I think Joe should definitely sign back with TNA. From what I've read, he's been getting paid decently and he has a light schedule which are the main reasons as to why he should sign with TNA and not ROH or the WWE.
ROH doesn't pay very well as recent stars like Tyler Black and Nigel McGuinness have left ROH for more money in the WWE and TNA respectively. Yes, I agree that Joe will be put instantly into the main event of ROH if he signs and he probably will hold onto that championship for a long time but I once heard Joe say in an interview that it's all about the money.
If Joe were in fact following the dollar signs, he would wind up in the WWE if Vince were to offer him a contract. But the schedule in the WWE is much heavier than it is in TNA. He has a pretty good thing going in TNA and the traveling in WWE could hinder his desire to jump ship.
but the question is whether Joe has run his course at TNA, and whether he's actually worth returning?
Joe has done it all at TNA, quite literally, and he's been one of their biggest stars since he joined the company back in 2005, but recent years have dwindled his success and really marginalized his value (in the eyes of some).
Joe has done everything in TNA and along with AJ Styles, put that company on the map. His ridiculously long winning streak is actually what convinced me to first watch TNA as I wanted to find out who the wrestler was that could be undefeated for over a year.
Yes, Joe has captured every championship but he's only been Heavyweight Champion once. I'm sure that one of his desires is to win the championship a few more times to cement his legacy in the company. That might be another reason why Joe would want to come back to TNA.
I would definitely agree that Joe's stock over recent years has significantly gone down. The IWC barely talks about him now and I haven't seen Joe in the same light that he was in before. He's not being touted as the best talent that TNA has to offer. He's being pushed to the side in favor of the other guys who I believe don't deserve it. There's one reason why Joe would not want to sign back with TNA as he might feel unappreciated and underutilized (then again if he were sign with the WWE, he would probably feel even more underutilized and unappreciated).
Should TNA bring him back? Why or why not?
Should TNA bring back a guy that's been a fixture in their company since his debut and not have shell out a lot of money for him? The answer is yes in my opinion. If TNA doesn't have to throw the bank at Joe to stay then why not? If he seems content being where he is at, wrestling minor feuds and not being in the championship scene, then it seems to be a no brainer. The guy is still a damn good wrestler and people will still pay money to see him. He's not the same draw as he was before, yes, but he's a high caliber wrestler that no company would want to lose or could afford to lose, not named the WWE.
