I've Got Low Expecations For Raw Tonight

Wise words spoken by Jack-Hammer. I agree 100% that old Vinnie Mac is indeed losing touch. I'm okay with a themed episode of Raw. Give me Old School Raw any day of the week. As was pointed out, Survivor Series (One of the all time classics and original Pay Per Views of WWE) is on this Sunday night and will I be buying it this year....NO! Every year I buy the four big Pay Per Views, Rumble, Mania, Summerslam and Survivor Series and I've bought the other three so far but I'm pulling the plug on Survivor Series. Yes an Elimination match was just match and thank God because it was these matches that started the tradition and I still think to this day that the Company should go back to having Survivor Series as an all Tag Team event.

5 or 6 Elimination matches featuring lots of talent and it gets loads of star athletes on TV plus they could easily build good Storylines from the tag matches. Partners turning on one and other, Good guys go bad and vice versa. Tonights Raw will surely be nothing more than a joke with maybe an hour and a half of good build up. Gauranteed we get a Country Whipping Match or some shit like that. What WWE needs to do is this,

They have 3 hours of Raw and they need to use them wisely

1st Hour: Half hour promo for one of the big Championship Matches at the Series. Good build up setting up a good main event.

2nd Hour: Go Country, let them have their fun for a good hour or 30 mins. Few matches, Backstage nonsense, but throw in a decent story building match, like Cody and Goldust with the USO's taking on The Shield with the All Americans. Bring in the mystery partner once it breaks down.

3rd Hour: Few more funny skits with several (non-popular comic) Superstars and then finally give us a good ending. Imagine Raw ending with a Country song. Tonights show needs to end with either Orton or Del Rio over their respective opponents on Sunday, Or Punk and Bryan.

Overall tonights show has the potential to be a good show but it can't all be Comedy. WWE Needs to get serious, themed episode or not Survivor Series is this Sunday and something needs done.
Lol "Vince is out of touch" *clamors for nostalgia acts*

The amount of bitching on here is INSANE. Cousin Fuckers or Duck Dynasty or whatever is huge, country stuff does sell and a huge part of the WWE universe is like that.

I too had low expectations of this Raw but I actually quite enjoyed it. I think the Raws lately have been average but this was much better and entertaining parts throughout.

Big E winning the IC belt was a great moment with him finally getting his title match. Xavier Woods made his debut as well as The Miz turning heel which is something I have been longing for. I thought 3MB were funny as usual; Cena/Del provided a decent segment to promote their match and the main-event was of a high quality.

Yes, that country band were pretty annoying and the Ryback/Show match was very strange but there were positives within the show. The musical chairs segment was fucking awful but Summer Rae's presence made it worthwhile.

The two best things about Raw were Rey and Orton. I was never excited about seeing Rey back but when he actually came down to the ring I was delighted. Injuries have really messed him about and I hope he can have a solid end to his career. Finally, I thought Orton was at the very top of his game. People will disagree but I thought the initial promo was fantastic and proves Orton can actually speak. His beat down of Maddox was intense and the confrontation with The Authority made things interesting.

Not the perfect Raw by any means but there were a lot of great moments, promos and matches and I think they did a great job of building to Survivor Series.

This thread couldn't have been more indicative of the current attitude of the internet wrestling era. I hate to be that guy, but I really wish people would just stop ragging on everything and just try to enjoy the goddamn product, for once. You guys didn't even wait to see the show before you were all, "WHAT THE HELL IS VINCE DOING, THIS IS SO STUPID BEFORE SURVIVOR SERIES?!?!"

Instead we got a great match between Dolph Ziggler and Damien Sandow, Big E. winning the IC title, a little treat for country fans that didn't last long at all, the Raw debut of Xavier Woods, and the return of Rey Mysterio. And, if you're into that, a hilarious segment between Vickie and AJ.

I'm convinced some of you should just quit watching wrestling. You don't even want to enjoy it.

It was a much better RAW than I was expecting, that's for sure. I was surprised by how many of the matches I liked last night.

In our defense however, how many times has it played out exactly the way we were expecting? Quite often. I'm an old schooler. That means you have a build to a PPV. I'm still long for the days when Mean Gene Okerlund was hyping each new PPV match. Now, you never really know what you're going to end up getting.

I didn't watch this Raw but I ended up torrenting it when I heard Xavier Woods debuted. I ended up watching Curtis Axel vs Big E and the main event and I skipped the rest. Overall this show was horrible even though it had one of the most enjoyable main events in recent history.

The Florida Georgia Line is both a shitty name for a band and a shitty band in general. The show just had too much country crap in it and the fact that apparently JBl and Lawler are country fans made the commentary almost unbearable. The Instruments match or whatever they called it made me think that Russo was back.

Sad thing is that if WWE would have hyped Raw's main event or the Xavier Woods debut I probably would have watched live and contributed to the ratings. Instead I ended up torrenting it so I could skip the bullshit that they did hype. This show is definitive evidence that the people in charge at WWE are completely out of touch.
