Kane's mask and Wrestlemania

There have been rumours floating around for a while that WWE want to break the record for the most people wearing masks at the same event or some such thing, and that that could be a reason as to why Kane returned with a mask.

However, upon returning he has been targeting Cena, Ryder and Eve. While this could be the start of the fabled heel turn for Cena, the way the storyline is going I just don't see what the WWE can do to boost the sales of Kane's mask leading up to Wrestlemania 28.

When the Sting masks were all the rage, it was down to him randomly appearing from the crowd and played a part in his story with the NWO. Kane has come up from the ring, appeared in reflections of mirrors, been in the background and appeared as if from nowhere. The point being, he doesn't require fans to wear his mask at the moment to keep Cena, Ryder and Eve on edge, whereas Sting would appear sporadically and the fans wearing his mask was a sign that he was in their thoughts and a reminder to the NWO of the popularity he still had.

What I'm wondering about is:
-Are WWE still going ahead with this idea at WM?
-What are/could WWE do in the run up to increase the chances of the record being overtaken?
-Is this record attempt better suited for a Mysterio or a Cara rather than a Kane due to the Hispanic population of Miami?

That is a pretty interesting idea. I recall reading about WWE wanting to break the record for mask sales at Wrestlemania, and the thought of a Rey VS Sin Cara encounter came to mind quickly. I hadn't thought of Kane, even after he returned newly remasked. I'm pretty sure that he will add some mask sales to the event if they offer the opportunity to buy Kane masks there, but I still think it will heavily depend on Rey and Sin Cara's masks to break the record.

If the Kane masks are not already available, they need to be made available and advertised extensively. The Rey masks and Sin Cara masks should be pushed rather hard as well. If Rey and Sin Cara have a match together then that would be the perfect opportunity in my opinion for WWE to break the mask selling record. I don't see Kane doing as much for it, but his mask will help boost numbers. It isn't as much about heritage of the local fans, but more because of how guys like Rey being associated for so much longer with their masks whereas Kane was unmasked for YEARS and only just recently got his back. A classic luchador match in Rey VS Sin Cara is the way to go, with heavy promotion toward the fans to buy masks of all three wrestlers. That will lead to the record being broken at Wrestlemania this year.

its unlikely since both sin cara and rey mysterio wont be at WM 28, kane will be the only one, and i dont see people wearing kanes mask. actually im wrong, rey plans on being at wm 28, but i doubt him alone can break the record, the wwe may have to scrap their plans for this year. maybe hunico should mask up again and play the sin cara role.

Kane will be in a filler match at Mania 28. Ryder will not wrestle on the card, its 9 weeks away and storyline he has a broken back. Unless it is a put on and he is gonig to turn heel and say it was made up and he himself embraces the hate and joins Kane, then I dont see Ryder being involved inring at Wrestlemania.

Kane, they will have masks to give away to fans to wear to get the mask record. Mysterio will be lucky to return in time, and if he does, Id expect him to be MITB sop he can share the workload with 7 other guys. Not enough time for him to get a fued up and running that would be big enough for a Mania match. Sin Cara, is he still around??? Cant remember the last time he was spotted.

At best I see Kane in a match with either Mark Henry or Mason Ryan or himself being in MITB with Mysterio, thus they can have their mask record at the star of the show.
