Going further into the diva's division.

As everyone can see from divas division, it consists of title fueds, occasional #1 contender matches and then the downside: non-title fueds that go nowhere and matches on Superstars that would either chime in changing the channel, fast forwarding, or a bathroom break whichever comes first.

Melina, Laycool and Natalya are obviously the big 4 of this division. Other than them, the division is pretty uninspiring and are pretty much their right now to either job to them or be their partner in tag matches.

Now their belts are unified and the 14 active divas have now merged including the winner of NXT 3. So why not the WWE try something new to bring back people's interests? Many fans have thrashed the diva division including me, but I haven't quite given up just yet. I have 2 ideas which I want everyone's honest opinion on.

Diva Tag Championship- With WWE booking as many diva tag matches as singles matches and the success of LayCool, why the hell not? This would be the a great opportunity for divas who are not in title fueds or storylines, especially the bella twins who in all honesty, have good tag matches together. WWE actually had a belt like this established from 1983 to 1989. It would be interesting to bring it back.

Annual Divas Tournament- The three types of tournament I've thought of are singles, tag team, and mixed tag tournament. I've always thought of tournaments as a good way to get someone over and their always fun to watch.

Does anyone like these ideas? do you have another? Or is the division fine the way it is?

diva tag championships...to be honest thats what i thought they were doing on smackown when laycool had 2 womens championships. and i would love for them to do it.
a diva tournament...it could be ok if they actually wrestled instead of doing flips and stupid stuff like that.
i was actually thinking that with the unified titles now the divas division might get smaller. the wwe might get rid of a few divas. but good thread...green rep for my homie

How is Natalya a member of the big four? She hasn't even held a title yet. You forget about Beth Phoenix as well Cabana and I wouldn't call Layla a member of the "big four" because well she doesn't do shit and without Michelle Layla would be doing shit. Now as far as diva tag titles go it's a horrible idea. How's it working out for Tna? Yeah not great and their womens division is supposedly much better than WWE's. A annual divas tournament could be good if the title was vacated and each divas match was less than four minutes.

I added Natalya because she's the #1 contender, been impressive in PPV's and has better in ring abilty than most of the divas. I added Layla because even though she's not as good as the rest, she's put in some good performances with McCool tagging or when McCool's ringside. I only left out Beth Phoenix because she's inactive. When I said "big four", I meant who are active.

now if they expand the division by hireing most of the nxt divas, maybe i can see the start to a tag division, but the E doesnt even take its male tags serious enough, so scratch that. now maybe some kinda queen of the ring tourney could be cool actually making a woman earn a title shot instead of randomly putting the title on a new diva every other month. they need to do something with that division so we will have something better to talk bout besides how crappy the division is. i like the tourney idea with the winner getting some sort of prize like #1 contender or maybe something like the terri invitation from years back.

I've actually grown to enjoy the Divas Division as of late. I looked into it abit more and sat down to watch the 3rd Season of NXT, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It truly defined the 'E' in WWE. Not to mention that the Divas were incredibly gorgeous which made it more watchable. LayCool are doing fine, they're the top Diva's right now and I don't see them being knocked off their pedastal anytime soon.

I don't think having Divas Tag Team Championships is a good idea. Not now anyway, I mean let's face facts here; we've only just gotten back into the proper swing of seeing male tag competition, so I don't see how the Divas can bring any prestige back to it. The rookie Divas are alot better than most Pro Divas, and you know how long we've waited for Natalya to get her push. I don't see any rookie Diva getting a push that quick.

Honestly, and not that I'm saying that your idea is bad, because it isn't.. I think the Divas Division is alright as it is for now. We saw some great Diva action this past Raw to determine the Number One Contender at Hell in a Cell, which I'm looking forward to. LayCool are on top of their game and aren't going anyway, I doubt even Natalya can beat either of them at Hell in a Cell. Maryse is in a featured storyline with either Ted's or Her secret admirer. Eve is normally always featured in the Championship picture nowa'days and rightfully so. She has potential, and the ass, to be the top Diva.

Saying that, I can see big things in either AJ or Kaitlyn, if anything happens with them. Don't get me wrong, I'm not contradicting myself after I said that they wouldn't be pushed anytime soon, I can just see it happened in the future unless they get the Sheamus treatment.

I like the idea of having a Queen of the Ring,
It could be used as a RR/MITB for the Divas Division,
Winner not only getting the crown but a title shot of her choosing.
We certainly have quite a few participants that this match type would be good for:
Melina: Total Package
McCool: Total Package? Still have not seen her get consistent heat
Beth Phoenix: Total Package
Natalya: Total Package? Not seen much of her on the MIC
Jillian Hall: Total Package
Gail Kim: Total Package? Not seen much of her on the MIC as well as her relations w/ the crowd
Layla: I know some ppl think of her as nothing more than McCool's lacky, but she's proven to me too be good on the MIC and a damn good wrestler.
An undefeated streak in this category would automaticly give a diva something to brag about, Since hopefully the new championship isn't going to be passed aroud like the giant piece of candy it looks like

Now I would like to see a tag belt in the Division,
But it seems to me that the E has it's mind set on just having one belt for each division,
W/ all the unifying and what not.
But if Vinnie was in one of his creepy good moods and Ok'd this, We have:
Lay-Cool: Who would obviously be our first ever
The Bellas: Who have improved greatly as a tag team and I find to be very entertaining, But the only time they get a CR is when they pull the O'switcharoo, which needs to be avoided if they want to be taken seriously.
They are really the only 2 tags the divas have,
But w/ a lttle elbow grease we could slap together some really good teams:
Gail Kim and AJ: 2 highflyer never hurt anything
Melina and Maxine: A total package tag
Layla and Naomi: Lay-Cool will have to come to an end at some point, and Layla used to be a dancer as well as Naomi, and there both good in the ring
Jillian Hall and Maryse:I hesitated to put Maryse because i'm a fan of quality wrestling, but the girl can play her role to a T.
Eve and Jamie: The athletic girls
McCool and Kaitlyn: McCool would again be taking on the mentor role here
Maryse and Askana: Again, a fan of quality wrestling, but these 2 would just be hilarious
Natalya and Beth.P: Do I need to put reasons
Beth.P and AJ: Classic case of I go high you go low.
Now this wouldn't be anything I would jump into right away if given the green light,

Think of a number betwen one and a million. Times it by zero. That's how many viewers women draw in profesional wrestling. This isn't because the diva's division "consists of title fueds, occasional #1 contender matches and...non-title fueds that go nowhere," but instead because NO BODY GIVES A FUCK OF WOMEN'S WRESTLING NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO. Look at the latest NXT rating. Season 3 of NXT has used a very similar formula to former seasons, the only difference being it is now centered around Divas and not men. NXT's ratings are now lower than Impact.
Why on earth would WWE's creative team (who already have enough on their plate) invest time in a division that doesn't draw a dime and no one gives a shit about? A Diva's tag team title would do nothing for the company other than add another meanigless title and would be as signifigant to WWE as Rey Mysterio's penis would be in a gang bang with The Great Khali, Mark Henry and Big Show. And a Diva tournament? That's time consuming and people don't usually piss that long.

The Diva Division is absolutely shit, but it doesn't need to (and shouldn't) change.

WHY does everyone insist on a Women's tag belt? Like seriously, there's TWO examples as to why a women's tag belt won't work and one of those is the WWF Women's Tag team titles... yes people, WWE had one.

I will admit that I wouldn't mind seeing a stronger focus on some of the divas, as I believe the E has some divas that can be entertaining. The Bellas, though not as great in the ring as a Trish Stratus or Lita, could be used more as a Terry Runnels or Ivory role. And maybe at the RR a female RR could go down to guarantee a diva to get a shot at the title at Mania... only problem is that it would probably end up being a bonus match.

I will not admit that adding a second title or a tag title would help them however... ESPECIALLY when they just unified the women's and diva's titles. It just doesn't make sense to me.

ok so heres my idea. have a real miss wrestlemania contest with no santina. maybe besides jus a sash, give them maybe a title shot or if a guest diva like sunny last match, maybe a new contract or at least a legitimate push instead of jus bam one shot and done

I'm going to go ahead and say "wrong" on that. I actually REALLY enjoy the women's wrestling and wish there was more of it. I admit that it's not a popular opinion these days but I do really enjoy them. A lot.
