Really? This cycle has been going on for years and now you're confused?
Okay, here is the Kane cycle:

o look a girl/friend/girlfriend that brings out my human side in an attempt to get the fans to relate to me
GRRR I R ANGRY BUT NOW I ONLY BEAT UP BAD GUYS
WTF dude? Why did you do that? That really pisses me off

It's that simple. Doesn't matter if it's X-Pac, RVD, or AJ bringing out his more human side, or whether it's Orton, demasking, or Undertaker driving his heel turn. It's the same shit. It's a shallow character that worked a lot better when making sense didn't matter at all and you just had to bleed, cuss, show your boobs, or be overly clude/violent in some other way to get over.
