It turns out I don't like Jeff Hardy very much at all

Uncle Sam

Rear Naked Bloke
Would you look at that. Sorry for misleading you, folks. I genuinely thought for a little while that I liked Jeff Hardy. I just realised that I don't though. What a turnaround.

Seriously though, he's terrible. Sloppiest wrestler in wrestling right now. I don't even know how his moves are meant to be done correctly - that's how often he'll fuck them up.

All the same, I'd still like a Jeff Hardy title reign. You know, 'cos it's something new. I like new things.

I think you're wrong, Sam. Jericho & Punk are way sloppier. At least Jeff only hurts himself. Jericho will cripple somebody one day.

Hardy must better, I like him now. Hated the guy for about 8 years. Now I'd give him a 3/5 star rating if I was that way inclined.

i've never been a fan a jeff fan. i guess he was ok during his tenure with matt and there epic ladder matches with edge and christian. but at that time jeff was used the way he should be used. now to me he has become extremly overrated. he seems to get more title shots than he deserves. dont get me wrong i respect him but like i said he is overrated.

Am I the only one who was surprised at how deep his voice was!? Seriously I though his voice was gonna be higher than an American flag on the 4th of July.

In all seriousness though, I have never and will never be a fan of Jeff Hardy. As you have said before, he is sloppy and I think there is quite a good chance that he is gonna hurt someone excluding himself. He bothes things too many times for me to be entirely confortable about him. I mean, he even botched his walk to the ring on Monday night. That takes quite a lot of stupidity on your part. I think it's the crowd taht get me though, I tend to hate whoever the crowd cheers for.

He is a bit overrated but hes probably the most over babyface in the WWE atm so it makes sense to push him. I quite like him personally, his promos can be god awful but i like to see the new inventive ways he can throw himself off high objects

i liked jeff since he was a tag team. i always knew he would be a champion. but i thought matt would do it first. he is a much better wrestler and jeff gets attention because he is a high flyer. matt is also clean. no drugs.

I mean, he even botched his walk to the ring on Monday night. That takes quite a lot of stupidity on your part.
Yeah. Because none of us intelligent professionals have ever tripped while walking. Hevans no.

I like Hardy. Yes, on occasion the man brings the slop. But he's a great seller and that adds a lot to a match.. especially ones using the typical WWE formula. Not only that, but Hardy's connection with the audience makes his comebacks all the hotter. I have no problem watching Hardy.

And in response to Sam's assertion that Jeff is the sloppiest wrestler in the E at the moment, I'll see your Jeff Hardy and raise you a Kofi Kingston. I just get the feeling that he has plenty of off nights where he can't control his frenzy and that should really be taken into account during these discussions.

Wow yet another person hating on Jeff Hardy. Is Jeff Hardy the new John Cena? the everybody hates him but then everyone will eventually end up loving him kinda guy?

Fair enough you are entitled to your opinion and least you gave Jeff a chance unlike the other idiots on here who just hate him because 'he's a spot monkey who does meth.' Jeff Hardy is the most entertaining guy in the WWE, near enough everytime he is in the ring he has the match of the night but that must be everybody else carrying his sloppy style....I'm sure. Yeah he has the occasional 'fuck up' when attempting the whisper in the wind and maybe the run across the guard rail he does but that takes a lot of balance, I dont think I've seen him fuck up any other move in his arsenal. When has he ever seriously injured anybody from attempting his hi-risk moves other than Matt Hardy?

I have always been a Jeff Hardy fan, he is very unique in a way and can pull some of the crazy shit you have never seen back in the day. But he has grown up and he is one of the most popular wrestlers in WWE today, even more popular than John Cena and Shawn Michaels are right now. Yeah he may trip, so what or be sometimes sloppy, but wasn't that at some points Edge or Triple H like that when they got to their first main event status. Yeah. And by the way for all of those Matt Hardy fans out there, if you want to know how to eat the same stuff he does, his diet is having like 12 cheeseburgers from McDonald's.

I think you're wrong, Sam. Jericho & Punk are way sloppier. At least Jeff only hurts himself. Jericho will cripple somebody one day.

Jericho? Mayhaps. For somebody who people talk about having a lot of finesse, he really just doesn't. It will be very entertaining when he cripples someone though.

Punk? I've never said this before, and I'll never say this again; just no.

Hardy must better, I like him now. Hated the guy for about 8 years. Now I'd give him a 3/5 star rating if I was that way inclined.

As would I, but I haven't seen him do the Twist of Fate or Whisper in the Wind properly in months.

To be honest, I never liked Jeff, I understand why people like him, and admire how much he has improved over the past 18 months or so, he's tried to bring new lease to his character with the Face paint, but to me he's the best when he's with his brother. Look at their feud, I loved it, most people didn't, he got over with his brother, as his overness was going down, they reteamed teh hardys up and it got them over once again.

So regarding jeff, I'm very middle of the road, as an individual no, as a tag team wrestler, he's great.

It seems Jeff Hardy is one of those guys you either love or hate, no in betweens. I think the guy is a legend and awesome to watch in the ring. I hate seeing comments about spots and not many moves or whatever the fuck people say about him, wrestling people is about entertainment. Not about who has more technical moves or who does the cleanest fucking suplex. It's about entertainment. Jeff entertains the fuck out of the crowd and does it every night. To say he doesn't is rediculous.

I don't mind if you don't get into it but to keep on going on about 'spot monkey' and 'small moveset' really shits me. Sorry Sam, I know that's not what you may have been on about.

I really don't know how I feel about this guy. I loved him in the 'Team Xtreme' days, but I got bored with him once that all ended. Then I supported him when he returned in 2006. But that soon ended after he got suspended. Once he come back, I marked out. Happy to see that he's getting a decent push, instead of being the midcarder and forever holding the IC Championship. But as soon as he f'd up with that last suspension, I lost all my love for him. He got pushed hard and even got a win over Trips, so once he came back, I really couldn't be bothered with him.

On the other hand, I enjoy his character, he has really enjoyable matches from time to time, he's a good watch. He's like a Rob Van Dam that actually got a good push. If he hadn't messed up, then I would love the guy, but since it happened, I just support him.

As would I, but I haven't seen him do the Twist of Fate or Whisper in the Wind properly in months.

I've never seen him to the Whisper In The Wind properly, at all. Not once. It's like that move he used to do where he ran across the guard rail and hurt himself more than his opponent.

It looked stunning.

So for the first...year? of his comeback, all through those "awesome" feuds with Umaga and Carlito, I thought the whisper in the wind was where he did a corkscrew flip and kicked them in the head on the way down. Simply because he would land no where near the opponent, yet JR would still cream himself as if he could fly. Turns out he was actually trying to land on his opponent. I think. Wait, what is he supposed to do?

I think he botches the twist of fate more than the guard rail thing. He forgets half way he supposed to be holding on to their neck, so he grabs their hair for support. Take it from Jeff Hardy kids, real men pull hair.

I'm sort of indifferent to Jeff Hardy. I'm not a huge fun of the guy but I don't detest him. He is one of the better entertainers in the WWE and puts his body on the line each and every night. I wouldn't invest in him with a long title reign but I think he deserves at least a two to three month one.

wait wait wait....let me get this right, you hate Jeff Hardy because hes sloppy? and you have CM Punk in your sig? LMAO Hes just as sloppy if not sloppier than Jeff Hardy in the Ring. Have you seen CM Punk at a live event? Hes God-awful live. Im past the age where I think Wrestling is real, but its still cool to watch, but watching CM Punk vs Kane live, made me want to leave the event, because it was barely watchable.

Sure Jeff blows spots, misses moves, and fucks up, but you cannot honestly tell me that CM Punk is much better.

I've been a fan of Jeff since back in the day when he was taging with Matt. Do I think he's overrated atm? Yes, but its not his fault he can connect with the fans. This guy has worked for so many years in to finally be in the main event scene in WWE. I think the only person he's injured in the ring is himself and possibly Joey Mercury but I'm not sure about that. True he has made mistakes in the past with drugs but seriously, don't we all make mistakes? Or are we all just perfect? He's been in so many high profile dangerous matches to entertain us but now that he's in the main event we can just forget all the work he's done in WWE and say that he sucks because he's one of the top guys now? IMO give the guy a break.

But I do respect everyones opinion of course so I don't want to sound like I'm bashing on your opinion.

Well, I've only started watching WWE again in the last two months or so, so I can't attest to what they were like before I came back, but I can honestly say that CM Punk is much better - or at the very least, considerably less sloppy - than Jeff Hardy.

I dig that Hardy's gimmick is a guy that just throws himself around a lot though, so I'm starting to think it's understandable that he has absolutely no finesse.

CM Punk not sloppy. He has only broke some nosies doing the gts. Second thought Punk is sloppier than jeff.

Did you read his post? He said the last two months when he's really got into watching again. Which I agree with, Punk has picked up his game alot this year and I doubt he fails this time.

Secondly, don't kid yourself. There's hardly anyone more sloppy in the biz than Jeff Hardy. There's a reason he can barely climb a turnbuckle right now, and is wanting time off, his sloppy, reckless style has gotten the best of him. If Jeff was worth a damn, he would have never had to use this style to stay over.

Couldn't agree more. I really like Kofi and think he has bags of potential, but I almost feel like he's been pushed too quickly. Look at his early ECW matches in comparison to his recent Raw matches. ECW's were much smoother, less sloppy. I don't know whether he's putting himself under pressure, or whether it just happens to be the opponents his working with, i'm really not so sure.

One thing I will say on the Jeff Hardy thing is I can't for the life of me understand how he is THAT over..? One thing I considered was Jeff hasn't actually changed at all during his WWE tenure. He's always been this flaily emo who always seems to have a 80% committment about him (in his body language, not necessarilly how committed he genuinely is.. I'm not doubting that). Now most guys who have risen through the ranks have adapted their character and expanded it. I just find Jeff really uninteresting and very stale. I think WWE have used him to their advantage thought for sure. Doing things like putting him in the audience and cutting a promo is the perfect way to mask his lack of mic skills, purely for the fact the audience are too busy marking out for Jeff being amongst them to care about the quality of what's being said.

I really don't mind his in-ring work too much, and can forgive some sloppiness. I mean afterall, he's given alot physically. But like I said, I just can't for the life of me understand how he is that over.

I think he wants time off to heal from the past few years of the WWE using him like a mule in all the high risk, and dangerous matches hes been involved in. Hes high risk, thats part of his gimmick, thats what gets people to pop for him, because they know he'll come out and do something completely fucking nuts putting life and limb on the line to win at all costs. Sure at times hes slopping, but like I said before CM Punk is just as sloppy.

And whose faults that? Jeff's been willing to do these stunts for years. After a certain amount of time, they'll become attached to you and that's what you'll be known for.

And there's no way in hell Punk is as sloppy as Jeff. No way.

I think the sloppiness is part of Jeff Hardy's charm. People know he's not going for style points, but somehow that flying bag of limbs gets more of a pop than anyone else on Smackdown. He's not going for "style" as in technical prowess or a cleanly executed move, but his style is more like "I'm just gonna heave myself offa this here turnbuckle and kinda let my leg swing and knock you out". The fans are attracted to that. We talk all the time about how Austin and Rock were so over because they were anti-heroes. Well, Hardy is over as a straight-up babyface because he's the anti-wrestler.
