James Storm Impressed?

Pre-Show Stalwart
For the record, I dislike TNA for the same reasons as everyone else. But Thursday night, for the first time in two months or so, I watched it. And I was like, same old Immortal/Hogan vs Anderson crap, same old RVD in the middle blah blah, but then James Storm vs Abyss started I said, this will just be a boring squash match. I could not be more wrong. Storm was in control and close to winning several times. I forget exactly when, but about halfway in, I said Abyss will win with a BHS. Usually the guy with the most near pin falls loses. But still, the code Breaker and back breaker were amazing. I forget which, but I remember somebody saying a beer money member reminded them of Triple H. If it was Storm, or even if it wasn't, i agree. Anyone else feel this way at all?

James Storm is an impressive wrestler and can be impressive on the microphone, but the problem with him is, that due to him being in a tag team with Robert Roode whose more impressive than Storm both as a wrestler and on the microphone it shadows Storm's true talents.

James Storm was doing okay as a singles competitor after AMW, but his main problem is the fact that he can't seem to do well without a tag team partner. I'm sure that if you let him be a singles competitor now, that he'd do well, probably be a mid-card talent and a heel, but Robert Roode would be x2 that of Storm.

As everyone else? Right...

But Thursday night, for the first time in two months or so, I watched it. The HHH comparison is Roode. Quite clearly, if you had watched any BMI match you would have seen that.

I love me some James Storm. I think he is talented as hell and absolutely doesnt deserve to be dismissed because everyone wants to jump to Roode. If Roode is HHH then I see Storm as an Austin. He is quite underrated.

As someone else said, Roode is the one similar to HHH. In fact, sometimes it's amazing just how similar they are in terms of manerisms & wrestling manuevers. But I agree on Storm. TNA doesn't really have as many tag teams now as they once did, but I wouldn't mind them turning Storm heel & haveing him & Roode feud. They could have Immortal bribe Storm with the TV title, which may not seem like much, but Storm could sell it by saying that he's been a tag team wrestler his entire career, and holding an singles title of any kind means everything to him. He & Roode could then feud, either over the TV title or without it. As for the tag titles, you could give them to the Douglas Williams/Brutus Magnus team, or back to the Motor City Machine Guns. TNA definitely needs some new blood in the tag division though.

James Storm is one of the main reason I keep coming back to TNA. That and the fact I just love wrestling and will watch whatever promotions I can get on the TV. I've always been a big fan of Beer Money. I see a lot in Roode, but I've always been a bigger fan of James Storm. He has pretty much everything you need to succeed in the biz. Sure he can lose a few pounds as he's got a bit of a gut, but it doesn't effect his overall effectiveness in the ring. Storm and go and he got a pretty good match out of Abyss and that is saying something. I think Storm can be a big time player if TNA gives a chance to break out of his tag team wrestling shell.

James storm was always my favourite of the two, I love that for a bigger guy he'll pull a flying head scissors or his last call super kick out of NOWHERE!

Man...I wish these guys were in the wwe

i have been impressed with james storm for a long time now i always thought he could do great things in TNA on his own if given the chance im a huge fan of Beer Money in fact there my fav team in wrestling right now BUT i always thought BOTH roode & storm could be world champions on their own i agree roode is better then storm overall but id love to see Beer Money break up sometime and give them a chance to shine on their own let them have a fued (which would be pretty good) then let them both move into the TNA title picture! i doubt it will happen as 1 member of a tag team usually ends up a big star while the other seems to never go far but id love to see this happen

I've been impressed with James since Amw, he was carrying that group for years. He was great then, but now he's even better. I do believe that Roode is the better all around guy, but that is just because of his Mic work. And from what I saw of him when Traci Brookes was his maniger. I haven't seen Storm carry himself in singles competition like I have Roode.

I believe he could go his own, but I know Roode could. I am impressed with the growing he has done since Amw, but I also need to know what he can do outside of a tag team. I hope they don't just throw him to the side if they break up Bmi soon, because he is a great tag team tallent. But he needs to be built up as a singles star just like Roode will be.

For the record, I still love TNA and guys like Fortune are the reason why, both members of BM are fantastic and have developed off each other.

For those saying Roode is the stronger member, we'll see - the Miz was regarded the weak member of JoMo/ Miz remember, Scotty was regarded as the uncharismatic member of the Steiners, Chris Harris was regarded the stronger member of AMW. Nobody can know who would make the stronger singles wrestler until they go solo. There is no reason why both can't be massive, they've both got the skill set.

But if I was to split them, I'd keep them apart until they make their names individually because whoever lost a breakup feud would have the uphill battle of the 'Jannetty' stigma to get over (just look at Team 3D presently).

One last point, Storm doesn't need to lose weight - he's a beer swilling Cowboy, a sixpack and toned look would actually take away from this; just look at Stone Cold!
