Joe's Contract Expires; Expected to Re-Negotiate a New Contract with TNA

It's Damn Real!

The undisputed, undefeated TNA &
But should he?

According to various reports, Samoa Joe's contract in TNA expired last night, and it's expected that he and the company will be negotiating a new deal (though it's unknown just how long he'll be out), which might explain the injury angle they ran at Final Resolution last night, but the question is whether Joe has run his course at TNA, and whether he's actually worth returning?

Joe has done it all at TNA, quite literally, and he's been one of their biggest stars since he joined the company back in 2005, but recent years have dwindled his success and really marginalized his value (in the eyes of some).

Thoughts on this? Should TNA bring him back? Why or why not?

Yeah I think TNA should resign Joe, I don't see any reason not to. He is a vluable member of the roster, seriously over with the fans and is one of the bigger names in the company.

I dont think WWE will be showing much interest in Joe. His wrestling style, lack of promo skills and physique will stop any interest from Vince, so TNA is Joe's best option.

I think he is always entertaining in the ring, and with a decent mouthpiece to cover up his lack on mic skills, could be useful again towards the top of the card.

Joe still has much to offer TNA I think. His feud with Jarrett in my opinion has been one of the most watchable feuds in the past few weeks. He can still be a soldier in what should be culminating into an "anti-Immortal" group with the likes of Pope, Angle, etc. He is still a major draw and can still wrestle. I see no reason to let him go just yet.

And besides, he is a major face in the company. You need your good guys balanced with the bad.

I think the main reason that samoa joe staying is good for TNA is that he has been round a while, hes been a TNA world heavyweight champ but he's still a pretty young 29 years of age, he's coming into his primje so getting rid of him now would be a huge mistake in my eyes. He has got something of a kindof tweener, stone cold, I don't work for anybody style attitude and thats good as well.

TNA should resign Joe at the moment. At the moment there aren't enough babyfaces in their ranks to counter the large nmber of heels that the "Immortals" have. It would be best for both Joe as well as TNA if he resigns because I do not think WWE is greatly interested in Joe and I do not Joe wants to go to ROH where he would be paid less.

Also Joe is still very over with the fans. But I can see a time nearing when a few people who are currently in Immortal have turned face like AJ Styles. How useful Samoa Joe will be to TNA at that point remains to be seen.

TNA should definitely want Joe to resign. And Joe probably will.

I can't say if the WWE would want Joe. His appearance and mic skills have already been brought up. But who knows...maybe Vince has something in mind for Joe. Perhaps Vince sees a way to make money from Joe. Maybe WWE has a plan set for Joe that is intriguing to him. I think if Joe got the offer from WWE with a good game plan, then he should take it.

With that said, I think Joe wants to stay in TNA. He has a good history and a loyal following. Plus, I doubt he wants to be known as the next Monty Brown.

I think they should resign him. I agree with others, that the Jarrett fued has been good. I am not a huge Joe fan, but with his history and potential, he is worth resigning. They need to give him some direction. Feed off the "Joe is going to kill you" chants. The have him as a poor man's TAZ, instead of going all the way with it. What is the point with him yelling at Pope? Say "I hate you, but I hate them more, so tonight we are united, but dont think I would Muscle Buster your ass if needed." He should be used spariningly as a monster face....you hear his music and you know all hell is going to break lose. (ie sting) So if you follow Sting (as far as when and how often you see him) mixed with TAZ (bad ass that hates everyone).

I'm not really sure whether "Should he" would be the right thing to ask.

Joe has hardly been a BIG gigantic asset to TNA in the last couple of months. Hell he has hardly been a big asset ever since Hulk and Eric came in at the beginning of the year. That says a lot that TNA can actually do just fine on their own without Samoa Joe.

Sure Joe is a fine asset, he's good in the ring, and he can be used fairly well if they actually bother. But by the looks of it right now, there's hardly anything for Joe to really do. Or for that sake there's hardly anything that I could see making Joe a guy worthy of paying to stick around. He has his program with Double J right now, but it's hardly something that anybody would even care for, or hope to see continue for that sake either.

And while Joe could earn more than enough from actually sticking around. Because he's getting paid, I'd say sure let him resign. But, primarily I'd say - Don't even offer him a contract.

But should he?
I think Joe should definitely sign back with TNA. From what I've read, he's been getting paid decently and he has a light schedule which are the main reasons as to why he should sign with TNA and not ROH or the WWE.

ROH doesn't pay very well as recent stars like Tyler Black and Nigel McGuinness have left ROH for more money in the WWE and TNA respectively. Yes, I agree that Joe will be put instantly into the main event of ROH if he signs and he probably will hold onto that championship for a long time but I once heard Joe say in an interview that it's all about the money.

If Joe were in fact following the dollar signs, he would wind up in the WWE if Vince were to offer him a contract. But the schedule in the WWE is much heavier than it is in TNA. He has a pretty good thing going in TNA and the traveling in WWE could hinder his desire to jump ship.

but the question is whether Joe has run his course at TNA, and whether he's actually worth returning?

Joe has done it all at TNA, quite literally, and he's been one of their biggest stars since he joined the company back in 2005, but recent years have dwindled his success and really marginalized his value (in the eyes of some).

Joe has done everything in TNA and along with AJ Styles, put that company on the map. His ridiculously long winning streak is actually what convinced me to first watch TNA as I wanted to find out who the wrestler was that could be undefeated for over a year.

Yes, Joe has captured every championship but he's only been Heavyweight Champion once. I'm sure that one of his desires is to win the championship a few more times to cement his legacy in the company. That might be another reason why Joe would want to come back to TNA.

I would definitely agree that Joe's stock over recent years has significantly gone down. The IWC barely talks about him now and I haven't seen Joe in the same light that he was in before. He's not being touted as the best talent that TNA has to offer. He's being pushed to the side in favor of the other guys who I believe don't deserve it. There's one reason why Joe would not want to sign back with TNA as he might feel unappreciated and underutilized (then again if he were sign with the WWE, he would probably feel even more underutilized and unappreciated).

Should TNA bring him back? Why or why not?
Should TNA bring back a guy that's been a fixture in their company since his debut and not have shell out a lot of money for him? The answer is yes in my opinion. If TNA doesn't have to throw the bank at Joe to stay then why not? If he seems content being where he is at, wrestling minor feuds and not being in the championship scene, then it seems to be a no brainer. The guy is still a damn good wrestler and people will still pay money to see him. He's not the same draw as he was before, yes, but he's a high caliber wrestler that no company would want to lose or could afford to lose, not named the WWE.

I Am A HUGE Joe Fan and I really hope they being him and I still think that could be pretty valuable to TNA right now, he's still a really good wrestler and I think that his Mic Skills are underrated by alot of people. I would Love to see Joe get a Main Event push and compete for the TNA World Title but for that happen I think that he does need to get into a little a better shape then he is right now and get back to where he was 1-2 years ago. I want to Joe to resign and I fully expect him to resign also.

I think it's win-win for both TNA & Joe.

Joe wouldn't cut it in WWE, he doesn't have the look or really the microphone skills. I know that will enraged people who love Joe & all that is indy wrestling but it's true.

Hopefully he can use the time to get in better shape.

With how they've treated Joe's character over the past few years, I can't see how signing would help him out aside from a paycheck. His character can't break out with the plans for Morgan, Anderson, et al, he's being fed to JJ....again..., TNA creative has completely forgotten that THEY first kidnapped Joe.

TNA doesn't deserve Joe. But, they got lucky and will continue to ruin this still great prospect.

I am kind of torn on this one. Joe could be a great asset. I loved his character and I still like it for the most part. However, I am having a little trouble seeing the development. Sometimes it is booking creating issues and sometimes it is his attitude but whatever the case it hasn't really panned out. I used to find his appearance intimidating but lets be honest he doesn't appear to be in the shape he was even if he still moves well. His appearance is starting to become an issue and there are elements of his character that are starting to almost grow stale because they are one-dimensional. He has to develop a new twist if he is ever going to make it to the top. I'd still re-sign him because of his potential, and track record within TNA, but if he wants the top spot or bust immediately I'd consider passing so he could be humbled behind the scenes some. From Joe's perspective I'd be shocked if he could get a better deal elsewhere so of course he will want to be back.
