Is WWE dropping the "Control Over WWE" Story

Well the plan was for HHH to go on a power trip and Vince McMahon to step in leading to a macth at Mania seeing HHH vs (Insert Name Here) /w/Mr. McMahon for full control over WWE.But lately HHH has kinda seemed like a babyface who hasn't been on much of an power trip besides of having 2 matches (he didn't techinacally make) made for TLC.Other than that the other problem with that is Mr.McMahon returning with HHH.Unless their feud is going to be over something silly I don't see how it could work out anymore. But I think their dropping it.If any one remembers the original story was HHH's retirement story.

Replacement Story's

Could be The Authority /w/ Randy Orton vs CM Punk for the WWE Undisputed Heavyweight Title at WM XXX (But that would mean HHH wouldn't have a match)

Randy Orton vs Triple H II (WrestleMania wise anyway) Randy could get beside himself considering himself the biggest legend of all time,Turn on The Authority (Turning The Authority Face)

Punk vs HHH (Except he wouldn't be defending Mr.McMahon it could be starting about HHH and Mr.McMahon lack of vision in talent like himself in Bryan.
Anyway put your opinion on whether or not you think the story is still on or not.And put how your would make the story when control, one of these ones,or one of your one custom ones.

Where was it set in stone that Triple H would face Vince, or a Vince rep, at WM? I know it was rumored to have been talke about by creative but nothing that made it on screen ever gave us any indication it was going down. Wrestlemania is still over three months away and while creative is working hard to put together a card its more than likely they are not committed to anything. They still need to confirm who will be back and where to fit them in. With the Authority program give it some more time. Vince just returned so you no a twist is coming.

i think we will see hhh and vinces power struggle at some point but i dont think its in the works right now.although to be honest i dont really know what to make of this whole authority storyline wwe just seem to be making it up as they go along i hope they have a big pay off planned for the end but i doubt they have one yet so far it has involved most of the major stars in one way or another and most have had history with each other aswell if creative cant come up with something good for mania from all that then they really do suck lol.

Well, they have a couple of months to figure something out, but currently I don't see the storyline taking place. Thats not to say that it wont happen, I'm sure Vince is already thinking of a way to write himself off TV, but right now theres no indication of how its going to turn out. Nothing is set in stone and its a bit presumptuous to think that one can predict what Wrestlemania will look like given how many drafts and endings are written for the ppv.

Yes they are, the story sucks anyway so not that it matters. Of those options you mentioned CM Punk vs Triple H is the WrestleMania match most people are anticipating to happen. Nothing is set in stone of course yet.

It's difficult to say at this point because, according to various reports, Vince has been flip flopping quite a bit for the past few months. For instance, the way things were being set up, it APPEARED as though we could see Bryan vs. Triple H, then Big Show got made into a huge focus, then there was talk of Show vs. Trips at Survivor Series, then it got bumped to TLC and finally the feud was nixed altogether with Big Show's big push suddenly stopped cold. It's still possible that some ideas, such as Bryan vs. Triple H, could go down as we're still about 4.5 months away from WrestleMania.

As far as the control angle goes, it's all up in the air at this point. Vince made his on-screen return last night at TLC, so odds are that he'll make his TV return on tonight's Raw. He seemed pleased that Orton is the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and Orton is the "hand picked" face of WWE, so there's no conflict there. Unless something breaks down over the next few months, the idea may have been nixed.

If the idea has been nixed, then it's possible that it's for the best. Triple H & Stephanie have been great heels, in my opinion, and have screwed over some very popular top guys in various angles, such as Daniel Bryan & CM Punk. They've generated some great heat, so I can't help but feel that the past few months may be all for nothing if they simply turn Triple H babyface. I simply don't see Vince as making it as a babyface character as the Mr. McMahon persona is far too established in people's minds; especially if Vince behaves that cocky way that's typical of him on camera. There's also the potential of Vince vs. Trips overshadowing some of the top programs for WrestleMania and that shouldn't happen, in my opinion. Vince McMahon is 68 years old, so the notion of him being such a central figure, whether he wrestles in a match or not, at WrestleMania against his 24 years younger son-in-law who can still deliver in the ring just isn't all that exciting. Could it be salvaged? It's possible, but I think it would involve having someone go up against Triple H that's either insanely over with fans, to have Vince & Trips represented by two guys who're both really over while Vince & Triple H are more in the background. The problem with that is I don't see them as remaining in the background. Rather than being about "control of WWE", it has a big chance of devolving into one trying to outdo the other simply for the purposes stroking his ego with the surrogate wrestlers playing the part of trained monkeys or puppets.

I believe that HHH (and possibly Steph) vs. Vince for ultimate control of the WWE will happen eventually, but probably not at WM30. I did enjoy the HHH vs. Vince story (it was happening this past Summer - ending at SS when Randy cashed in on Bryan, yes?), but the story was started too soon for it to culminate at WM30. It would have been too hard to keep Vince & HHH at odds for eight or nine months, so they had HHH turn heel. Vince was then no longer needed on WWE TV for a while, but now he's back...so they could pick up where they left off earlier this Summer, but I don't think it fits with the current storyline. In order for that to happen, either Vince or HHH would have to have a major change of heart, and I don't believe that would "make sense" for either of the characters right now.

The other reason why I don't see this picking up again so soon, is because I don't believe Vince is ready to be written off TV (for good) yet. I believe that if/when this power struggle happens, HHH would have to come out on top. It will happen eventually, there's no one else that the fans would believe Vince would be willing to pass the torch to (unless it's Steph or Shane, and I personally believe that HHH is a better fit). Even thought it would be a storyline, it would have a sense of realism to a lot of the fans.

In order for HHH to seem "in control" of the WWE (if/when the power struggle storyline finally culminates), Vince would have to disappear from WWE TV for good. I just don't think Vince is ready for that now (or in 2014, for that matter), but he will be ready to hand the keys to HHH eventually. As I've been saying in other posts, I don't have a crystal ball...just a gut feeling. Then again, I also thought that HHH would've become the WWE WHC last night, so what the hell do I know? If HHH had become champ last night, then I could easily see Vince vs. HHH at WM30. Vince would have had to deal with HHH's "out of control ego", or whatever. With the TLC outcome being what it was, Vince vs. HHH (for control of the company) doesn't seem likely any time soon. Then again, we all know that things can drastically change in the blink of an eye. I'm excited for Raw tonight, and the next few months of WWE programming regardless.

how is this storyline still going? nobody is buying the ppvs and ratings aren't exactly stellar, so its not helping business, so why does it still exist?

I didn't think it was a plan, more of a small rumor that got snowballed into a big one that involved the return of either Hogan or Austin to be in McMahon's corner.

From what I've seen regarding HHH's backing from McMahon last night and when Orton won the belt before, this rumored match doesn't look like it will happen anytime soon.

It is interesting, however, that McMahon has yet to really make any sort of peep during this whole Authority storyline. I don't even remember the last time he talked.

I'm not sure how they use The Authority at Wrestlemania, and indeed, the WWE Heavyweight Championship. A few months ago, I was thinking Orton/Bryan and Triple H facing someone on behalf of Vince (The Rock always stuck in my mind)

Now, I'm not to sure. Triple H should wrestle at Mania and, in my opinion, Bryan is the only option. It would be a waste of Punk and we have seen him face Orton several times. Triple H vs Bryan makes perfect sense and would actually give us closure to this feud.

One problem is that Vince should probably be face heading into WM30. That being said, he should necessarily be with Bryan. I think Vince should remain a separate entity and be the "face" authority figure because we need one. Triple H shouldn't be making decisions that people cheer: let Vince do that.

As for the title: Orton vs Punk is fine. I'd even consider adding Sheamus into that match. Orton vs Punk would be a great way to extend the authority storyline. Punk's character is about him being a rebel and being his own guy which is a contrast to Orton. Moreover, it would be a fantastic match.

I wonder if they even know who the Rumble winner can be.....Only two options stick out to me, and nobody else but something tells me it'll be someone else...

They dropped the story after SummerSlam as it was revealed that HHH was full of shit and only acted a certain way to keep DB close enough and off guard long enough in case he held the title. The "story" was a big fake out with the purpose of making DB and the fans feel like fools. It worked.

They may do the story some day. They could even fill it in to WM30 if they want with 3+ months to go. I hope they don't, I like the "best for business duo" of HHH and Steph. I like that are not just a simple face or heel duo, but rather some third gender that just wants to make money for the company and themselves. It makes sense in the business world unlike someone like McMahon wanting to fire SCSA despite the millions of dollars he was putting in McMahon's pockets.

I'd say it's over. Yes. For now, anyways.

Vince still seems to be aligned with HHH/Steph, especially due to the twitter pictures taken last night of Orton with both titles. At this point, it would be foolish to mess with a good thing in Trips/Steph, and beyond that, who actually believes Vince is ready to disappear from the on-air role? I just don't see it happening.

It will likely be resumed in some way at a later date. At some point there needs to be a "real" (I use that term loosely) power struggle for control of WWE. But that point isn't now.

See, this is why you don't read reports (aka, fantasy booking from dirt sheet writers talking out their ass). You start asking if they're scrapping stories that never really happened.

I hope to god they drop it. A fight for authority sounds rehashed to he nth degree.

The "control over the WWE" storyline was dropped the moment Triple H turned heel and McMahon came down to the ring with Triple H, Steph and WWE Champ Randy Orton.

I'm not sure why people thought McMahon would come back against Triple H when in the beginning McMahon didn't want Bryan as Champ and throughout the fall Triple H didn't want Bryan as Champ either.
