I'm kinda surprised this hasn't already been made. It's an awesome story.

Dad keeps daughter in a cellar for nearly 25 years. Has her as a sex slave, spawns 7 kids. His name is Josef Fritzl (Awesome name). He was only found out because one of the kids got sick and he took it to hospital. The childs mother/sister put a note in her pocket allerting the police I believe.

Half of the kids were kept with their mother, the other live with their dad/grandad upstairs with the grandmother. Also apparently the grandmother didn't know anything about this. She was told that her daughter had run away. But what about all the kids that Josef aquired of the years, did that nor appear to be a little strange?

He looks a little like Vincent Price imo.

I know, I couldnt believe this when i read it on the courier mail (Queensland paper) website. And to be locked up for 24 odd years is just fucking cruel, think of all the shit she missed out on, she probably doesnt even know and therefore have the chance to hate Cena and to be held as a sex slave for that CLB is simply sick. That guy has ruined not only her life but the lives of her kids, and pretty much anyone who knows him. I dont know the lady but yeah my thoughts are with her, I know it doesnt mean shit to her but I wish her the best with the start of her life.
IMO this guy has to go away for life without parole at the very least for any sort of justice to be served, he should rot away in 2m x 2m x 2m box for life.
Anyway I am sure that everyone who reads this or has heard about it would have to have the same opinion.

My only thing is that I find it extremely hard to believe that the mother knew nothing about it at all, its possible I will grant but seriously something is just not right with that. How can you live in a place that long and not know there is a secret room there? Also as Jake said wouldnt all these kids showing up be a little odd, also how did the CLB explain his mysterious disappearances all that time?

Second. How on earth wouldn't the Grandmother, or anyone for that matter not hear the Daughter & children yelling for help, talking, playing, LIVING?! I mean.. did the Daughter just not try at all to get away and waited 25 yrs. to plan all of this out perfectly, thinking to herself..

"One day one of you shall get very ill. This will be the day we fight back, I've written this note before 6 of you were born, but none of you have been ill. We can't fake an illness, its too cautious, so until one of you get sick from living in the basement, we shall wait."

And indeed for 25 years they did.

My only thought, outside of the Grandmother clearly being stone def.. is that this guy is a doctor of some kind, because how else would she of survived the pregnancy of the first child, let alone the next 6?

Sick doesn't even begin to describe how much this story is. Wow is the only word I could find to sum it up, simply because short of the children being chained, or the Mother/Daughter being very well trained.. how can you just keep them all in a basement for 25 yrs?

How old were the children? I mean, 25 yrs is a long time.. and if she got pregnant with the first, early, you'd think that child would've done something. And furthermore, you mentioned some living upstairs. (could've been classified to the Grandmother as a bastard child, that the Father later found out about) But you're telling me NONE of them bothered to hear anything, or go to the basement, for anything?

I've been in every room in my house, any house I've ever lived in. Not because I needed to, simply because I hate knowing there is a room in a place I've lived.. that I haven't been in, or checked out from time to time.

Elisabeth (The captive) believed she and her kids would be gassed if they escaped. The kids in the basement were 19, 18 and 5. The basement was locked by a keyless lock system, they were saying on the news that it was hi-tech.

But yeah I was just thinking, where did the air come from? They would have needed air, you would think that someone noticed piping or something? The basement would have to have been soundproof to the max one would think.

As said above though how in the world do you live somewhere and not know every square inch of the place especially after 24 years? The only place in my house that i havent been to is the very corners in the roof space, but at least i know its there.

Apparently it's now come to light that he got bored of his daughter as a sex slave. He was bored with her and didn't find her attractive anymore. Probably down to the fact she'd gone gray and was weak having not being exposed to light for nearly 25 years.

He then opted to use his eldest grandaughter as his latest sex slave. So it's said. Although it's just speculation as she's in a coma and is almost certain not to recover.

Has to be the most fucked up story i have ever read about! You just wouldnt think that something like this could happen, 24 years with no sunlight, 24 years worth of abuse from your own father and having to give birth to his 7 kids with at least 1 dying in the room with her from neglect...

As for the comments about why didnt they shout from what i read he soundproofed the room and built it so no one could escape/get in. IIRC the room had 8 doors, at least 3 were electronically locked and the main door wrighed half a tonne!!!

The worst thing i read was that the daughter had to ask for vitamin tablets and a uv lamp for the kids so they could have a small fraction of actually growing up normally without physical abnormalities, just the fact she had to ask her dad/rapist/captor to provide for her and his kids/grandkids..Just really fucked up.

All i can say is i hope somehow he gets killed for what he has done, he will never get the sort of punisment he deserves in jail so the best thing to do would be to put him down.

How this hasn't been uncovered sooner is beyond me. It's one of the worst cases of abuse I've ever researched, and that's saying something.

What she was put through is complete horror most people could never dream about, and how she survived is an even bigger mystery. Sunlight is needed for the body to produce Vitamin D which is needed to help the body function. I don't know how so many of them survived.

And how did no one get suspicious from any of these going ons? I don't go in my basement that often, but I sure as hell know that my family aren't keeping a load of children down there. And also, I'm sure within 25 years I'd have become suspicious of my neighbour if I lived near this man.

This is terrible when I put it into perspective. I'm 22 years old, that means the whole time I have been alive and then some, this women was locked in a basement forced to have sex with her father who is a creepy looking man to say the least.

Its absolutely terrible. Her and her children had no chance of a normal life simply because of who they were born too. They have no knowledge of the outside world or how anything works. Its not like when people are kidnapped at a later age in life and escape years later. These people have never seen the outside world.

I have a very hard time believing the grandmother didn't know, I think its a cover up. There is no way you wouldn't just stumble upon it after 25 years. Its hard to even see the discovery as a win for the mother and her kids. They are already scared for life.

Same thing happened to Dahmer. Any time a highly publicized case like this with such a depraved nature comes up, the perpetrator is usually killed.

And the way he explained the kids turned up was that the daughter had left them on the doorstep and wanted them to take care of the kids. 24 fucking years, my god... I know you're joking, but the sad thing is I'll bet you will have people who will defend him in some way.

I find myself trying to understand the human mind, and how something so socially unacceptable and disgraceful can happen. How can a person justify this in their mind?

I think it's a missing filter. Have you ever been about to do something dumb or bad, and you stop and hear that little voice that tells you what you're about to do is totally screwed up? You then weigh the consequences, and stop.

I don't mean conscience, I mean just knowing that something is socially and morally reprehensible and shouldn't be done.

Now that's what I call really fucked up...being stuck in a basement, a dark, dreary place for your entire life, knowing nothing but being raped by your FATHER and birthing his children, raising them up in those conditions, now that's really messed up. And for those suggesting death immediately...he deserves to be punished first, immediate death would be the easy way out.

Some questions though, they said they were informed by a note when one of the kids got sick...so he taught her how to write? Where would she have gotten that idea?

I'm pretty sure the girl was older when he locked her in the basement. Probably around 13 or 14, when girls can physically have babies. Before captivity is most-likely where she learned to read and write. As the guy said his daughter was reported to have run away, then dropped her kids off on the doorstep whenever she had one, which was not the case at all. The mother/grandmother is definitely covering it up. 24 years without knowing what the code is...? What would fucking happen if she put in the wrong code? ADT security shows up at the door, sees eight half-tonne doors in the basement all digitally locked, resets the code and leaves? C'mon now...
