Occasional Pre-Show
So, a while back rumors were doing the rounds that Kaval/ Low-Ki was going to be brought up to the SmackDown roster under a mask to feud with Rey Mysterio. However, the plans were seemingly nixed when he received a leg injury and spent most of 2009 sidelined.

Towards the end of last year, reports indicated that we was wrestling and winning dark matches. So it would seem he is close to a main roster call up again.

What are your opinions of Low-Ki so far in the WWE and how do you think he will be brought up to the main roster? Now that fellow indie favorite Bryan Danielson is due to report to FCW it makes it a bit more interesting; will they duke it out together in FCW, who will be brought in first, will they be brought up together?

Personally, I love Low-Ki's work, what I've seen of it and have enjoyed what I've seen of his FCW work (there is a great little match on YouTube against Tyson Kid). The WWE haven't watered him down too much, he's still using the Ghetto Stomp and the strikes (albeit not as stiff) and is still using his Warriors Way type gimmick.

I think a lot would agree that either SmackDown or ECW would be a good fit for Kaval and I'd like to see him on ECW. More specifically, I'd like to see him brought in via the New Talent Initiative for 2010 alongside a bunch of local jobbers and then proceed to annihilate them all and declare himself the only one worthy and that he IS the New Talent Initiative.

I also think he would be a good fit for Punk's Straight Edge Society, as a vice free, completely focused warrior, who's body is a machine!

Thoughts? Ideas? Opinions?

not sure how Kaval will be used, he was one of my TNA favourites from the early days when the x-division raigned supreme. he was brilliant against Sabin, Joe, Shelley, Petey Williams, the Fallen angel etc, no idea why he went to the E! havnt seem him against much bigger opposition in TNA so im not sure how he would fare against the meatheads of the WWE locker room, against Mysterio and other smaller cruiserweight type guys he would be awesome and now with Danielson on the rosta aswell he could be put in with him... only worry is that he will be lost in the shuffle which would be a m,assive shame 'cos Low-Ki/Kaval is one hell of a talented wrestler, you actually thought his moves hurt and he wos just a really good solid performer... hope the E know what they have and dont just wank away his talent like they have with so many others... my 2 cents... hell job to meatheads like Batista and wont be able to shine nearly as well as he would back in RoH or TNA... unless the E bring back some sort of cruiserweight division ;)

I had a similar view when it was first announced that he had signed with WWE, however I'm fairly optimistic now.

I think there enough smaller stars, considered main-eventers, like Mysterio, Punk or even Jericho, to put him up against to begin with. He (hopefully) can achieve some kind of credibility, then once he moves towards opponents that are bigger, it won't seem as outlandish, when he scores a victory.

The martial arts strikers, like Yoshi, Tajiri and Punk seem to get over well with these moves. The questions is, if he can preform those strikes without stiffing like a 30-day old corpse.

Alright, fair play he has got the talent to fight against on the SD roster. There is Y2J and Punk etc... just hope he doesnt get an initial push and then get lost in the shuffle as it were. i would think ECW would have been perfect a couple of years ago before it became a bit shit...

As a matter of fact, he and Danielson have already wrestled in FCW and from what I've heard, they had an excellent match. Now as for when he should come up. I don't know about some of you, but I feel that Smackdown needs a faction. Something along the lines of Evolution or The Horseman, something fresh. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't both Kaval and Danielson perform in Ring of Honor? I know Danielson did, but I'm not sure about Kaval. But, anyways, who better to put together into a group than the two of them with, who I think is the best heel along side Jericho on Smackdown in one CM Punk. Punk, Danielson, Kaval, Gallows. "The Honor Society." I don't know. And Punk can do what HHH did with Evolution. Where as HHH helped boost the careers of Orton and Batista, Punk can do the same with Kaval and Danielson. Because let's face it, these two, if given the proper chance, could be the future of the WWE along with Punk, who is by far and away one of the best things going right now. Now I'm not a booker. Don't claim to be creative. But it just seems that right now there needs to be another faction in the WWE besides the "PG" DX. I just thought it'd be a fun idea.

I really like the two initial ideas, namely having him slaughter jobbers for a few weeks and claim he IS the initiative, and then one of the other stars who came up from it *cough* Danielson *cough* takes exception and they battle it out. He would also fit well with Punk as his personality suits the straight-edge nation thing and they're both striking submission artists.

I think the safe bet is he turns up on ECW, perhaps in time to challenge Christian before he gets moved. Hell, imagine what a debut it would be to dethrone the longest champion in ECW (the brand, not the company)'s history. Don't have him squash him obviously because it would make it appear that Christian lost to someone on a lesser roster so doesn't belong on the A or B show, have them go like fifteen minutes and Kaval come out narrowly on top then have Christian shake his hand and put the belt on him and raise his arm. I think this could work because during his short run as Low Ki in the WWF he feuded with Christian so they know each other's styles albeit having not wrestled for the best part of a decade.

When I heard the idea of him coming in under a mask and working with Rey I thought that was pretty kick ass. I still think that would be a unique and different way to bring him up. He could be someone from Mysterio's pass who has a vengeance against Rey. Maybe even have him join CM Punk as well. If they do go through with the rumored Punk/Mysterio match, then it would be perfect for Kaval to debut under CM Punk and work with Mysterio.

He was injured for almost a year in FCW and signed in late 2008, so he's only spent about a year as an active wrestler in development.

The idea of him debuted with Punk and against Rey had never occurred to me, it's a great idea. I wouldn't be opposed to him in a mask either. Especially with the high number of repackages wrestlers go through as of recent times. Plus it's more merch for the WWE to flog.

It seems like he's been in Dev forever at this point. Hopefully he gets called up soon for the Rey angle since he'll be getting knee surgery after WM26. Plus if Low Ki wears a mask, it will be the first time in a long time WWE has had a masked heel...which is something new. Plus smackdown could use another mid-card heel with some credibility (sorry mike knox).

I'd like to see a bit of an old school debut for him, because he's quite a modern style wrestler, and it'd be a bit of a nice contrast. What I'd do is put vignettes about him debuting on whatever brand he's going to, like they used to, and then when he finally debuts, have him attack someone and enter into a feud with them. It could be Mysterio, I think that would be entertaining, but he could equally save the day and be a face. I don't know, but I think there is potential for him to be a bit of an enigma and be therefore able to enter the card quite high for a feud.
