James Storm Suffers Concussion: Out For 6-8 Weeks

This happened at the worst possible time. Storm deserved to have a lengthy reign because that would have been good for adding prestige to the belt as well as a career defining reign for himself. The concussion is likely to cut it short and I hope that TNA don't just solve this the lazy way by putting the belt on Angle, Sting, or even worse.... Hogan. If Storm has to lose the title then they should have a battle royal or something to determine the new champion, and no one but Roode would deserve more to win it. Then they could feud when Storm returns, depending on how long he might actually be gone.

But imagine if Roode or even AJ BEAT Hogan...clean...1-on-1...even though the match itself would likely be lack luster, doesn't that make them look HUGE?

As for Storm, I think it's a work...and I think it will all culminate with a feud with Bobby Roode over the title.

Not really.... I disagree with you there. It takes more than one win over one legend to make someone look HUGE. Hogan can barely move in the ring. A win over Hogan at this point is far different than a win over Hogan would have been 10+ years ago would have been. I can understand if they sneak in a title win for Hogan that lasts a day or two, just to say he held the belt, to add to the prestige. However if he retained even once then I'd be upset. He has no business working matches anymore, especially for the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. It doesn't matter how good it might make the other guy look. They should worry more about building guys like AJ or Roode into permanent stars rather than worrying about which veteran should put them over.

I really hope you are right and that would be the perfect feud for both guys to solidify them as top guys in TNA because they are both ready to step up. It could begin as a "who is the better man?" type of feud, then take a turn into bitter hatred towards each other. By that point they will be stealing the show in 3 Stages Of Hell matches and other great match types.

I agree to an extent...you have to give it to Hogan...every time we think he's done, he surprises us and puts on a decent or good performance. I think he could have one last main event match in him (maybe to put over Roode or Styles to make them look "legit") even if it is a "fight" like it was at BFG. Hogan still has the appeal and him simply challenging for the TNA title would add prestige. He's still an icon and maybe still the biggest name in the industry. I'm just interested in seeing where TNA goes from here.

Not so much anymore. He can barely go anymore in the ring these days. His "match" at Bound For Glory wasn't exactly a show stealer. It was only good in the sense that it got Hogan's name onto the card. If he is going to be working any more "matches" they need to as short as possible with the important stuff happening in segments involving others instead.

Styles already got made to look "legit" though by Sting when he ended his Bound For Glory streak and it resulted in the longest reign so far for the TNA World Championship. AJ does not need a title match against Hogan in order to be a big deal. Roode doesn't either. Angle at Bound For Glory and winning the series already made him look great. For either of them a win against Hogan would not be that impressive considering his current skill level.

Yes it could add prestige but much like with Mick Foley he only needs to challenge for the title once then hold it for maybe a few days, if that. Then they can say he held it but it also gets it off him quickly. If they try to do a long run with him as champion though I will riot and so would most other fans because that would be extremely stupid.

Who does Hogan have an appeal to? Seriously? TNA's numbers have... not gone higher in any noticable way since he went there. I genuinely cannot think of the last time I have heard or read someone saying 'oh yay a hogan match'. I guess Rock v. Hogan - and I don't see TNA booking something as big as that some how.

I gotta disagree with you on Roode. They made Roode look strong UP UNTIL Bound for Glory, but his match with Angle (maybe due to injury?) was lackluster, plus he lost, so it basically said, "Yeah you're good, just not good enough." I think Roode needs something else before he's ready to be more than just an internet darling.

As far as AJ, I still don't see him as legit. He's been fading in the midcard now for so long I almost think he's lost relevance. I hope to see he and Roode in the title picture, but AJ's window is fading as far as being "the guy." He's still the best wrestler in the business today, but they need to push him slightly more to make him "the guy."

for what it's worth, the Impact after the most recent BFG had the most viewers in TNA history. I would think a large part of that was due to the Hogan/Sting fight at BFG.
Hogan/Sting was not a wrestling match, but it was right there with Hogan/Rock. more people might know Rock because of WWE.

I was hoping Storm would turn heel. Roode had all the videos with his family leading up to BFG, I was figuring Storm would become jealous.

He is the TNA World Champion now. We'll see where things go. All he needs now is some good feuds and to be booked strongly. Oh wait, this is TNA. Yeah, he may be in trouble. Seriously though I want Roode to do well and he deserves this shot more than anyone on their roster. They put the belt on him like they should have in the first place and now it is up to him to prove himself. If they let him show off what he can do then he will be more than the "internet darling" you called him.

AJ was legit a while back. He had the potential to become TNA's answer to John Cena if they had kept him in the #1 spot despite Hogan, Hardy, Bischoff etc all coming in when they did. They should have focused on centering the federation around Styles and they blew it big time because Styles was on fire at the time. Longest TNA World Championship run, ending Sting's streak, big storylines, all the skills a federation could ask for, the recipe for successs was RIGHT THERE and THEY HAD IT, but screwed up. He could only have kept becoming bigger as a star and eventually more people would have taken noticed. He may still get another shot, but like I said, this is TNA and they couldn't book a feud that makes sense to save their lives. Putting him in the title picture with Roode would be a perfect step into the right direction. Throw some other TNA originals in there like Daniels. They need to ease up on pushing the WWE/WCW rejects. Even just a little bit will benefit them greatly.
