That didn't stop Mania 26 from being awesome.

Would WWE survive if Austin had immediately gotten neck surgery in 97?

I can't picture it, no. he was that company for about a year and a half.

That was straight up garbage.

As for a question for KB I'd go with... do you feel (like I do) that Triple H deserves more credit than Austin and The Rock for the Attitude era since he actually amounted to something afterwards?

No. HHH didn't get into the spotlight until about 1999 and even then he needed Rock to pull him up to a higher level. No way and it's not even close on this.

1999? I meant aftewards... Out of all 3 he deserves more credit since he kept the WWE relevant until John Cena showed up. I respect your opinion, though because this thread seems pretty important.

I don't know if I want to ask you a new question... I will though... Do you think MVP if he played his cards right he could have been the next Val Venis? I know he seems more important... but so did Val Venis awhile ago.

No....he didn't. HHH hurt the company as much as any major star by crippling guys like Benoit and Orton so that he could hold onto the title. Having feuds with guys like Nash and HBK and Goldberg and Steiner hurt the show's credibility and ratings all to make HHH have a good time. The guys keeping the company relevant were guys like Brock and Angle. 2003-2004 with HHH running Raw was an awful time period for the company.

And MVP was a bigger deal than Val Venis.

And MVP was a bigger deal than Val Venis.

MVP was about the gimmick (the "sought after free agent") but he at least backed it up with some decent wrestling. Val Venis was 100% gimmick; no one was talking about him going after championships or engaging in tag team matches.

KB, do you know if Sean Morley amounted to anything in the wrestling world before he became Val Venis? Had you ever heard of him?

Not off the top of my head. Always wanted to see what Edge could have done had it not been for his neck injury completely changing his career and style afterwards.

I've seen a total of four ROH shows and a few random matches. Not my best area. The Punk vs. Joe stuff I've seen is good but have a remote for it as they have some boring parts.

Don't really know much from Aries.

If it's found out that Jeff Hardy came to Final Resolution in less than performing capability, who do you hold in higher contempt? Hardy, for actually doing this shit, or TNA, for knowing what they're getting, and still signing the pathetic fuck?

Probably TNA more. TNA knows Hardy has a lot of issues and yet they keep giving him a paycheck to go out there on a major show and perform as the representative of the company when it's very possible he could severely injure someone. Jeff isn't innocent in this but when TNA's head is clear and they don't do anything about it, that's on them.

I think they just wanted to get the MITB case used and to give the fans a shock. I never liked the short reign but it worked at the time.
