Jericho vs. Punk for the WWE Championship - WM28

Yes, I'm doing all of them.

Another match I'm excited for. Unfortunately, I doubt they'll receive a ton of television time to build this really well (think Orton and Punk), but the match could steal the show.

Actually, it can't. This show belongs to Taker and HHH. Might come close, though.

uuuuuuuuuughhhhhhh

Why couldn't Jericho just have won the fucking chamber match last night and that have setup their match at WM. I don't understand why the WWE would have TWO OVER THE TOP BATTLE ROYALS so close after the Royal Rumble PPV. So fucking dumb. I don't care if people love the match, its a lazy fucking way of setting up matches and feuds not to mention it completely cheapens the whole point of the Royal Rumble.

Horrible booking, the Elimination Chamber was shit, Jericho winning would have made the turd a tad bit shinier, but fuck...

The setup has been brutally underwhelming though. Almost like if it was pushed solely for the smarkier crowds.

CM will go over. y2j just isn't champ material. CM is the future of the biz.

CM vs Cena to headline WM29 in NJ. It will slow burn for a year, and be pretty decent. Cena will pass the torch next year.

None of this is correct, at fucking all.

Jericho has been a World Champion, more time than CM Punk has been interesting in is entire WWE career.

Cena is still the main money maker in the WWE, hence why Cena vs Kane was the main event last night, and the WWE Title match was first.

Punk vs Austin is more likely next year at WM29

What torch? Cena's lighting the Olympic torch this year? How come this wasn't reported? Someone call Chris Cash.

It doesn't matter what y2j has done in the past. RIGHT NOW, he isnt champ material. He's more comic relief. CM's going over. Bet me on that.

Cena is main moneymaker NOW. Next year, he will pass the torch. Then the CM era will begin. Bet me on that too.

SCSA is done wrestling. You didn't see what Owen did to him. Serious stuff. He's done. You're deluded if u think SCSA is wrestling CM next year.

Jericho is more champion material than Punk. Santino is comic relief, Hornswoggle is comic relief, farting gimmicks are comic relief. Jericho is one of the best wrestling/entertaining talents of the past 15 years.

Why would Cena pass the torch when there's no wrestler in the WWE that could fill his spot? Cena's name fills seats, not CM Punks. This wont change by next year, sorry kid.

Austin has stated himself he's got one more match in him and wants it to be vs Punk, go read something.

Don't we still have like 5 or 6 weeks till the show? Give it some time. Pretty basic story really. They want to see who the best in the world really is. Doesn't have to get much more in depth than that

Jericho has never been much above filler for the main event. Almost all his title reigns have come by as means of substitution. His Undisputed run came because HHH was injured, his first 2 World title runs were filler for Cena's return and one last chance to milk his feud with Shawn and his 3rd was just setup for the return of Edge.

While Jericho's done a lot, he's certainly far from being "the best". Punk's closer in my opinion having held a much tighter grip to the main event.

Killjoy said it well.

I'm a y2j fan. Ever since his WCW days. But at the current time, he's not more champ material than CM.

And CM will be ready next year. Watch.

SCSA may have said that, but him vs CM still won't happen.

Filler for Edge's return, he beat the Undertaker in the EC match he won the title in, he then beat Edge at WM for said title. I wouldn't so much say he was filler.

Even if Jericho is filler going into his match with Punk at WM28, Jericho should have had the title to make the match more worth a fuck that its current build up.

Well yes. Edge got injured when they were Tag Team Champions and right off the bat, Jericho was talking him down. Edge came back at Rumble time, so he won and Jericho got the belt to setup their match. Had Edge back before or after the 'Mania time period, Jericho would've just likely never have touched the gold. Him winning the title thanks to Shawn to setup his match with Taker doesn't help either.

It would still be underwhelming. Though to be honest, judging from tonight, it would've saved WWE a few injuries.

It might have made the purchase cost of the EC PPV worth it to see something different. Punk wins, Beth wins, Bryan wins, Cena wins.... Santino steals the show

It would have saved us another over the top battle royal so close to the over the top battle royal PPV know as the Royal Rumble.

They will probably build this up better in the coming weeks. Funny thing is, even after becoming champ and all the pipebombs Punk will be at same place on the Mania card as he was last year.

Meh. The Royal Rumble win has meant very little in years. They don't actually headline Wrestlemania anymore and Del Rio OPENED 'Mania last year.

"Oh no, they've barely done anything and I don't care". Does this not sound eerily similar to Taker/HHH from last year, and yet, these two still have five weeks to build the fucking thing.

It's quite possible that it is what they intended, but Jericho got legit knocked out and couldn't go on. However, he understands the importance of his place and couldn't afford to miss any time in this feud. He isn't meriting of getting a 1 on 1 Number one contender's match, hasn't done enough to earn it in kayfabe, so a battle royal was the only way to go.

That's what I'm staking my claim on.

Of course Punk is almost assuredly going over, because, uh, Jericho is going on tour with Fozzy again come summer.

As for Cena "passing the torch" to Punk next year, lets be serious here. CM Punk is only the man to IWC types. Nobody else gives any sort of fuck about him. Will you folks please get that through your heads.

Not to mention, Cena isn't anywhere near retirement yet. He isn't passing the torch any time soon.

Levity, most of ya'll needs it.

This has had three weeks of build. If you're saying that it's been underwhelming, you're a dumbass. There's a long way to go yet.

You're mistaken. Punk was in the fourth or fifth biggest match at last year's Mania, depending on where you rate Rhodes-Mysterio. This year, he's solidly in the third biggest match.

Yeah no shit. He's going in as the WWE Champion, that's significantly better than going in as the guy who is going to lose to Orton.

I thought Orton/Punk was the third biggest match on the card last year after HHH/ Taker and Cena/ Miz. Sure, the World Heavyweight title made the Edge/ Del Rio match seem somewhat important but there was hardly any heat in that feud. Therefore heat wise, I though Orton/ Punk was the third biggest match on the card.

That's true but what I am saying is that the card is so strong that it has made the best superstar of the year being reduced to an afterthought behind HHH/ Taker and Rock/Cena.
