Your feelings on Foley as an aging performer as a big fan of his?

He seems like the type of guy that will not be able to stay away from the business because he lives for it. He can still entertain but physically it all has clearly taken its toll. Are we doomed to see him follow in Terry Funk's footsteps? I often find myself now torn between enjoying what he does and those images of Terry Funk cotton hill'ing his way down to the ring yet another time to get hit with who knows what yet another time.

I don't really think so. He seems content with just having 3-4 matches a year and considering he's only 45-46 that's not too unreasonable. He's valuable as a talker of course but considering he's had maybe 50 matches in ten years I think he'll be in much better shape than Funk and given his limited in ring schedule he should be much better.

True, the amount of wrestling is surely on his side and it would be unlikely he would have a situation like Funk did putting off surgery at this point. However, he does insist on working "hardcore" and 2-3 big bumps a year could take its toll.

Well yeah but taking long breaks like he does helps a lot too. He had no real matches from Mania 16 - 2003. That's a NICE break for his body to heal up. Other than last year or whatever year he had the Legends Title he hasn't had more than eight matches in a year this millennium. That has to help him a lot. It makes a big difference to have two or three months to rest up. It helps the matches too. That and not being like 55 and looking kind of dead.

I'd assume they wanted a heel champion and Angle was a face. Also Angle wasn't around long so that might have something to do with it.

Rumble: Angle vs. Benoit 2003
Mania: TLC 2 2001 (could be one of about 5 though)
Summerslam: Hogan vs. Earthquake 1990
Survivor Series: Winner Take All 2001

Angle was still employed by wwe when big show got the belt but he had just lost to rvd the week before and the relationship was clearly strained by drugs and injuries at that point. Big show won the belt in early july and kurt didn't wrestle at all that month. Two more throw away matches then off to TNA he went.

Nice. But why Hogan vs Earthquake?

Also, which of the Big Four are consistently the best show? I know Wrestlemania is the biggest, but which of the shows do you think delivers on the most consistent basis?

SS 90 was the first PPV I remember seeing. I broke three copies of that tape and was raised a Hulkamaniac.

Not really fair to count the Rumble with over an hour going towards one match more often than not. I'll go with Mania but not by much. Summerslam perhaps but it's had some hiccups over the years.

Difficult to say I think. I think some of it will go away and we'll get things a bit more hardcore but not by much. Maybe a bit of blood here and there but at the same time a lot of the things they've done are basic safety issues and there is zero reason to drop those.

See I really don't give two shits about blood, sure it adds minorly to the story of a fight but I don't see why people get hard for it so much

Would you rather see Del Rio or Kofi get a world title match first?
