many fans complain about: stuff clearly there for teenagers not being there for them. It doesn't mean the show sucks. It means that part isn't aimed at you and nothing more.
