Are you kidding me? Betrayed? Have you ever known a habitual drug user? You act like Jeff is the scum of the earth, when in reality he just has a problem, as Randy Marsh would say "it's a disease.." I mean it really is. It's so hard to kick stuff like that in a normal life. I could see how much harder it would be for a wrestler, especially someone who takes bumps like Jeff has. It's shitty that some of you guys would just shit on Jeff like that. For christ's sake he's probably addicted because we all loved to watch his spots.. The pain he, and all wrestlers for that matter, has to go through everyday. It's amazing to me how much we can "love" a superstar for their actions in the ring, but then when it comes down to what they do outside of it.. Forget it. Jeff put his body on the line night and out.. for us.. As soon as he leaves, he gets busted with drugs.. And what does he get for it? Well, shat on. It's bullshit. Don't get me wrong, I sincerely hope he gets the help he needs. I hope this doesn't turn into a Scott Hall or worse, a Jake Roberts thing.
Oh please. True, Jeff Hardy's pain certainly contributed to his repeated drug use, but if he wasn't disciplined enough to handle the pain without using drugs, he never should have become a wrestler in the first place.
I loved Jeff Hardy's character, and I loved his entrance theme, which fit him perfectly. He, in many respects,
is another Jake Roberts--he had everything going for him, he was a top star that was amazingly over, yet he somehow couldn't use that as motivation, so he snorted some more white powder. If someone gets clean, becomes a star at the level of Cena or Triple H, then turns to drugs for the
third time, either we're misinformed in some regard or there's no hope for the man.
There are three reasons his contract situation could've occurred, I think:
- He secretly wanted time off to get clean from drugs,
- He secretly wanted time off to go back to drugs, or:
- WWE knew he was on drugs all along, and fabricated the whole "burned out" situation to give one of their top stars a finale before sending him off for the final time.
What's even more depressing is that TNA, with their zero standards on hiring drug users just to make a buck, will hire Hardy next in all likelihood.
Why do you think Punk was pushed to the moon? It could be because of his promo/ring skills, it could be because of how he "connects with the crowd," it could be because of his character, but bottom line, I think we all know it's because he's the only guy guaranteed not to discredit the company by being involved with drugs.
