KB Answers Wrestling Questions

One of my favorite lines ever on here was a thread from a long time ago where we came up with comparisons to what superstars we were. IC said this.

"KB is Goldust - Making posters look twice since 2007."

Lulz. That seems to be quite fitting.

Another random question. If Sid didn't mangle his leg, you think he would have been brought in during the invasion angle? Would that have made it even a little bit better? This is all assuming he would have still been with WCW when it folded.

Should Undertaker's 20-0 match be held off, possibly until WM29 considering that nothing's going to top Cena vs Rock next year as far as build up and hype?

Could Hulk Hogan be a world champion in the todays product?
And also, do you think that Wade Barrett could have been huge in the 70's and 80's?

My first guess would be Sheamus, provided he doesn't get into the title match.

Why Sheamus? It isn't exactly like he needs the win, he could easily win the title at say Summerslam without the briefcase and I doubt anyone would really question it. I mean he is already a two time former champ, he has main evented PPVs, beat Orton, Cena and HHH in singles matches, its not like he really needs the briefcase to be taken seriously as a main eventer.

In my opinion, MITB should be used to create new stars (which WWE desperately need right now with Edge recently leaving, Taker all but retired, HHH gone, Jericho still not back and now Punk going as well) not to get an already established one back into the title scene when he could just as easily win a No 1 contenders match without anyone questioning it. I think it should go to either Rhodes or Barrett who could both use it a lot more than Sheamus career wise.

You don't want to use MITB to make new champions. Look at Miz last year. He was built up for months before he won MITB so it wasn't a huge jump. By comparison look at Swagger who went from nothing to world champion. His reign was a total flop.

Thats true but with Swagger it he was almost just a random jobber at that point and to make matters worse instead of taking a few months to build him up they had him cash in straight away. No one took him seriously as champ because just months before he was losing to Santino.

With Rhodes or Barrett it would be totally different, Barrett has already main evented PPVS and beaten the likes of Edge, Jericho, Cena and Orton, Rhodes has been pushed very well lately and he owns victories over Rey and the current IC Champ. Both men also have history with current champ Orton which would help as well.

Even if neither guy are ready to win immediately the WWE has a whole year to build them up like they did Miz. It just seems like this would be a good opportunity for the WWE to make a new star when they are desperately in need main eventers instead of giving an established Main Eventer a title he could just as easily win without the breifcase.

Barrett main eventing PPVs months ago means very little now. You can build someone up quickly, but in wrestling your past can be forgotten almost instantaneously.

WWE have only once used the tactic of giving the briefcase to a young (relatively unestablished) face and using the briefcase to build them up to a main event level. The closest (and only) example was Punk and it's safe to say that his first run with the case was a damp squib.

Do you think that it's possible to successfully run with this kind of angle? Should/Will they do it this year?

Also Kennedy said he was going to cash in the briefcase the following Wrestlemania. Is that a tactic WWE should ever use? For the right talent of course

How so? If a clearly talented midcard guy wins the briefcase and holds onto it for as long as possible, doesn't it show the briefcase as valuable and also build the world title as the ultimate goal? I would argue that Edge's first reign with the case was quite good because it was there and he was slowly being built up as this threat. When he cashed in he was ready to make the jump to the ME.

Are you saying that the build would work for a more established guy, but not a newer guy?

Swagger was a midcard guy that was talented. If he had held it for awhile he would have been a bit better but it still wouldn't have worked that well. MITB is a bit of a problem, at least until someone loses.
