I read somewhere that Batista was supposed to be the bigger deal at first in 2005 when him and Cena first launched off. What happened with that? Was it his injuries, not as appealing to the masses as Cena or...?

Batista was indeed the bigger deal at first and had way more to do with turning around the company than Cena did. Things were in bad shape in 2004 due to Raw absolutely sucking for almost three years. Batista came in and people loved him and it worked (Note to indy fans: again, the big muscular guys draw. Get over it). Cena had the way bigger upside though, due to being more marketable to the mainstream and also being almost eight years younger. They swapped shows and since Raw is the flagship and Cena was on top there, Cena became the megastar. For clarification, that's not the only reason Cena did but it had a ton to do with it.

Why did RAW suck for three years prior to Batista being pushed to the top?

Will we ever see the uprising of two mega stars such as Cena and Batista again? (meaning they both win world titles at mania and go on to hold those belts about eight to nine months like they did)

HHH as champion for way too long.
HHH vs. Scott Steiner
HHH vs. Shawn Michaels (most of it at least)
HHH vs. Kevin Nash
HHH vs. Goldberg
Goldberg being completely botched
Benoit having his legs cut out from under him as champion
Orton having his legs cut out from under him as champion
Booker T getting beaten at WM 19 when it made no sense
RVD not getting the title when he was on fire
Kane not getting the title when he was on fire
Evolution dominating for WAY too long

Pick any four or so of those and you'll have a good theory as to why.

And of course. You never know what you'll find in wrestling, especially when Vince is in charge.

Now I pretty much agree with all of the above. You think this was a result of Trips being married to Steph? I've read and heard the same argument for the last 10 years. I was particularly disappointed with Booker losing at WM19.

Have you reviewed the '97 In Your House ppv - Degeneration X? It was the first WWF VHS I ever owned. I always thought it was a gem of a pay per view.

Do you think the Savage/Roberts feud could have lasted until Wrestlemania if Hogan vs. Flair have went through?

Eh maybe but it would have taken some tweaking.

Nah. That had more to do with the Kliq power than anything else.

Yep.

What were your thoughts on the DX and McMahon rivalry?

It was pretty stupid because at the end of the day, there's no way you can buy Vince and Shane as legit threats to two of the best ever who work well together.

It's being said that WWE is currently very high on Diva AJ Lee, and hopes to one day establish her as a modern day Miss Elizabeth. The creative team continues to push her as a centerpiece in WWE's top feud, and has big plans for her in the future

Source: The Wrestling Observer

What are your thoughts on this?

I don't care how hard they push her, she will never be anything close to what Miss Elizabeth was.

As far as looks: Mickie. As far as character.....that's close. AJ is adorable and creepy, but Mickie made out with Trish Stratus. That's hard to top. Mickie but I'm fine with either.

Write myself an overly large check, get rid of the cameras everywhere, send all of the Divas to my office, order a meatball sandwich, and grant myself lifetime access to the video library.
