Jon Moxley signs with WWE

Former Dragon Gate and Evolve Wrestling talent Jon Moxley signed his WWE developmental deal this week and is expected to start in Florida Championship Wrestling next week.

As noted on the front page, Jon Moxley has signed a developmental deal with WWE. I'm not too knowledgeable on indy talent, so I have no idea if this is a good acquisition or not

Anyway, do you think this a good signing on WWE's part?

Jon was the guy that Austin Aries had a match with and cut that promo that WZ claimed he bashed WWE just because he was refering to the "wrestling" being taking out and the whole soap opera mess. In that Promo, Austin noted him being signed so its not really that new or atleast shouldnt be.

If I am not mistaken Jon Moxley was in Dragon Gate and help put Kendrick over as this bad ass loner. Never really a fan of Moxley but Ive seen enough of his look that I have no clue how he would fit into the current WWE Standards.

But when he was in Heartland Wrestling, he use to show up on WWE a few times. He wrestled against MNM on Velocity, Big Show on Heat, and probably others not noted by his wrestling profile. He is another one of those CZW guys I feel. A hardcore attitude that has a gimimick that should be badass but in the WWE its jobber status all the way.

He had some run ins with Bryan Danielson back in Sept during Evolve events...so it will be interesting if they dosomething with that.

I think it's great. I watched him in HWA a lot because we got it on tv here and I've always been a fan of his. I hope everything works out for him.

This was reported weeks ago, not sure what took WZ so long to pick up on this story. Seriously, I think we had a thread on this in the spam zone about a month ago.

Anyways, it's a great signing for the WWE. Moxley was one of the most in-demand indy talents of the last few years and built a nice following for himself by dominating in companies like CZW, Dragon Gate USA, EVOLVE, and various others. He's a fairly good worker but his real upside is his mic-work, which is flat out phenomenal. He's got this crazy passion on the mic to play the batshit crazy heel in a way that I haven't seen since the days of Mick Foley's Cactus Jack promos in the early to mid 90s in ECW. He cut some of the best promos in any wrestling company over the last year, especially his work against Homicide. I dread the cheesy as fuck name you know he'll get from WWE developmental, but he has a ton of potential to be a fairly big deal in the WWE's future if he's booked correctly and they choose to utilize his talents.

Very exciting signing for the WWE's future.

I like Moxley a lot but just don't see him fitting in to current WWE. The promo I've seen he's drinking, smoking and uses language he couldn't use in wwe. His look reminds me of Dick Slater.. I guess Punk didn't have a clean look and look where he is so lets sit back and see.
