Is the US Title Race About to Get Interesting?

Uncle Sam

Rear Naked Bloke
With The Miz getting tapped out by Cena on the same night that Swagger made his debut, I reckon that the US title chase got a whole lot interesting.

Swagger and Miz, despite being two heels, seem like they might mix well. And if they don't, well, Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston can just do lots of flips. Yeah, flips are awesome.

Yeah I agree that the U.S title race has the potential to be very interesting seeing that evan bourne and jack swagger have been drafted to raw. And they are already working on Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston as the two face off on raw next week. Hopefully with the acquirements of the new younger talent they will be able to keep U.S title in active storylines on raw. But i do feel that the Miz and Jack Swagger will be pushed into the main event scene rather than U.S title or simply drifting between the midcard and main event.

Swagger and MVP are going to fued and that will push them to the World Title eventually...Even though I feel MVP didn't have a good match last night.Bourne Big Show and Kofi should create some good matches for the US belt...I think they might get another heel involved like Miz it appears his program with Cena is over...I think they need Cena back in the title hunt as HHH will be stale if it isn't already....

OMG Swagger as US champ would be awesome. He as the US champ would add more cred to his charecter, and would make him closer to the main event scene, where he needs to be sooner than later. Swagger is amazing in the ring, and so is Kofi, so the matches would be pretty good as well. Hopefully they battle it out at NOC, because i want swagger to be US champ

Here is the new and improved US contenders in no order

Swagger, Miz, Evan Bourne, The NEW Big Show, Mark Henry

very entertaning group, Im really liking the face Mark Henry and super heel Big Show
and im not one for liking Big huge guys

and im not one for liking Big huge guys

That's what she said

I can't wait to see what happens with the U.S. title picture. I'd like to see a fatal 4-way with Bourne, Kofi, Bigshow and Mark.

To be honest, I'd like to see mark take the U.S. title and then build him up and eventually take the WWE championship, as I think he could be the "Worlds Strongest Man" AND "The World's Most Dominant Man".

I'm not too big on Swagger as U.S. Champ, although it would be somewhat entertaining, I think Swagger needs to work more on the Main Even scene, to refresh things.

It sux having went to the double raw last night cuz I can't talk bout it however wit swagger and borne added to raw and big show showing signs of life...add mvp an this will get very good...henry and miz in my opinion will still be in the main event picture so I wouldn't throw them in the mix but even without them its still looking good...the relavence is starting to get big for the us title

Yes - ever since the U.S. title moved to Raw - it's definitely been given more attention. MVP was a great champion and to see it go to Kofi was pretty awesome too. But now they added more guys who'd look great competing for it. Bourne is a damn great performer and I think everyone agrees his future could be very bright if he keeps it up - which I have confidence that he will. Alot of you are saying that he doesn't need a belt yet - Imma have to say its about time but nothing super major so the U.S. title would be perfect. And I wasn't so high on Swagger but shit he's really getting his stuff down - so he's really changed my mind - it'd be great to see him fued for it as well - and honestly he only needs one run to convince me that he should be a runner up for the WWE title. Bourne needs to win a royal rumble or mitb ladder match!!!

I'm going to fucking miss William Regal.

I see new faces, but that doesn't mean that I feel the US Title hunt is going to be any more interesting than it was before. If Matt Hardy hadn't gotten hurt, who knows how his push would've gone? Furthermore, I'm going to actually miss Regal challenging for the US Belt. He's a fine wrestler, and a true ring general.

And that's the one thing you're missing from the US Title hunt, is a ring general. I suppose you could count The Big Show, and that's all well and good, but I feel the belt's a bit beneath him. He's already worn it, and after getting a victory over Cena last week, what sense does it make to relegate him to a secondary title the next week? And either than that, I can't name a legit ring general to call the matches out there. Can I believe in Swagger calling spots during a match, or in Kofi telling a ref they're getting all of their shit in? No, I can't see someone being the guiding hand amongst all of the clusterfuck we're all prepared to see. I suppose Carlito could be... It'd be quite interesting to see Carlito back in the US Title hunt. He is an established vet, and knows how to call spots, so I suppose I could see that.

Just ad addendum as well, Sam.... You forgot guys DiBiase. If he's really going to branch out like fans think he should, he should really start with the US Strap. Legacy itself isn't doing much at the moment, and Randy is kinda becoming a stagnant WWE Champ (again, before you jump down my throat, read my comparison between Scar of The Lion King and Randy Orton in a thread titled "Randy Orton's Crappy Push". It will enlighten). So seeing Ted go after a belt would be interesting.

Otherwise, it's new faces... But I have no idea where these matches will go, quite frankly

Hell yeah this should provide some interesting matches coming in the near future for this strap. It's wierd cause i'm definitely starting to get into Mark Henry more as well. He had an outstanding performance at The Bash as he was booked as an unstoppable contender(which he should have been booked as his whole career) and on Raw he looked good against Orton.

I'd like to see 4-Corner 6-Man Elimination match for the #1 contendership(much like during the attitude era when Edge, D'Lo, Droz, Gangrel, Jeff Jarret, and Marc Mero fought for number 1 contendership for the European Championship give it a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6s0q2X23dWU). This time I'd put...
Jack Swagger Vs. Mark Henry Vs. Big Show Vs. Evan Bourne Vs. Miz Vs.Carlito

Winner goes on to face Kofi at Night of Champions.

I personally like all this wrestling talent coming to RAW. I think it will really make the U.S. Title scene better and give it the credibility it needs (supposing if creative uses the talent right-you know all about what they've done before with good talent). I would personally enjoy seeing Swagger winning the U.S. Title. It would be a good stepping stone for him and he is very entertaining both in and out of the ring. Olus, The All-American American as U.S, Champ? Epic, haha. I would like to see Miz thrown in, I feel he was thrust into the ME too quickly. He could have some good promos with Swagger, maybe one of them could turn face, maybe Swagger? Or toss MVP in there as the face, if nothing else. I would truly enjoy seeing Miz vs. MVP vs. Jack Swagger. Great promos, great wrestling, I'm happy. So yes, if not screwed up, this could be a great way to liven up the U.S. Title picture.

it does certainly look watchable now with the added talent. now they can develop some mid card feuds like Smackdown has. Swagger and Bourne are huge adds to this show as it breathes new life to the main event to get new guys faster and better show overall. Henry is kind of interesting because he got one hell of a crowd chant behind him for outsmarting Orton. this could be a sighn of him getting another run at mainevent that can only help Raw right now with batista out and HBK out. all they have now is HHH, Cena, Orton and Big Show. they need at least 3 more maion event guys and these trades help.
