Kane in the Hall of Fame

Will Kane be in the Hall of Fame?

I would say that Kane will definitely be in the HOF. Over the years, Kane has evolved into one of the most successful and durable characters of the WWE. While it is true that he isn't always main eventing or holding a major championship, Kane nonethelss maintains a presence and has for almost 13 years. Kane has been part of some memorable matches, angles and moments which makes it only inevitable imo that he will grace the HOF one day. It is deserved imo.

Thoughts??

The thought of this happening made me laugh. What has Kane done to even warrant being in any kind of hall of fame? Being world champion for one day? For being the brother of the Undertaker? Or perhaps the raping of a dead corpse?

He isn't good in the ring and his character has gotten worse over the years. I couldn't even count the great matches he's had on one hand. He belongs nowhere near the Hall of Fame.

Kane was involved in a good rivalry with the Undertaker which imo produced a good match at 'Mania 14, the feud then saw the introduction of the inferno match which by WWF standards at the time was revolutionary. Not to mention Kane had a good scrap with Stone Cold for the Title which he won (ok it was a day but title reigns aren't the only thing taken into account for the HOF).

Furthermore, Kane has had multiple tag title reigns, including the WCW tag titles- yet another part of history. He has formed exciting teams with x pac, rvd, mankind even the 'taker.

The sight of Kane flying of the top of a steel kane onto xpac is another great moment and an extraordinary feat for a man of his size. Kane has also had 2 intercontinental title reigns which spawned good matches with hhh e.g. Judgment Day for the title in a chain match. Also had a good match with Jericho on Raw for the title.

Also, although the World Title/IC title unification match centred around the Katie Vick storyline, the match was good imo and again the unification meant Kane was part of history..again. Plus it was HHH who came off worse from that storyline imo as he is the one who made the claims and embarrassed himself with the dummy...not kane. Also the TLC match from Raw where Kane singlehandly won the tag titles was immense..yet another accomplishment.

Furthermore, Kane's unmasking opened new doors for the character, he became arguably the best monster heel in the company and produced good brawls with Shane McMahon. From a storyline perspective, his matches with Matt Hardy over Lita were good and his match with HBK at Unforgiven was great. Not to mention his impressive Royal Rumble performances (one of which is a record btw) and the amount of people he has helped over the years and put over. There are so many reasons I can think of that warrant Kane a deserved place in the HOF and I could go on. Anyhow, we are all entitled to our opinion and that is just mine.

all you gotta do is watch the dvd "the twisted disturbed life of kane." horrible title and horrible commentary, but you want 5 good matches? every one of the are exciting and it truly reminds you how awesome his career has been. one of the most memorable debuts in history if i might add.

I recently rewatched this match, and I was bored shitless throughout most of it. It had a few nice spots, but ultimately I wouldn't call it a good match.

This isn't impressive. I'd seen matches with fire plenty of times before Kane had even debuted. Not to mention all four inferno matches have been nothing short of boring.

Everybody was having good scraps with Steve Austin back in 1999. Kane was no exception.

So has Monty Sopp. Perhaps he should be inducted as well.

Men like Vader and Bam Bam had been performing high-risk aerial moves well before Kane had. Why would someone use the criteria of jumping off a cage when considering induction?

Kane has also had 2 intercontinental title reigns which spawned good matches with hhh e.g. Judgment Day for the title in a chain match. Also had a good match with Jericho on Raw for the title.
And the match with Triple H is the only memorable thing to come from either of his reings. Not so impressive.

Also the TLC match from Raw where Kane singlehandly won the tag titles was immense..yet another accomplishment.
This was Kane's best match, yet I was more impressed with the other workers in it.

Not to mention his impressive Royal Rumble performances (one of which is a record btw) and the amount of people he has helped over the years and put over.
Why should anyone care about how many people he can eliminate if he can't win the damn thing?

I respect your opinion MattMoses and you have given your reasons for it and dissected mine. We will just agree to disagree.

While Kane will never get into my personal Hall of Fame, he will someday get into the WWE HOF because of his long term stature with the company. Remember, to get into the WWE HOF you don't have to be a champion, a talented wrestler or even a wrestler at all, so Kane is a lock to get in someday.

I think like WH (^) said, Kane will get inducted as Glen Jacobs rather than as Kane the character. Where Undertaker will be inducted in character, Kane will be for loyalty and being a long server, much like JR and King. Also, given he's still a household name, he will get his recognition some day.

Kane used to be very entertaining once upon a time, and his character was very popular. Its not entirely his fault the direction his character went. The mask should've never come off and he mightve still been very big today.

Either way Kane has been very loyal to the company and I'm sure he'll get in the Hall of Fame just for that one day. He could just get in even for his run with the mask as he was one of the best monsters in WWE history back then.

Kane is a decent wrestler, and he can't be blamed for the storylines, he can however be blamed for his wrestling skills which are fine imo. So yes into the HOF he goes I mean come on many people are in the HOF that were never world Champions. Kane has atleast had a one day reign he can put over like no one's buisness I mean would HHH lose to Mark Henry.

Yes, Kane deserves it 100%. He had an, albeit brief, World Title Run, he is Undertakers brother, which must mean something and he has had some great matches in the past. He will always be remembered as the masked Kane and that alone was good enough to get him in. So yes, Kane will be in the HoF, class of... '16.

With the induction of Koko B Ware, I'm nearly positive that Kane will get in. One of the main reasons Koko got in is because of his loyalty and no one has been more loyal then Kane.

Is he worthy? Who knows, some say he is some argue his is not. But will he be in the HOF, without a doubt. If somebody like Koko B Ware can make it, anybody can.

Kane came into the WWE as a big thing. He had a good long feud with Undertaker and was in the mainevent for a while. His title run help him, or hurt him. Many people get into the fame without carrying the title so his one day reign won't effect it.

He had some success as a tag team with Taker, and his feud with HHH/RVD when he got unmasked was alright(minus Katie Vick). When it comes down to it, Kane wasn't a maineventer. Yes he was in it once in a while, but he was more used as a random tag holder, a scary monster, or a mainevent jobber. Did he help the WWE or do anything over extrodinary, probably not. But as long as he keeps his nose clean, does what vince wants, and doesn't bash the company after he leaves, there is no doubt in my mind Kane will eventually get in(when? who knows).

Kane will get in he deserves it. hes worked hard for the WWE and hes had some good moments. he is two time ic champ twice the tag titles ten times he held the wwe title, plus hes held the ECW title that's more than enough to get in especially with people like Koko B ware in there

Yep.

Quite simple. He's one of the only wrestlers to stick around with an interesting gimmick. When I watched the WWF around 98ish, he was an interesting character to say the least whenever I saw him. Him along with Paul Bearer ensured great storylines with The Undertaker & others. It's a huge shame that he only got a 24 hour title run, because he deserves a much, much longer one. If they used his character right he could still be a big time superstar now, but I feel he's destined for mid-card matches until he retires; which is a shame. All in all, yeah he deserves to be in there.

Too bad his gimmicks been completely dull, and dead since the mask came off.

Could have been played 15x better by someone else. Just think if Vader got the kane gimmick. Would be prosu.

Correction, Paul Bearer ensured great storylines with The Undertaker & others. Kane was just kinda there, and is rather large. I've yet to see a good Kane match personally.

Why??????? Kanes only thing hes got going is hes The Undertaker's fake brother.

And thats a shame why? Kane is loyal and a company man, thats about it. Him just being large and freaky looking is enough to put people over. Hes never put on a good match to my knowledge. 3 1/2 stars is the best hes gotten, honestly. Kane deserves to be a main eventer right now, and in the past about as much as Rey Mystero does. Show me 1 good Kane match, and maybe I'll change my opinion. Hes been stiff, and botchy since the day he came in.

When the mask came off Kane was awesome and a dominant monster heel. When this happened he featured more prominantly on WWE TV. Plus, without the mask Kane was able to use his facial expressions much more which added another element to the character. Yes the mask was cool but he is just as good without it in my opinion. Today, it's not that the gimmick is dull, it's just the WWE don't do anything with it. Used properly, it is a great gimmick. At least Kane has a personality which is more than can be said for some.

Vader would have looked so wrong in the Kane costume and mask in my opinion. Glen Jacobs was perfect in terms of size and shape. IMO he was a great choice for the gimmick.

In the late 90s and very early 2000s, I really enjoyed Kane. It's true, however, that he's going to be tied to the Undertaker forever and, personally, I sort of think of him as Undertaker-Light.

I think he deserves to be put into the HOF, for nothing else, than having the sheer professionalism not to tell Vince and creative to go fuck themselves. They've really put him into some god awful angles and storylines and ruined one of the best big, powerhouse guys they've had in a long time. The truth of it is, Kane sucks now but most of the blame lies with the writers and Vince himself. I think it's a safe bet that Jacobs rolled his eyes with disgust at the idea of Katie Vick. He probably wasn't too thrilled with the whole feud that he had with X-Pac and that bimbo they were fighting over, whatever her name was. His feud with Big Daddy V was just plain awful, but he had the professionalism to do his best with what he was given. After all, working with a guy that weigns 500 pounds is really going to limit what you can do with him. Kane couldn't sidewalk slam him or tombstone him because he simply couldn't wrap his arms around the guy to do it and V couldn't help with the chokeslam so any attempt at it was just pityful.

But, as I mentioned earlier, professionalism goes a long way. Kane's been loyal to the WWE and has been involved in some high profile feuds and matches. That alone, I'd say, will gain him entrance into the HOF. It's gonna be hard for me to think of Kane as "legendary" because creative has done such a shitty job with him. At the same time, it's nice to see someone that's worked hard and honestly tried to get recognition.
