Just received a phone call from a very angry black man.

Apparently my roommate used my phone while I was asleep to call said man's girlfriend in the middle of the night. Three in the morning, to be exact. It looks like they were disconnected halfway through or maybe the call just didn't connect, though.

I explained, when he asked quite rudely, who I was (Matthew, college student, etc.) and he told me to stop lying and then hung up. He also mentioned that he was "so angry right now, mmmmph".

I hope I don't get shot.

If you get shot it's a good thing your a doctor.

I have just received a text from a good friend regarding this situation.

Why do you have to mention his race at all? Why can't it just be "a very man"?

You, sir, are a racist.

Because...

*ahem*

Certain phrases are associated with certain images. By mentioning that the angry black man who called me was indeed angry, black [or had adopted the cadence and speech style of a stereotypical man from the hood], and an adult man, I adequately describe the situation using a phrase featuring three descriptive adjectives. Whatever connotations the adjectives hold is up to your worldview.

Because nothing supports your theory of being shot better than an angry black man, right? As we all know, only black men commit violent crimes.

Racist.

Racist.
I can't claim to be without bias, but I really did just think "I hope I don't get shot" just sounded funny, considering I highly doubt this dude's going to track me down and murder me in the middle of a college campus in Beavercreek of all places.

Unless he's on this forum, somehow, some way. In which case, you good sir, are fucked.

OK, am I the only one who finds it odd that the roommate uses the phone, and nobody has a problem with it?

Doc, this calls for you calling out your roommate, because using your phone for seemingly uncivil deeds is rather dickish.
