JR Fired Again; It Doesn't Make Any Sense

Pre-Show Stalwart
On Monday Night Raw Supershow, J.L. fired good ole' J.R.. Did I miss something? Because all I heard was "you walked away from the wwe, blah blah..you're fired". If this is the case, and J.R. got fired because he walked out, then should Cole be fired? Shouldn't everyone else who walked out on the wwe be "fired"? Why just fire J.R. when 50 something all walked out also?

John Laurinitis, is just undoing everything Triple H. did. Fired J.R., and rehired Miz and Truth, ect... Just his character trying to create some major heat and it seems to be working.

It shows Laurinitis is being subjective and unfair, he's not making decisions for the benefit of the business, he's doing it for personal reasons.

I'm sure in the coming weeks he'll admit that he hates JR and thats why he fired him. JR will come back and either have a bigger role or return to the announce table with more heat. This was made obvious to me because he left without a last word or without being humiliated (shows that a bigger pay-off is down the line). Either way, JR wont lose in this scenario.

perhaps the wwe shouldve placed more emphasis on the business relationship between laurinatis and jr so the wwe universe wouldve understand why the firing took place. They should have booked those two in a segment etc.

Or how about, he was fired because he is taking time off or leaving for good? Its possible WWE may not want him because they always seem to have Cole take shots at him on commentary and he never really says much.

John Laurinaitis himself gave a mighty fine reason as to why he fired JR. He felt he betrayed the WWE. Triple H went out of his way to hire JR a couple months back only to have JR turn around and walk out on the very man who helped him out the most. According to Laurinaitis, JR is a hypocrite and a phony. For the fans who didn't or don't know the history between JR and Laurinaitis, this was a fine way to explain why he terminated Jim Ross.

Besides, Johnny Ace needed some good cheap heat which is just fine. It more than likely plays into the storyline.

You thought WWE could do a RAW in Oklahoma without firing, or humiliating JR in some way or another? have you been watching the show AT ALL over the last 12 years or so?

Besides he did give a reason, JR was the only guy that Triple H had gone out of his way to "rehire", and then he walked out last week. If ANYONE should have shown a little more Loyalty to Triple H, and thus to WWE as the company that Triple H represented, it should have been JR.

I dont think it was a heel move i mean it didnt make sense.. even with the henry attack why would ross still walk out after Trips went under Vince and rehired him..?!

And to the op did u miss the speech laurinitus gave before the firing explaining it or did u just not think it made sense?

And what is this Ace-J.R. rivalry you guys are referencing? Is it legit?

I'm assuming that the heat stems from the fact that JR was once the executive vice president of talent relations and did a damn fine job without kissing Vince's ass. JL then took over when JR stepped down and has been a "yes man". Other than that I have no idea. On a side note, I honest to God have no clue why Cole is so loved by WWE. I legitimately hate that piece of crap. Not because he's a heel, but because he's an untalented piece of crap who can't commentate for shit and who's only purpose is being a parrot for Vince McMahon.

This may be far-fetched, but the wwe may use this to bring back scsa. If the rumors are true, they are trying to get austin to join hhh's team at survivor series. It could seem like all hope is lost for jr, then austin returns to take out jl and whoever his goons are.

But most likely, its just a way to get heat on jl as it shows his alliance to vince and not hhh.

It was a dick move for sure. An assload of guys walked out but Lauranitis fired the guy who stayed almost till the end of the show and is liked by the crowd. It was meant to get heel heat, nothing more and nothing less.

Bringing JR back was just another way of getting Triple H more over. Thats the only reason he was brought back. Firing JR was just a way to get some extra cheap heat on John Laurinitis.

Its not really a big loss. The Raw commentary booth has been horrible. They have zero chemistry together. JR isn't what he once was. They need to fire King too, and find a better replacement.

My issue is...the firing of JR has been done way too many times. It lost all its shock value. I wish they would of came up with a more creative way to humiliate him and get rid of him in his hometown.

How many times has Jim Ross been fired now? 10? it seems every GM ever has fired Jim Ross or made an ass of him on Raw in his hometown. I know it's a good way to get some heat on the new GM, but at this point it isn't even amusing anymore. Why did Johnny Ace fire Jim Ross and not Jerry Lawler or Cole? It would have probably been nice for them to at least tell JR before hand. We may see JR come back with a new GM, but at this point why even bring him back? He gets humiliated every week it seems. The fans don't even care at this point because it's so repetitive.

John Laurinaitis himself gave a mighty fine reason as to why he fired JR. He felt he betrayed the WWE. Triple H went out of his way to hire JR a couple months back only to have JR turn around and walk out on the very man who helped him out the most.

That's exactly it, but even this reasoning creates a contradiction in Laurinaitis' logic that should be interesting to follow as it plays out. After all, Laurinaitis seemed offended by J.R.'s breach in loyalty to Triple H; yet, why would John care whether someone is disloyal to the man he's been working against behind the scenes?

We've been reading that J.R. was unaware this was going to take place. It seems possible, because he didn't have a thing to say, did he? Instead, he just tipped his cap, as if saying: "Yes, sir. I bit the hand that fed me and I deserve to be canned. What a slobberknocker."

Is the "firing" permanent? It just may be; J.R. was no longer working the announcer's job for WWE before Triple H came back. Perhaps his tenure at the table was designed to last only as long as Triple H functioned as COO......in other words, J.R. knew when he came back that his program would be brief in duration.

Personally, I hope he comes back.

Laurinaitis is a heel! I don't think he would really need a reason to do anything like that as long as it makes us mad.

Pretty much this.

It makes sense. From simply the perspective of someone who's watched the show only a few months, it's clear that Ace is just kicking off someone brought in during HHH's big changes. It's undoing what HHH did, which was all pretty clearly stuff VKM and Ace didn't like from the get go.

Furthermore, for fans who've been around longer and might follow this stuff online, Jim Ross is a threat to Ace. Ross has been at the top like Ace before, and is someone who could've done some damage to him and whoever he's working for.

It makes sense. I get why some are mad, but like someone above me said this is like the 5th or whatever time he's been "fired" on screen. He'll be back. This isn't done yet.

JR being fired was one of the best parts of this weeks RAW, I really wish King would have gotten fired with him. I'm sorry I know a lot of people say Jim Ross is the voice of the WWE or Monday Night Raw but his time has come and gone. I'd rather here Cole and Booker T any day of the week than Lawler and JR. Hell put Mathews on Raw. Its called Succession Planning.

Well, it does make sense. Imagine Triple H bringing you back on commentary, then you walk out of him? That's too immoral and JR is an ingrate for doing that. What doesn't make sense is John Morrison not being fired. He is also reinstated by Triple H, the same case as JR - he also walked out. If you fire JR you should as well fire him.
