Thoughts on Bully Ray, Christian's heel promo on the last SD?

Do you agree with me that the Orton/Sheamus matches have been much better that when they were part of the RAW roster?

Until the moment, just for WWE, your candidates for match of the year and most improved?

At the end of the day, it's Bully Ray getting a big push. Loved the promo.

Yeah by far.

Match of the year is hard to say. Nothing really stands out. Same with improved.

I always wanted it to be Benoit. When, I'm not sure.
I agree, Benoit would've been a great choice. Would've been a chance to consolidate the midcard and main event (big guys and middleweights / old guys and young guys, you get it) a bit and create new opportunities for fueds and matches. WCW could've been much, much better and fresh if they just abandonned that strict card structure / dichotomy around 1998 where there still was a huge chance to compete. But I guess it was better to let Nash end the streak with trainwreck-Hall-tazer-bullshit and maintain the same circle of single digit number guys who always have the same main event matches while the rest drowns in the midcard with no direction at all.
Okay, "when" - would you say before or after it happened in reality? And in a big showdown fashion or huge shocker way?

And I would totally mark out if either of the challengers wins on Sunday. But I expect Cena to carry the title into Mania to the satisfaction of no one, and Christian is not Orton, so has no real chance.

Big showdown. Have Benoit be made to look like he can make anyone tap and then have him counter either the spear of Jackhammer into the Crossface.

Who should've broken Goldberg's streak and when?

I still like the idea of a rejuvenated Red and Yellow Hulk Hogan taking a heel Goldberg's streak but that would have needed a lot of things to go right in the long term, not least selling the Goldberg turn.

As for my question, do you think The Rock vs Cena at WMXXVIII really needs to have the WWE Title on the line? Surely it is a big enough confrontation to sell itself and allow other talent the spotlight of a championship match? Or, despite it being done in the past, does the title need to be defended in the biggest match on the card?

Nah, needed to be a new guy, not Hogan again.

Yeah I think it does. You make that the total center of the show. i've rarely been a fan of the main event not being for the title. Also, it's a bit different to imagine Rock winning the title again than it would be when Hogan won it in 02. It's plausible, which is the key thing to it.

Well, it's only plausible if Rock stays long term, which doesn't seem likely.

Which brings me to my next point: Should wrestling federations nowadays use the internet (or subtle commentary) to make certain outcomes more likely and enhance fueds? Like intentionally spreading rumors of Rock staying for the above example, about one guy having backstage heat or nagging injuries so it's more likely for the assumed winner to lose a fued or match or "spill" false "plans" for storylines to counter real rumors and create unpredictability?
Or are spoiled outcomes and surprises not a serious problem for the feds?

I would agree with that.

I hope that they decide not to go to Savage/Warrior levels with Cena kicking out of 8 Rock Bottoms and Rocky succumbing to the 9th Attitude Adjustment. I could see Rocky tapping out though in a similar way that HHH and HBK did at Mania

I definitely wouldn't. Wrestling fans for the most part don't want to go online to get news. You shouldn't have to watch a video or read a blog to get all aspects of a story. TNA has done this a few times and it's really annoying because it seems like you have to do all this work to just know what's going on. With six hours of programming a week, that simply shouldn't be needed.

KB does affect in someway when a wrestler complains about certainsituation? For example when SCSA said that the E wasn't properly using Punk, or now Jericho saying the same thing about Zakc Ryder. I mean, when someone as big as SCSA starts complaining, the E starts giving attention to the "problem" and hot to solve it?

Or they don't care at all?

Eh it's probably a small factor but it doesn't mean they have to change everything all at once. If the fans are seeming to demand it universally and they think it's a good move then maybe, but it's certainly not the biggest factor in the world.

More Absurd Thing About Professional Wrestling: Bob Holly's pushes to the semi main event every two to three years, or people believing Zack Ryder should be used on Raw?

Holly. Not even close. Ryder is at least funny at times and there's a point for jobbers. Holly was just annoying.

Your thoughts on the Capitol Punishment card?

Not bad for a B show.

Well one is a guy who's taking initiative and getting himself noticed through hardwork while getting fucked over by his employers every step over the way, which sends the wrong message to the boys. The other is part of the old boys club being rewarded for being a locker room enforcer, which also sends the wrong message to the boys. Should be pretty clear. And I don't even really like Ryder.

Was it wrong of the WWE not to use Ryder on raw last night?
At least in a segment back stage. It was three hours long, had to have been able to put him in right?

I think at the end of the day, he's a fad that'll go nowhere. Ryder, at least in this form, has been a jobber and that's it. It's really not that big of a deal. People are going to watch the show no matter what, so it's reall not that big of a deal.
