I don't see why any punishment should be so rigid to be honest. For serious crime, they should keep you in until you are rehabilitated. It shouldn't be beyond our justice system to be aware of what the psyche of the criminals it holds are. If someone rapes someone, regardless of the sentence given, you shouldn't be letting them out until you are satisfied they won't do it again. Locking people up for arbitary amounts of time will never acheive anything, because in 99% of cases that'll either be for too long in crimes of passion and too short in premeditation etc.

But a lot of criminals are master manipulators. I think that that a more rigid standard than that is necessary.

We're not in ancient Babylonia so an eye for an eye is pretty much a useless terminology now. Wanting to kill somebody just because they killed somebody makes you no better than them.

What if that someone was a two year old child who had no idea what was happening to them, the poor kid was being tortured and had rockets stuck up his arse, they slowly tortured him and left him dying on train tracks so a train could run over him, if that doesnt deserve indefinet term inside i dont know what does.

There is no justification why either of those losers should have been let out, I also agree with becker, why should they have been given new lives, why shouldnt they have been given the death sentence, they stopped a life from begining agonised a small child and tortoured the poor thing till it died, and you believe that the piece of crap deserves amnesty?

There is no excuse for murdering a defensless child no damn excuse IMO
