Is it time for TNA and Samoa Joe to part ways?

I know I'm going to sound like the casual indy mark and all but I don't care... Samoa Joe deserves to be in ROH, NWA, or Japan. Nowhere else but those two places. Why? Because that's where his real in ring ability will shine.

I admit, Joe's not today's Ric Flair in terms of Promo abilities, but he's also not today's Ultimate Warrior of the same coin. The guy can cut promos that seem legit, but not anything worth mentioning... except for his Turning Point shoot which Joe took after Hall no-showed the event (oh looky there).

But yeah, Joe is best suited for his in ring abilities than his mic skills. In TNA's world, Joe doesn't fit... He might fit in with Daniel Bryan and maybe CM Punk in WWE, but then again ROH fans will hate the fact that the guys can't "reach the full potential of the match"... so that's why I say send him to ROH. I think it would be nice to see Joe lock it up with some of the ROH boys.

Then again, Joe's not stupid. He knows that TNA pays him well, and why not stay there? There for, TNA won't be losing Joe unless he either retires or WWE actually ends up wanting him.

I don't think it's time for Joe to leave TNA. I think they need better storylines for him and should put him up against someone under the age of 45 every now and then, that might help a lot. Joe can kick all sorts of ass in the ring and he can also be used to put over younger guys into the main event scene.

If Joe and TNA do part ways there is no way he would go to the WWE. When you work for Vince you have to possess a solid look. Joe does not have that as he is about the height of Randy Savage but has the weight of hulk hogan while having a Big Show like physique. With that being said he would only have two choices for his career, back to ROH or over to Japan. I believe these are places that he can thrive with the talent and deemphasis on mic skills.

I think Joe belongs in the big leagues. His matches have always captivated me. And if people say 'ohh he only wrestles shoot style' well then what can I say anything except I like that style. He has good tempo despite his size. Puts on stellar matches with'em all including some decade classics.

But he does need to lose the weight man. Jeez, I've been harping this tune for as long as I've been here. He is very much marketable and pushable if he does come into a more 'tv-friendly' shape and showcase a more diverse range of expressions.

I disagree with Jack-Hammer on the fact that he doesn't come across as intimidating. For me, he very much does, and if he's done right creatively, (and LOSES THE FLAB!) he can make the upper mid-card his own in the biggest promotion.

I'm not sure if WWE would take Joe if he were cut from TNA. He may go to the indies or ROH. I don't think TNA will part ways with Joe right away since he is an upper mid card player now. Anything could happen though. Joe was never in great shape, but he was in better shape years ago when he first came to TNA compared to now. TNA has a lot of top faces that can combat Immortal. Even if Joe were cut it really wouldn't make a difference.

ok Im going to state how I feel on the current TNA product I feel that TNA is in a way RACIST. They always bury someone who is well not white please before wresltezone bans me hear me out

Eric and Bishoff buried the luchadors back in WCW and what are they doing now?
they bury Homicide
they fire sabu and for what? wasnt sabu there to help them with hardcore justice?
L.A.X simply the best HEEL tag team ever. they were cheered over TEAM 3D which hasnt been seen since NWO
they throw hernandez in the toilet
Pope could be the one who takes down fourtune but they dont because he is not white
Monty brown arguably the TNA version of the rock but TNA dropped the ball.
and Samoa Joe the man can wrestle and is a high flyer they are simply throwing him in the toilet

PLZ TNA if your listening GO BACK TO THE WHOLE F'N SHOW CONCEPT PLZ i kno rating werent the highest but if your consistent then yes you will get more viewers and plz stop being racist

its almost like AJ STYLES is ashamed of being southern he tries to hard to hide his accent plz take charge of your wrestlers jeff hardy is scwering you guys out of money by walking out on them. and MOST IMPORTANT PLEASE LISTEN TO ME NO MORE INTERFERENCES ITS LIKE YOUR SCARED OF PUTTING SOMEBODY OVER THE OTHER BUT SEEING THAT EVERY WEEK GETS BORING AND ITS WATERING DOWN YOUR PRODUCT

GET RID OF HERL HEBNER PLEASE HES SO OLD AND PLAYS A BAD CROOKED REF

PLZ HAVE MORE CLEAN MATCH FINISHES WITH WRESTLERS TRADEMARK FINISHERS AND BRING IN MORE NEW GUYS

I see the main issue with Joe being his awful look. He looks like a miserable fat kid most of the time in comparison to in shape opposition. He has boring attire, B Cups, and a silly tattoo that is a barrier between him and the audience.

Nope I don't think Joe should be let go. I'm a Huge Joe Fan and I think that if he is booked properly I think that he can be Very valuable to the Main Event Scene or The Upper Mid Card. I think he is really good in the ring for someone his size and decent on the Mic. I think that Joe could do himself some good if he Lost some weight and lost a bit of the Flab he has and got back to shape he was in around 2 Years ago.

As many have said, Joe being out of shape causes many to believe he shouldn't be pushed to the main event. Maybe he shouldn't be. What he should get is a manager. I don't understand why wrestling has done away with good managers. I think Joe has plenty of in ring talent. He is a big guy who can move. I liked him when he was the silent assassin in the early days. He needs someone who can speak for him. Who could that guy be?

In TNA, the guy who could be his manager could have been Eric Young. EY doesn't have the in ring skills really to be considered top tier talent. He doesn't suck but wasn't the best. Or Ric Flair. He could have had Kaz's role, but I am not sure he fits. Or, Eric Bischoff. I could see him in Abyss's role as the muscle for immortal. I am sure there are other people out there with mic skills to pull it off.

The other option for him at this point is to find a tag partner. I could see him in a tag team where the other guy is the mouthpiece. A guy like Austin Aries could come in and be his partner. EY could have been a fit here. Desmond Wolfe even would be a fit.

So he's carrying a few extra pounds, I'm sure that if the route was open for a move to the WWE he could shed them. I think that it is a lack of motivation...Joe has been mis-used since his initial badass run.

If he was jumped to the WWE and was pushed in the same way as he was when he first joineed TNA then I'd be in favour of that. I think his physique and look would help him rather than hinder him. It's unique and he has the look of a tough guy. Have him join up with the Usos or something in a stable of Samoan wrestlers upset at how they're stereotyped in the wrestling world. Joe can be the badass singles of the group not just serving as a silent enforcer to get the Usos out of trouble but serving as the main focus of the group. A lengthy US title run later and he'd be in line for a bonafide main event push. I know she's not Samoan but if you've got Tamina in there as a valet/women's division you could have a pretty interesting stable.

It's not like he'd be jumping soon if he made the jump at all but I would pay good money to see a face Daniel Bryan defending a US title against a heel Samoan faction headed by Joe.

He wears a shirt now if yall havent noticed so that should help yall get over his lack of chizelled features.

Im not a Samoa Joe fan but I dont think his promos are as bad as some of you guys say they are. He can cut a promo just as good as anyone, not on the level of a Stone Cold or the Rock but its not like he completely lacks all promo skills.

He can wrestle but he just doesnt get enough time to really show what he can do. He has like 2 minute squash matches all the time and they really dont do anything for him anymore. He needs drawn out, long matches where he can show off his skills.

If he was released you can bet your ass TNA would get spit on and trashed but I personally wouldnt really care.

Joe doesn't need to be slim and chiseled to be great. That's what people like Vince McMahon and others who pass judgment on Joe and other wrestlers because of weight need to realize. IT'S QUITE OBVIOUS THAT JOE ISN'T HINDERED BY HIS WEIGHT IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER. If it was really a problem for him, if it was really affecting his health and his performance, I might understand. BUT IT DOESN'T.

Doesn't anyone one on here have a mental pro wrestling library/database that goes back further than the last six years? If so, people might remember that THE GREATEST PROFESSIONAL WRESTLER OF ALL TIME WAS A BIG GUY. And of course I'm talking about The American Dream Dusty Rhodes. It didn't affect his health too much and it certainly wasn't a burden on his performance, in fact, it is actually a small part of what got him over in the first place.

Then there's Rikishi. He was one of the most entertaining pro wrestlers ever. Unfortunately, he put on too much weight and it did begin to affect his health. But he was still an awesome performer. And of course, there are others, but I won't get into those.

People should be praising the fact that Joe is as fantastic as he is for a big dude (who really isn't all that big to begin with). He's a total package Samoan God of War who can do it all. It's great that he can do this without sporting a washboard 86-pack and a thousand or so veins popping out of him.

Hopefully, one day, Dixie and everyone else in TNA management will return to this realization and he'll be utilized properly again.

I have no problem with Joe but I don't get all the hype behind him. He's sadly stuck somewhere between Bam Bam Bigelow & Taz. He's a big guy that move but he is only big compared to light weight guys. While B3 was big compared to big guys but could move like smaller guys. Taz was impressive because he was taking on bigger guys. Once again, Joe is just doing the same thing but bullying smaller guys. I think he has some use but it's not what he's been doing. Maybe a manager would be good like others said.

And I think the era of pseudo mma is over with The UFC being so huge now. If I want to see MMA, I'll watch the actual thing not an overweight guy pretending to be a MMA fighter.

I don't think Joe should be released and I don't think he will. I think he should run for the TV Title, have some great matches against AJ and then win it. He could have a good reign and maybe defend it against the likes of Pope, Abyss, Kaz, Terry etc. The reason I think that TNA wouldn't release him is because he's one of their only home grown talents still in the buisness and they respect him too much to just release him. Why are you soo hooked up about his weight, that's his identity. He wouldn't be Samoa Joe if he was skinny, he just wouldn't be the same. Even though he has alot of weight on him he still can put on a better match than some of you're muscular favourites. All he needs is to be booked correctly because he's been booked shit as of late.

Joe has gotten over the "out of shape" tag. Could he lose more weight, of course, but then could John Cena learn some more moves, YES!!!! OK, this is dead nuts proof that TNA doesn't know how to use talent, they did the TNA Treatment to Joe, Desmond, Kendrick, and Douglas Williams. Not only that I went back and watched the Kobashi match in 06, and it blew me away. Great everything, a couple of chain wrestlers doing there best and burning down the house. Samoa Joe doesn't need to be released, but he needs to maybe be repackaged, as a straight brawler, maybe throw in some crazy moves in the mix, but make him a tough S.O.B again

Absolutely not. TNA needs to keep Samoa Joe around as long as they can because he is the biggest star they have ever made other than AJ Styles. The organization is full of guys that left WCW and WWE. Not homegrown talent. Joe is one of the few that come close to being TNA homegrown talent. That alone would be a reason to keep him. He's always good as either a face or a heel if keeps going through anyone who is in his way onscreen. Why get rid of him? To push more of the WWE rejects? No thanks. I think TNA should keep Joe around as long as they possibly can.
