We did wild card entrants, as in two people randomly paired together. By about the third round it became obvious that no one cared.

This is what one of my friends had to say about Chris Jericho's return.

And I quote lol.

"Hi, my name is Brandon. But you already knew that. Anyway, I normally never come in here to rant about anything, but today I am. So get ready for it. As some of you might know Chris Jericho is my favorite pro-wrestler of all time and I am extremely displeased with how Vince and management have handled his return. Yes, he had a great feud and two great matches with CM Punk, but what else has he done? This will be remembered as one of Jericho's worst returns ever and his worst year to date. He's been completely buried and his return has been ruined. He's lost all of his ppv matches this year; Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, WrestleMania, Extreme Rules, and Over the Limit will be next on the list. It's ridiculous I tell you.

Does anyone in here feel the same way?"

If you don't mind, let me know what you think of this.

As for that response, Jericho is at the point where losses don't hurt him. He's 41 years old, he's not going to be here long term, and yet he's still getting one of the top spots in the company. How many other people are going to get something like that?

Let me know what you think of my thoughts regarding Chris Jericho and his return.

Here it goes.

I honestly don't know where some people derive comments such as, "Age seems to be catching up with him." It seems like one of those cliches people rely on when they can't properly assess the facts. The fact is, if you watch Chris Jericho now he has the same sloppy step-up enziguri, the same Lionsault he rarely hits, the same rest holds, the same cool set-ups for the Walls of Jericho -- his ring-work is the same. There's been nothing at all to prove his ring finesse has degraded. Hell, he actually seems to bump better since trimming down. I remember a few embarrassingly bad bumps on his part during his last run, such as out of a Dragonscrew Legwhip and every other time someone countered the Walls by making him flip bump.

Since returning, Chris Jericho had the best final-two performance in the Royal Rumble since Undertaker-HBK; he put on a solid showing in the Elimination Chamber; and he had an excellent match at WrestleMania and an even better rematch at Extreme Rules. That's not even mentioning all the fantastic promos he's had. The first month after his return had all of the Internet in a rage at his cryptic appearances.

Jericho doesn't need to win matches. He's Chris fucking Jericho. He jobs on television to guys like JTG without a hitch in his push. Hell, even though he hasn't had such television losses to mid-carders lately, we've still had a few matches with the classic Jericho finish where the face hits his finisher, but the heel manages to get the rope or fall out of the ring and then uses a dirty tactic to set up his own finisher. He did that once with Kingston recently. It's a great way to have Jericho win a match without Kingston looking weak. If anything it has the potential to give a face sympathy heat.

Overall, I'd say this has been a very good return to WWE. I'd give it a B+. Like I said, he's had great matches and terrific promos. What more do you want? For him to win something? I doubt Jericho even gives a shit.

You're probably too sane to give those "Cena having poor performances" reports a lot of credence, right? The odds that it's internet BS is pretty high, right?

Looking back to Unforgiven 2006, why did Cena look so disappointed at the end of the TLC match?

He had just defeated Edge, won back the WWE title, in Edge's hometown, in a match Edge was supposedly the master of, and still got a good face reaction.

I honestly can't recall if there was a kayfabe or legit reason for this.

Triple H taking the reigns of NXT. Good thing or bad thing?

Sounds fine to me.

It's possible he's a bit off his game, but Cena off his game is still better than almost anyone else in the world. The internet probably would overblow it though, yes.

Not that I can think of. Could have been exhaustion. It also could have been a Magnum TA from Starrcade 85 thing where he didn't like the point he had to go to in order to win and he hated himself for it.

KB in the begining of RAW, there was a guy with a sign that read "Wrestling is Fake". Do you think he was just trying to be funny or being a smark/idiot?

Do you wish that Ahmed Johnson was able to stay healthy?

What matches of the Road Warriors would you recommend? I just watched the WM 13 match with Ahmed vs. The Nation, so I want to see more.

Yes. I was a huge fan of his back in the 90s.

The problem with them is that most of their matches were squashes. A great match that they're in and were a big part of would be the first WarGames, which is July 4 of 1987. It's easily found on YouTube. They have a match at Starrcade I want to say 1987 with the Horsemen (Anderson/Blanchard) which is good too. Summerslam 92 vs. Money Inc. isn't bad and there's a very rare LOD vs. Harts match from a house show in 91. The final two are both on the LOD DVD.

Yikes.

How cool/fun is the concept of WarGames? Watching the one you recommended right now, I wish there could be one now. Not really sure how you could make it work at the present time, but seeing one in the future would be sweet. If done properly of course.

It's the undisputed king of the gimmick matches. Nothing has ever come close for me. 1992's version might be the best WCW match ever. It's a total blood bath and the blowoff to the excellent Dangerous Alliance story.
