Probably. his 2002 stuff was weak, mainly due to us having seen his act so many times.

It's probably due to nerves a lot of the time. Mania has been made up to be this huge and epic thing (which it is) and it's probably a lot easier to have a match on Raw which you do 50 times a year than Mania which is billed as once in a lifetime.

Flair's retirement. That legitimately brought tears to my eyes. I got a text from a buddy of mine that got me onto WZ (and it happens to be his birthday today) who hadn't seen it yet. I said it had me crying and he basically laughed at me. Two days later: "I just saw Raw man. You were right. I was bawling like a baby." I don't watch that anymore.

Because at the end of the day he was just a monster heel, and there are almost always a half dozen of them and rarely do they ever last long term. Guys like that exist to be slain, not to be on top.
