I remember debating this with Jake once.

I think he could have, namely around 1991/92 or maybe in 1996. However, I'm not sure if they could have validated taking it off someone else and putting it on him as the times where he was best suited for it was when the company was in trouble.

I'm not entirely sure. Cole should be shut up soon enough. I think the tag feud is over though.

There's a place for it. They can be great opening matches. Using them as they have though, to try to force one to be Shawn and one to be Jannetty, is a bad idea though because that formula has been done time and time over again.
