Hennig and Hall were later. They also had Okerlund and Ventura. Andre was there for a few appearances but was never a regular.

I was listening to Stone Cold's podcast with Regal and Regal said that he loved the Steamboat/Savage match at WM3 until he talked to Steamboat about it. Is there some backstage story there? Only thing I could find is Steamboat believed he was punished for one-upping Hogan/Andre but I don't see how that would change his view.

This is one of those things that fans are probably never going to fully grasp.

Savage vs. Steamboat was mapped out move by move and spot by spot at Savage's insistence, which he did with the majority of his matches. That's very uncommon and only a handful of guys work that way. Basically the match was a glorified ballet recital and while it was flawless, it takes away from the match in a lot of wrestlers' eyes. A wrestler takes pride in being able to call a match in the ring and let it grow on its own. If you practice and practice, regular people could do what Savage and Steamboat did (a stretch but work with me here). That takes away from it in wrestlers' eyes.

Am I going a little mad or does Orton/Batista/HHH/Bryan make sense in the scheme of things to solve the main event issue (Hogan puts Bryan in the ME, HHH inserts himself as he can't trust Orton or Batista to win the match given their dislike of one another)?

Could 3MB straddle the line of serious contender tag team/faction like Bad Influence/ BroMans do??

Should Undertaker still be defending his streak against established main-eventers and part-timers like Lesnar, or should they be using him to help get younger guys over like he did for Orton and Batista?

I mean, 'Taker facing already established guys means easy buyrates for Wrestlemania, but clearly WWE is getting ready to transition to a new generation of main eventers over the next year or two. Shouldn't they be thinking more long-term than Taker vs. Lesnar? Or is it a matter of using the talent you have while you can?

Use what you have while you have it.

Wrestlemania is a show that is going to bring in money hand over fist so bring it in as fast as you can to balance out the rest of the year.

Any theories on why Randy Savage was so obsessed with pre-planning. I have tried to find some information, but they only discuss his paranoia with Miss Elizabeth.

Do you believe Punk is really done with WWE

Which triple threat match would he be better suited for Taker/Lesnar or the Championship match

I think they should keep him off tv until WM as some sort of power struggle between HHH/Vince and the surprise entrant in the Championship match would be Punk and the Superdome would go nuts IMO

I am sorry about the triple threat idea What I meant was which triple threat match would fit Punk better the Championship match or the Streak

Do you see Punk going to Impact or ROH

Is the Willow character in TNA a alternative personality from the Jeff Hardy Character

Following up on the retrospective threads going on about Mania in the old school forum and it currently being up to the attitude era it got me thinking about those Mania's and then I realized Rock lost back to back to back main events at 15,16 and 17. To me this seems fitting as I have never known a clear main eventer lose more big matches throughout their career than Rock.

Are there any other instances of clear main eventers losing so many big matches as Rock has or is this a trait that only belongs to The Rock?

Also, it seemed as though all those losses never hurt The Rock. Is that a testimate to just how over he was? Or do you attribute it to something else?

Shawn lost a lot, though not at Wrestlemania.

There's a common misconception that a loss means a downgrade. Rock was given a rub in two of those matches and got the title in a much better match a month after Wrestlemania 2000. There comes a point when a match is good enough that neither guy looks bad which explains 2001. 99 was different as Rock was nowhere near ready for that match and was much more like Miz (albeit a much more talented version) at Wrestlemania 27. No one expected him to leave with the title so it wasn't a disappointment.

Outside of the popular choices (17, 19, 24 etc...) what is your favourite Mania?

Do you like the current formula for WrestleMania (8 matches, three getting 20+ minutes, the rest going around/under 10 minutes)?

What do you want to close out Mania this year?

4. I watched the heck out of that as a kid.

Yeah I can live with that.

Bryan holding up the title.

Top 3 wrestlers that show the most intensity in the ring at the moment?

Bryan
Lesnar
Reigns

I watched WM 17 yesterday. I've seen most of it, but I don't think I'd ever watched all the way through. Anyway, a couple things came to my mind:

1. Rhyno looked like a monster in TLC, did he get any sort of push out of it? You'd think he was going to skyrocket up the card based on how strong he looked in that match that he wasn't even in.

2. I'm assuming it was Vince, but was it ever revealed where the No DQ stipulation in the main event came from and was it a major plot point going forward?

3. This one isn't a question as much as an observation, but I thought the main event was horribly overbooked. I'm not an Attitude Era person, so that might be why, but I was rolling my eyes by the end of the match at how ridiculous the kick outs were getting.

1. InVasion. It screwed up EVERYTHING.

2. It never was revealed but yeah you would assume Vince.

3. That's a problem of modern booking. That kind of stuff was nowhere near as common back then and the match was insane at the time. You also have to keep in mind how big Austin and ROck were. There has never been a time in wrestling wtih two stars that big at the same time. It was the biggest match in years on that big of a stage. The kickouts helped it but yeah, seeing people kicking out of five finishers a match now has ruined the idea.
