Is Immortal Too Weak?

Another issue with Immortal is that they have not really got any sort of theme that connects all the wrestlers together. D-X were these young attitude wise cracking punks. Four Horesemen/Evolution/Fortune were these suit wearing athletes. MEM were made up of former World Champions...

What exactly is Immortal? Hogan, Flair and Bischoff and then Jeff Hardy (anti-christ of pw), Bully Ray (Fat Hardcore slob), Abyss (monster type gothic character) (Gunner - jail- tattooed brawler) Matt Hardy (chip on shoulder brother of top star), Rob Terry (big man wrestler) etc... none of them mesh at all and none of them seem to relate to Hogan or his career...

It's a very odd group it doesn't make any sense besides them being heels. None of them really have a place also. Alot of Stables have the manager/leader and/or main event leader the tag team and the enforcer and maybe the cruiserweight. Immortal has none of these.

It's all a bit of a total fail...

What the hell did Curt Hennig and Syxx ever have in common? How about Konnan and Lex Luger? Stop with the cookie-cutter, cliche ideas about "how wrestling should work" and just watch the damn show!

Not every stable has to modeled after the IV Horsemen! Immortal is basically a poor man's nWo; a bunch of heels banding together because Bischoff and Hogan have "the power" in the company and everyone's trying to get their piece of it. Is it really that complicated, or are you some of you just that desperate to bitch and moan?

No use beating a dead horse here, Immortal's weak.

I have just the right person to join Immortal as a main-eventer: JAMES STORM

Wait what?! Yeah you heard me, James Storm. Let's take a rewind a few years. America's Most Wanted (Storm and Chris Harris) were THE tag-team in TNA. Storm turned on Harris leading to a pretty good feud, and Storm wrestled solo for a while. He's got the look and ability and perhaps the mic work (if given a chance) to be a champion.

I'll be the first to admit that Roode looks more like the chickenshit heel that could ally with Immortal, I'm sure you remember Roode as a heel hiding behind the skirt of Ms.Brooks yeah? Let's be honest though: Last thing Immortal needs is a chickenshit heel. We already have Fatt Hardy and Gooner for that.

On a related note: get the TV title off Gooner and kick him and Roid Tarry out. Neither of them are really doing any good for Immortal.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with the consensus here. To be completely honest, I think that Immortal has been extraordinarily weak from the beginning. When it comes to the in-ring aspect of Immortal, it's almost entirely made up of a bunch of talentless scrubs. Without Jeff Hardy, the entire wrestling aspect of Immortal just looks plain 3rd rate.

Murphy & Rob Terry are both no longer with Immortal but that can be viewed as a good thing really. Neither guy is worth a damn and contributed nothing to the group. I see nothing special whatsoever about Gunner. Some seem to think the guy is "intense" because he'll snarl with the little red toy belt hanging between his teeth or he'll slap himself in the face or some shit. Bully Ray is fun on the mic, but Immortal already has 3 good mouthpieces and Ray, quite honestly, has pretty much zero credibility as a singles wrestler. Matt Hardy is an overrated hack that, on his very very best day, is average at most. Tommy Dreamer is kind of a member by default at this point and he's quite possibly worse than Matt Hardy.

Overall, even with Jeff Hardy, Immortal is still one of the weakest factions I've seen in a very very long time.

Ohohoho, You know me Hammer, I agree with quite a bit of what you post, and this time is no exception. I do take issue with one tiny part: Dreamer being "quite possibly worse than Matt Hardy". I'll give you the part about Dreamer being longer out his prime than Hardy. However, Dreamer has one thing Matt never had: Crowd charisma.

Example: Let's rewind to old-school ECW. Dreamer hits the bounciest piledriver in the world on RVD and the crowd is roaring on a scale comparable to Malenko revealing himself as having been disguised as Ciclope at Slamboree ('98 I think) to get his mitts on Jericho. The pop was almost as big as the one that shows up when the gong goes off and you know the Deadman's about to make his presence felt. And of course you have the underdog cheers for him when he was trying to win the ECW title (both original AND WWECW belts).

Let's look at Matt Hardy. When did he get real reaction? When he was feuding with MVP, and that was only because the fans hated MVP that much. Hell, he couldn't even get over with Mattitude with the Moore-on and Crash. Sure he got a few cheers here and there at the end of his WWE run, but he never had real charisma. That's what sets Dreamer apart from him.
