Watching some old TNA matches where they had the NWA world and tag titles it made me wonder, did it benefit TNA by starting their own World and Tag titles and did the NWA lose relevance when the change happened.

It was a bit more merky than that. She wasn't under contract anymore so appearing on TV didn't mean anything. It was Vince's fault for letting a champion's contract expire.

It got them away from the nonsense of the NWA. The NWA hadn't been relevant for years at that point.

I still don't buy that story. Basically the story goes that Luger was going to win the title but got hammered and told a New York City bar the night before so Vince changed it to Bret. That doesn't make sense when you think about it for a few seconds.

He probably would have dropped it to Bret in the future. Bret was the next big thing and had been given the McMahon approval months before Mania.

On my first day on set, we were filming a particularly intense scene, and things just weren’t clicking with the cast. It was looking very bleak, so imagine my amazement when COLIN FARRELL came up to ME requesting acting advice! I thought to myself: “You couldn’t make this up!” I gave Colin a few words of wisdom and whaddya know?? The next take, he nailed it! The cast and crew immediately hoisted me onto their shoulders and a rendition of “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow” broke out. I could see the sheer admiration in the eyes of everyone in the room. As I climbed down, the Director had two glasses of champagne waiting for us. After we had clinked glasses, he looked me in the eye and said: “Thanks for saving the movie, champ.” I shrugged it off – I wasn’t in this for the ego boost - but that was the moment Hollywood realized that a new megastar had arrived, and his name was Wade Barrett.
