Is the Diva's Division Changing For The Better?

Yes, reading from the title, you may be put off but who cares, it's just for fun.

Now, over the past month, we have seen a return of the monster herself, Kharma, that 2 divas apart of the main fueds (Eve with Cena & Kane and AJ with Daniel & Big Show) and the fact that they both have played important roles in these fueds (More so AJ) and a 1 on 1 divas championship dream match possibly being built for Wrestlemania, Beth vs Kharma.

So, my question to you is, with all of the diva related stuff going on, is the company going to invest more in the divas and give them longer matches and promo time or is this just a one time luck thing because as we know, backstage management love Kharma and really want to push her so with her back soon, could she be the glue that holds the division together?

I want to say yes, I really do, but right under this thread on the main page is "WWE Signs Lingerie Model" which lets me know nothings really gunna change. It may get good for a wile though, Phenix vs Kharma at mania should be awesome and im hoping Beth gets her wish of the first Divas Ladder Match. And hopefully Natalie can stop farting.

Right Now, it' kinda early to tell for now. After all we have Natalya taking air dumps now no thanks to creative. Khrama hasn't even returned offically. We'l have to wait 'till around Wrestlemania 28. Hopefully if things go the right direction we can see Beth vs Phoenix. After all on last night's RAW Beth did say that there's no competiton for her. If Khrama comes back in time to face Beth @ 'Mania then an Khrama vs Beth Phoenix can definitely be a step in the right direction.

I think the pendulum is starting to swing back in the right direction. Kharma should be back to full-time wrestling soon and Layla should be back right after WrestleMania. Beth is the champion. Eve may have a broken nose. Rosa Mendes has found her niche as Primo and Epico's manager. Kelly Kelly isn't on TV as much.

On the minus side, the whole farting angle with Natalya has to go. Unless it turns out Beth was behind it to eliminate her as competition, there is no upside to this angle. The Bella Twins and Alicia Fox are still there. Get rid of them and push AJ and Kaitlyn more.

WWE was starting to go in the right direction when they brought Kharma in - then she got pregnant. With her out of the way, they made a HUGE mistake in pushing Kelly Kelly (yes, I know it's because she was in Maxim). The Divas Of Doom had a chance, but instead of pushing Beth and Nattie as monster heels, they pushed the bikini bimbos, which made the two best female wrestlers in the company (especially Nattie) look like paper tigers.

I hope so, but there is a long way to go before the Diva division can become respectable.

I know it's been mentioned before, but the scrapping of the Women's Championship in favour of the Diva's title was a poor move, for such an old title to be abandoned for that bloody butterfly belt, I mean, just yuck.

I believe that there are plenty of female wrestlers who are capable of putting on a good performance in the ring, Tamina comes to mind as having a lot of potential as a 2nd-gen superstar, as well as those already mentioned above.

I think they are heading in the right direction with the diva's. AJ is ding great in her role in the DB and Big Show rivalry. Eve is doing pretty good in the Cena and Kane rivalry. I would love to see Beth vs Kharma and for once in my life I wouldn't go to the bathroom during a diva's match. Also I wouldn't mind that match going on for a good 10-15 mins as I think it would be really good. The only problem is with what creative is doing with Natalya. She needs to stop farting and start kicking some ass, sure it is keeping her relevant and more popular than the other diva's but it is for all the wrong reasons. so other than that the Diva's divisiona appears to be on its' way up.

(btw did anyone notice that Cena wasn't at Raw except for that little video from the week before?)

Hell no, the Divia division is in the same boat is has been for a while. How do non speaking roles for Aj and Rosa help them? Sure eye candy is nice, but Rosa could be getting small mic time on Sd! or on Raw, to help Epico and Primo along. Cool Aj is in the ME with Bryan. But really? What is she adding to herself by it? Getting knocked around by Big Show isn't going to help her in the ring, or on the mic.

Lets take this past Raw's female match. We had eight females in the ring, and only four of them got ring time. Not to mention that five of them are former and a current champion.

If they want to build up Tamina as a challenger to Beth, why did they put her in with one of the Bella's and have her basically get a squash? They could of had a good eight to ten minute match. With the diva's actually getting ring time. But, they for the most part fucked us out of that.

You do have talent in the Diva's division. Believe it or not, not up to par with Shimmer, Sarah Del rio, or others. But some talent. Beth, Naty, Tamina, Eve is working up to it. Believe it or not, K2 is working up to being better to. A lot of people shit on her, but fuck. She came in as a model and is working better and better with each passing match. At least that is what I think.

Sure the girls like K2, Bellas, and Alicia Fox aren't up to snuff with Beth. But shit at least give them time to work. That is what has been making the diva's division stagnate for so long.

In short, you aren't going to improve the Divas division with Non speaking roles, or non wrestling roles. That is what you are getting now with the "barbies" in the divas division. If you aren't going to let them wrestle, then let them go, or send them down to Fcw for more training.

Everyone wants to talk about Kharma being this magical bullet that will rocket the Diva's division back to the spotlight. Yes, for a while she will do that. But what happens in 6 months after her fued with Beth has run it's course? Ok Put her against Naty or Tamina, What do you do after that? Put 120 pound green workers in with a stiff female like Kharma? You will be signing alot of workers comp checks. If you want Kharma to be the face of the division. A lot more of the workers in the division need ring time until that happens. Not squashes, 4-5 minute matches one on one. Otherwise bringing in someone like Karmah, will not work.

Divas division, taking a turn for the better? Are you kidding me? If anything it's getting worse. The Diva's champ is barely even getting TV time. A diva's match isn't even guaranteed any given week on Raw.

The matches are starting to not even be good enough piss breaks anymore because they're so short. And what's best about it is WWE has a tendency to put random, far more important backstage segments right after these matches.

I would honestly rather we get three or so more commercials per Raw than have Diva's matches. Kharma isn't even back yet, and there is a solid 100% chance that WWE will find some way to fuck it up completely. If they can't manage a major angle for the main event in any conceivably logical way (Cena single-handedly destroying the entire Nexus, Cena being "fired" and not off of TV for a single week, Kevin Nash texting himself to attack Punk, Hornswoggle being McMahon's son, ect) there is no way they'd handle the divas division well.

Pheonix vs Kharma at WM would be a ~2 minute match that sees the one creative decides should win beating the other in impressive fashion.

AJ Lee is hot, though.

Yeah, I don't see how the Diva's Division is changing for the better. We have Natalya farting and losing a match in 5 seconds. Any time there is an actual diva's match, it's a damn tag team. What's the point of these tag matches, if some of the diva's don't even have a chance to get in the ring? Might as well just make it a one on one match. And I'm so tired of hearing about Kharma. What's she really gonna bring to the table? She's not gonna make the division better. If they want to make the division better, quit hiring models or playboy playmates. Get some talented women, there's lots of them in the indies. And yes, I know Trish Stratus started out as a model, but she actually improved her ring work unlike some of the diva's in WWE.

It changed for the better the moment Beth became Divas Champion. They need someone on top who can actually wrestle. However, the rest of the top tier needs to also contain girls who can wrestle. Natalya, instead of being given the spot she deserves, has become stuck in an awful unfunny gimmick. She should be second only to Beth in how strong she is booked. AJ shows promise. Eve has gotten better. Kharma is back. Things were looking up. Why, of all the divas, is Tamina getting a title shot? She sucks and is probably the last one I'd push!

The division is on a much better path than it was a year ago, but further improvements are still needed. Until they reach the point where the entire top tier is made up of girls who can wrestle, and the barbie princess models who can't wrestle are no longer being pushed, the division is not fully changed for the better because they need to redeem themselves from a lot of terrible angles over the years. At least they are their way now. Things were so much worse a year ago. They have come a long way from Kelly VS The Bella Twins. I hope they give us Beth VS Natalya or Kharma at Wrestlemania! That's what the division needs more than anything.

The divas division is like Zimbabwe (or the Charlotte Bobcraps) - you may have resigned yourself to seeing it suck out loud, but then you smell Natalya's fart and know - JUST KNOW - that it's gonna get worse.

So you've got Beth Phoenix as the champ, and Kharma's set to return? Whoop dee doo - Beth and Natalya have done precious little in the little time given to them (matches, promos, backstage skits, etc.) for anyone to believe that they deserve more time to develop their characters into something more transcendent than a sniff of fart, and Kharma just had to get knocked up. And the rest of the divas? Puh-leeze. Never mind skillsets; do these rail-thin pretty faces know anything other than being pretty? Like, like exuding personality? Anything? FUCKING ANYTHING?

So what do you have? Two bland personas for a champion and her smelly side-kick, a wild card who may have come just too late, and Barbie dolls, so many Barbie dolls. And this is from a girl who wants the divas division to remain.

There is only 2-3 minutes of divas action per episode of RAW/SD each week, so yes - it is changing for the better.

Let's be honest; there isn't alot of profit to be made from divas wrestling. Vince knows this and this is why they have the shortest time slot on the programming. You can commend them all for for trying their best, but at the end of the day, if you don't have any interest in something then you just won't watch it. Beth and Eve have had a few great matches this past year, but no one was really interested in them, and I don't blame them. As Hogan said awhile back "You can put on consistent five star matches, but if they don't have a story or mean anything, then nobody cares".

Divas wrestling has reached it's expiration date, and is only still around because Vince can't drop divas wrestling in this day and age without causing a sexist uproar amongst fans. That being said, it just doesn't appeal to a major of the audience anymore. Even live audiences take divas wrestling as a food/toilet break. It's a filler, and as harsh as this all may sound, it gives people sitting at home a reason to change the channel and lower viewerships.

On a more positive note, there is potential, and not all hope is lost. With Beth, Kharma, and even Layla and Eve coming along, you can expect abit more interest coming into the division. That being said, divas wrestling becomes stale VERY quickly. I remember being excited about Beth's big push, but alot of us got over it very quickly. I think you could definitely blame the short attention span of modern audiences - it's the guys who make consistent changes to improve the product that keep the viewership up. However, when you reach the top of the divas tree, having Beth as champion, where do you go from there? My guess is that Kharma may know.
