He would have definitely gotten over and probably won a world title, but not as soon as he did.
They're really hard to compare because of how limited access was. There were a bunch of draws, but you can't put them on that level due to their limited area.

Also, do you buy into the theory that WWE will have to 'sacrifice' a Mania to build new top level guys? Say Mania 31 they have a mega heel hold the belt for 6 months and then Big E or someone wins it from them and becomes a permanent main eventer. They could still have Cena vs Taker or chuck a ton of money at Austin to show up if they're worried about the buy rate but I definitely think this needs to happen in the near future because using the part time stars every year isn't sustainable.

Assuming her no compete clause is over, it's possible.
Nah they'll be fine without it. Building top level guys isn't nearly as complicated as people make it out to be.

...As said by Sly. While this is true, I don't understand why ratings are in the decline. In 2011, they were about 3.8. They are now around 2.8. If they are breaking records and gaining large attendances; why are ratings getting lower and lower?

More options for TV, Hulu Plus, DVR, the way ratings are calculated being changed a few months ago.
The other thing to remember is sponsorship money. WWE is making I believe four times what they were making five years ago from sponsors. Yeah TV ratings are down but everything else is booming.

Since that was the case, why didn't they just do it at WrestleMania X8? Seems like it would have been a much better use of Austin rather than having him fight Hall. Seems It also would have benefited Triple H more than beating Jericho too.
