Probably due to the lack of a Hogan/Warrior/Savage rub when he got the title.

Coincidentally, I just got passed his match with Savage that is on the Best Of SNME DVD.

Kind of sad that he never got that little bit extra, to get over the top...

Also on the SNME DVD, there's a segment highlighting Hacksaw Jim Duggan. In this segment, they show a piece of an interview where he says "I like to keep it simple"...

Did you also double over laughing, the first time you heard that?

This is true. He was a bit out there. After he got caught with the Sheik doing cocaine though his career fell faster than Owen Hart.

If HHH never had the MSG incident and that meant Austin never recieved his push what would've happened to Austin and subsequently the WWF?

What is the MSG incident?

Also, you've mentioned in your reviews the "traditional In Your House format" what does that mean and what is the difference between In Your House: ___________ and ___________: In Your House?

MSG Incident: on their last night in the company, Razor and Diesel (Hall and Nash) broke kayfabe and had a big goodbye thing wtih Shawn and HHH. Shawn and Diesel were feuding at the time so they totally broke kayfabe in the middle of the ring at MSG. Razor and Diesel were leaving and Shawn was untouchable because he was keeping the company afloat at the time, so the blame went to HHH. They canceled him winning the KOTR and gave it to Austin who gave the speech where he debuted Austin 3:16. That tournament was supposed to go to HHH so Austin lucked into it.

Back in the day there was a series of shows called In Your House. They ran for two hours and were $10 cheaper than the regular PPV cost of $30. The matches were typically a bit weaker (British Bulldog vs. Diesel was a main event of one) and you would at times have like 4 or 5 matches on a card, a lot of which would be really weak. But you were paying 1/3 less of the price and it was the length of a Raw so it was harder to get mad about than say Summerslam sucking.

The name change means nothing other than they were phasing the IYH tag out and going with all three hour PPVs beginning with IYH: Bad Blood.

Flair gets dominated early on, probably running scared. He bumps all over the place as the other guy is "too much for him to handle". This could go on for up to fifteen minutes at times. Flair gets in one shot to the knee and the momentum completely shifts. Flair works on the knee for a very long time with all of his offense until he finally hits the Figure Four. That gets broken and then we get to the ending of the match.

Think about it: how many times have you seen Flair have that exact match?

Your thoughts on Flair as a heel (not the current obviously, but in NWA, WCW...)

Do you agree with Punk that "in this mic, that ring and even on commentary" no one can't touch him. I'm strating to seriously consider him the best the WWE has to offer.

Awesome in general. Great mic work and the matches worked well also.

Other than in being a draw, as in the most important thing, maybe true other than Cena.

Would you say that the "Flair Formula" actually made the matches worse over time?

I could argue for both sides, but I personally didn't mind the basic outline most of the time, although I feel his best matches are where he deviated from the norm.

It can, but at the same time the formula worked for the most part. Flair lost some of his skills over time and had to go to a much shorter version of the match.

True, but I'm pretty sure it just couldn't work against certain opponents anyway.

Near the end of his career in the WWE, Flair basically just got run over then cheated to win or just "caught" his opponent in a mistake, so I guess it did stick around to a certain extent.

Definitely. I just think that it illustrates the longevity and, in a way, the "evolution" of the "Flair Formula." Even when he couldn't do much in the ring, it still worked.

Do you think TNA could result in a revamped roster, cutting older, dead weight such The Dudleys, Steiner, RVD, and younger but other stars that don't seem to cut it at main event standards such as the Hardys and Anderson? You could replace them with younger TNA stars, current and former, and some indy stars. The main event could still featured established TNA guys there already. I feel that if they do this, but continue to use Hogan and Bischoff in the advertising scheme, they could draw in new viewers and the unique but different content would drawm which is really the first step in the expansion they need. Plus, a re-focus on the X-Division. I have a thread up in the TNA section now about it actually.
