I have an issue with Joey Styles just suddenly deciding on announcing on his Twitter something that would change over 20 years of continuity. And it would be overkill. I've seen battle royals with over 30 people in them and it's way too many.

Yeah, but I have a feeling this is going to be bad. The Rumble has been perfect for a long time now and it's not like people have been left out of it before. This isn't going to add in ten new big names. It's going to add in guys like Harris and McGillicutty and Barreta, as in ten more guys standing around and taking up space in the ring while they wait for a big name to come in and take them out. That's what slows the Rumble down already, not makes it better.

He's a guy that has arrived and has been pushed. He's what everyone has been clamoring for for months: a fresh face in the main event.

Attitude due to Foley and Austin (who I never was a huge fan of) being there, but PG is hardly the hellhole everyone says it is.

I find myself enjoying this year in the PG Era. Ever since the Nexus debut I find Raw to have been very enjoyable most of the time. I think that for much of the Attitude Era the stories were pointless in the lower to mid cards (and a lot of Main Event ones too tbh) and it was way over hyped by fans who enjoyed the blood, women and and gimmick matches like Hell In a Cell. Until Y2J, Angle and Benoit came in the wrestling in the mid card was poor as well IMO.

What was your favourite match from the Attitude Era?

I just watched HBK vs Triple H from Summerslam 2002. Great match. One thing that ticked me off though was that the ref kept telling Triple H not to do use that weapon or something and interrupting the match. It's supposed to be non sanctioned. Why do they do that? and does it annoy you or am I just tired.

who do you think the RAw GM is?
and who do you think will be the main leader of nexus, is it punk or is there someone else pulling the strings?

I'm already written a huge rant about that which I can't do justice in summarizing it here.

The Ref wasn't a sanctioned ref, so he was doing it out of mercy. He wasn't representing the WWE (unsanctioned after all) he was just showing human compassion. Made HBK even more able to sympathize with, and made Triple H into a super heel.

Yet it was on a WWE show in a WWE rented arena and on a WWE show. I've never liked unsanctioned matches because if they weren't sanctioned, why are they on your show?

It is a silly concept. Everyone understands what they are trying to get across, but it just doesn't make any logical sense. "Hmm, well I don't want to get sued if these two kill each other, but I'm going to give you 30 minutes, a venue, and a ref, and make some cash for an unoffical match"

Simple solution, just do No Holds Barred or something.

Precisely. The match is great but the situation around it was stupid. Buildup was great and the match was great but the premise of the match was stupid. Nowhere near as bad as the first Chamber match but still bad.
